Disappointing building experience – In the style of WA Country Builders when delivering bad news to a client do it on a Friday afternoon, starting with Happy Friday and leave your client feeling frustrated with no-one to contact over the weekend. Happy Friday WA Country Builders here is my review of the service you have provided over the past 18 months. Design and pre start meeting… Read more
was well organised and unremarkable, adequate service provided. First stage of the build up to the roof install was adequate with a good level of communication. This is where everything went pear shaped. The colourbond was installed to the worst standard we have ever encountered. This took 5 months for the builder and roofing contractor to admit any liability and replace. It took for an independent inspector to write a report of the poor standard before anyone took any action. Communication during this time was at best minimal and at worst non existent. Taking several days and sometimes weeks to reply to e-mails and texts and often not replying at all. Many other sub standard works were completed by contractors and not identified by the building supervisor, taking months to resolve once it was identified by us the client, being advised by the construction manager these are ‘normal building issues’. Following handover of the house we had to fight to get the pavers relaid due to uneven and sinking pavers. Now we are waiting for the patio doors to be ripped out and replaced after being made to wait by the construction manager before he approved it. When we vented our frustration recently due to all of the above, instead of empathy and an apology we received a reply from the construction manager calling my husband childish, a very unprofessional and unacceptable response. I only wish we had read the reviews before signing up as there appears to be a common theme - very poor service, very poor communication, rectification works unacceptable.
So far so bad - thinking of getting legal advice – When I contacted them, we had a brilliant and helpful salesperson. The process up to the point when we signed the contract ran "easy." However, we managed to avoid them charging us with delays as the problems were part of their negligence. The sand pad was laid around August/24. We waited about 2 months for the construction to start (Oct/23), and… Read more
that is when we started with the problems as the supervisor has never been on top of the construction, so the quality is full of defects. The comms between the site and the office are completely broken, and they send invoices when the work hasn't finished yet. When they did for a third time, we decided to stop the payments, thinking somebody in that company would like to repair what was not right. Almost two months ago, they installed the cabinets in the kitchen, but the windows for the living area are not in place, which means the kitchen is exposed to the weather; now we are facing a storm every single day; my husband talked with the supervisor a month ago and as of today no windows. There are issues with the walls, with the plaster, with the window frames and the beams, but nobody in that company cares about those matters. Why did we not review this page first?

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES BUILD WITH WA COUNTRY BUILDERS – By far the most horrible experience I’ve endured. We were supposed to move into our house just before Christmas and arranged for our family to travel from qld to wa to celebrate. It is now late March and we have had absolutely zero progress on our build with ZERO communication since December. A trades person burst a pipe and flooded our guest… Read more
bedroom leaving incredibly significant water damage, instead of bringing the wall back to brick it was left to “dry” and painted back over. When we asked for the moisture report from the damaged wall we were sent a photo of a moisture meter tool pointed at a random wall? Not to mention we are now left with a damaged benchtop, gaps in our roof among other things. These guys need to do better and finish our house build this is sending us completely broke - paying for rent and a laydown for our business when we were supposed to be in our own home months ago. Do not recommend, better off going elsewhere.
Recommend – Our experience with the Rural Building Company has been exceptionally positive, even though our building project is yet to be completed. From the outset, Paul, our dedicated New Home Consultant, impressed us with his ‘no obligation’ approach, instilling a sense of confidence and providing comprehensive, clear explanations. Bonnie, as our… Read more
Administration Team Leader, displayed remarkable professionalism and efficiency, effectively managing and resolving numerous challenges and complications arising from the local Shire regulations.
Navigating through the complexities of today’s demanding building environment and securing available trades for the project was handled seamlessly during the transition into the building phase. Credit goes to the team’s ability to adapt and excel in such conditions.
Our Site Supervisor, Daniel, has consistently demonstrated diligence and timeliness in overseeing the project’s progress, ensuring a smooth construction process. Gina, our Client Liaison, has been a reliable source of communication, keeping us well-informed through regular updates, both weekly and monthly, as well as important milestone notifications.
The standout feature of our experience has been the company’s unwavering commitment to effective communication. While our project is not yet concluded, we hold great confidence in their capabilities, with the workmanship displayed thus far being nothing short of exceptional. We eagerly anticipate the final result with a sense of optimism and utmost satisfaction.
Happy with build – Our build with WA Country Builders (Wheatbelt area) was smooth from start to finish. Our Sales and Design Consultant was exceptional and explained things to us clearly from the get-go. As we transitioned into the building phase, our New Homes Administrators were always helpful and responsive and communication from our Site Supervisor was regular… Read more
and prompt. Most of the trades we had did a quality job and we encountered no major delays with trades or price increases. We did hit one issue during our build and while it did take a little bit of time to resolve, the remedial works were completed to a high standard. Overall, we are very happy with our new home and with the WA Country Builders team.
Trouble Free! – Our build was smooth from start to finish, our new home administrator knew her stuff and was extremely helpful at our pre-start meeting, and continued to be throughout the build process. We had a zoom meeting with the regional manager to discuss our queries prior to starting our build. The building supervisor was always on hand to answer any… Read more · 1
questions,- nothing was ever too much trouble for him. He phoned us often to advise us of how the build was progressing We are extremely happy with the finished result and the high standard of fixtures and fittings. I am happy to recommend WA Country Builders. :)
Very happy with our new house – Contract documentation was very thorough. Any queries were promptly answered. The building supervisor 'fast-tracked' the build so that we could move in by Christmas. A couple of minor issues were promptly resolved. We had no contract variations involving $ after the contract was signed. Overall very happy with the quality of the build and the time to construct. Highly recommended! Show details · 1
Terrible – Where do i start? The price rise because they did not have our quote ready because it sat on someone's desk whilst they were on holidays, the difficulty in getting firm pricing, the additional rent we paid because the house build was ALWAYS behind schedule, the rudeness and arrogance of the management - i could go on and on - however i won't but… Read more
still take some satisfaction in the fact my brother in law and a mate both built with another company thanks to my experience. I am no longer having to deal with them. I don't have enough computer power to cover it.
