Great vacuum, a shame parts are no longer available – A strong sucking vacuum. After 7 - 8 years of occasional use the flex cord near the powerhead had a crack in it which means when you push - pull the head the drive cuts in or out. Took to Godfreys, had to be sent away for repairs. After 6 -7 weeks and a couple phone calls the machine comes back, unable to repair, can't get parts. After paying… Read more
around $1200 and not used greatly i thought parts would easily be obtainable after this number of years. Checking the problem myself and replacing 2 wires which do flex all the time our problem was solved. ( Don't attempt this unless qualified ) It seems with machines these days technicians can't repair a machine unless a complete spare part is available to solve the problem. What are technicians taught when in training? I see the new wertheim vacuums still have this short flex lead to the drive head. A design fault to start with.
Very disappointed – Was vacuuming and my dog and cat just stopped as if the cord came out .Checked and No it just stopped no smell no nothing. I rang Godreys who asked the usual questions did it over heat.No it didnt bag was near new filters clean it just stopped Has anyone else had this happen ? My machine is well looked after and i was happy with it until today now very disappointed as only just 4 years old Show details
Absolute waste of money – This is the most expensive piece of rubbish I have ever bought. It's now 5 years since we replaced another Wertheim that died, but worked well in its lifetime, with this one which has had very little use because it is so cumbersome and has a mind of its own. The cleaner wouldn't use it, which says it all. About to donate it to a charity shop and… Read more
replace with a Shark for a third of the price we paid for this horror show in 2012. Wish I'd read the reviews first instead of relying on past experience.
Not surprised Wertheim has discontinued making the 6035. Don't think it has done any good for the company's reputation if the comments on this page are anything to go by.

Glad I bought it has been my best Vacuum – Has been my best vacuum cleaner haven't needed to use anything else for the past few years. When I saw it I had I put the review up. It is easy to use and the fact it has multiple modes on the power head makes it great to use if you need to give the carpets a really good clean or if you want to give it a maintenance clean. I have used other… Read more
vacuums before and they worked well but nothing cleaned the floor as well as this one and it wasn't until I saw it and then used it at home for the first time that I realised the difference. It is a pricey vacuum that's what I would say but I think I got it for a bit of a bargain
So it would be my pick guys and glad it has been so good to me
An amazing vacuum cleaner – A great vacuum it cleans really well with fast suction and removes dirt really well. Head is fantastic for those who have been having problems if you put it in wrong you will have issues for me it's been smooth sailing and really glad I bought it. The main point is the suction and how clean it is to use I have no dust with this one. Wanted to… Read more
take half a star off for the price point of 1400 but I guess you pay for quality. All in all wonderful find
Wonderful Solid Vacuum 5 star – This is a great Vacuum for me when I got it I wasn't sure because hadn't heard of Werthiem before but I have been pleasently suprised because it literally sucks up everything and I haven't had anything like that in the past. I would definitely buy again and the power head is easy to use and very effective.

Total Disappointment for such big money :( – This would have to be one of the WORST EVER Vacuum cleaner I ever bought. I had nothing but problems with it and now the hose is creating power friction where I ended up with no electricity for the whole day until I got the electrician to come and replaced the melted fuse that was caused from this vacuum. To replace the hose, I was told it's… Read more
going to cost me $189. Not to mention, the back filter was replaced not long ago and the stick that connects to the footer, was also replaced. Seriously, to spend that much money on a vacuum, you'd think you expect bit more than just its past warranty!!!!
Not happy at all....also, not even happy with Godfreys' service either. I noticed the customer service has declined very poorly just like their vacuum cleaners since my last over 30 years dealing with them.
What am I going to do about the hose now???? Definitely not spending that much money for replacement and here, I'm asking if anyone has a hose as a spare from vacuum, I'm happy to pay for shipment cost please, and thank you :)
Poor quality for such an expensive machine – Same story as many others here. Bought what I thought was a top of the line vacuum with good warranty. Got concerned when it stopped working after just a few weeks. Godfreys tried to tell me it had to be sent off for repairs but I insisted on a replacement from the store as less than a month old. The second machine lost a wheel after after a… Read more
couple of months. Off to the repair shop for 2 weeks. Came back and played up again with bad suction and hot motor. They couldn't fix it. So got a third machine. This one too started to play up. Couldn't be bothered to take back. Persevered with bad suction, gaffer tapping the rod up for a couple years but now it has completely died. Off to get a $99 vaccum. Ps got the bag life extender bit only to just find out that they were recalled due to people getting electric shocks and catching fire.
Think Very carefully before buying Wertheim – Bought this machine in 2011. Motor overheated and replaced, the cyclone was removed as being dangerous. The rocker switch on the handle has seized up so the head won't work. Quoted $149 for a new pipe. Bought a new switch for $4 and fitted. Worst machine I have ever bought. Show details

Dud! 6035 & 7000 – I wish I had of conducted my research before buying such a lemon. When it works, its great, cleans like a dream. After paying $1200 for my Wertheim 6035, I’ve had nothing but trouble. Over the last 4 years, I’ve had 7 visits back to Godfreys. They replaced the PCB the first 3 times, refusing to replace the machine. After lodging a complaint… Read more
with Consumer Affairs, they replaced the machine. Second machine, just as bad, within 18 months 2 rods replaced, cord doesn’t retract and now the motor has gone. Both machines were serviced annually and filters changed regularly. When a Company decides to reduce its warranty from 5 years to 2 years, you know something is not quite right. Do they believe in the Brand and Product Quality? I’m thinking not!
Agree!!! – This is such a frustrating vacuum cleaner. We were sold it as the best of the best. I am so tired of going back and forth to Godfrey's. They are always pleasant but seriously, for such an expensive cleaner I did not expect problems. Lost count of how many replacement heads we have been given.
Cutting out from 1st year – This vacuum is brilliant when it works BUT...... The power head connection is always lost, new poles have been purchased, 4 to date and 1 being given as a warranty re issue. It's obviously a design flaw and. For close to $1400 I'm disgusted. The machine is quite useless removing dog hair on carpet without the power head. tempted to buy the new improved powerhead and pole but worried I'd be thowing good money on a poor product
Waste of money – I bought my Wertheim about 3yrs ago now. After almost 2yrs the motor dies. It's been about a year since that was replaced and its starting to show signs of dying again, I bought my first wertheim in 1993 and had that vacuum nearly 20yrs, I am so disappointed in this current Vacuum, i wont buy another again. vacuum again, this time they replaced the mother board or some such thing, luckily we went with the extended warranty. I really dislike this vacuum.
Update Dec 2016, Once again it is starting to show signs of dying. Same problem. It will be interesting what Godfreys says, my extended warranty has ended.

7 years young and still going strong! – I have had this machine for 7 years now, I got it when I first moved into my house, I have a German Shepard (long hair) this is perfect for picking up dog hair, the Power Head is amazing, yes it is a bit large however you will get use to it, it is very light to push also. very expensive. Considering my last machine was only $200. However this machine is still going strong. I do think the rod needs to be improved as I have had to buy a new rod but other than that it is amazing!
Really Suprised was Excellent – A great vacuum is super powerful and I just couldn't get over how my Dyson couldn't pick up a lot of the stuff on my carpet compared to Werthiem which sucked it right up. It has the ability to have a power head too which I think is very important. Love it!
Unpleasent odor, squeeking sounds, so noisy, weak suction, fragile connector – My husband purchased it because of the premium quality that the Godfreys promised (award winning ...etc). But whatever the promises were, the fact that It cause more trouble than benefit makes me never ever recommend this vacuum. The primary problem is the powerhead. Although it looks promising but its heavy, has limited manouver, the suction… Read more
power is weak and dirt tends to clog up inside its entrance. In addition, the connector of the powerhead to the handler is so weak and easy to get cracked. It has an unpleasant burning odour when its being used (although I already change the bag) . The wheels on the powerhead is squeeking against the tiles. Ours already over its 2 years warranty and we're definitely not gonna buy this brand anymore.
Ongoing Problems – We bought a 6035 in 2010 and have had constant problems with it. Had it back many times with problems. Very unhappy. Problems with power head, cracked attachments, motor just stops. Thank god we took out the extended warranty because we've used it many times. Its Just stopped again and warranty has expired.
Dont know what is worse, Gofreys or this terrible machine!!! – Oh dear, if I'd only read these reviews before getting myself sucked in by Godfreys Tauranga NZ!! I hate this machine. Worst and most expensive I have ever bought . ($1300nz +) . I wanted to take it back as soon as I had used it but it was already a replacement for the first one that I had only used once and taken back because of its… Read more
performance. I was made to feel like such a fool by the branch manager I was too embarrassed to go back with another return and I just couldn't face seeing him again as he really "creeped" me. Two years on and just having had another "fight" lugging this dam thing around and having it fall over on it's back, chipping more paint of the skirting boards as it takes off on it's on merry little route, the cord constantly coming out of the wall socket, the wheels getting stuck climbing over rugs and the carpet/lino switch control on the head constantly getting stuck/hooked under furniture and the cord not retracting when finished! I wanted to pick it up and throw it out the window............!! At least I see I'm not the only sucker for the Godfreys hard-sell and this particular vacuum cleaner!. Actually I must confess when I spoke to people re my bad experience re Godfrey's probably 90% of them all had a similar or knew of similar stories. I've had enough of this machine and am off to buy a Dyson or a Meille but Never Ever again will I use Godfrey's and never again would i purchase a Wertheim.
Waste of money – I brought my vacuum cleaner 2 years ago... it has been repaired 3 times. When I questioned this, I was told that I was incorrect and when I asked for my other power… Read more
head back they (1) initially did not return my calls then (2) advised that due to the time delay the spare parts division had already thrown it out. The telescopic wand is loose and it doesn't suck as well as it did with the previous power head. Due to the amount of money spent I would expect top of the range product and top of the range service... and now the motor has gone for the 2nd time... I would not recommend this product nor would I purchase any vacuum cleaner from Godfreys ever again. strong suction everything else
Wertheim 6035 - Rubbish! – After exactly three years persevering with this vacuum cleaner (at a cost of $1099) I have given up. I previously owned another Wertheim (purple) before his one, it was good (although I did have to spend $200 replacing the electrified hose). Needing a new vacuum I stupidly went to Godfrey's again (not sure why) and got talked into buying the… Read more
Wertheim 6035 - which was supposedly improved on the previous model I had. What a silly decision. I realised very soon after purchase that it was a dud!
- The crevice tool did not fit properly and exposed a hole in the metal pole, so when sucking up dirt it flew up through the hole into my face (I had to plug it up with blutac)!
- I always had problems removing the pole from the handle in order to pack it away (it was a two person job to do this).
- I do not believe the poles were made for this machine as they didn't even clip into anything as normal vacuums do.
- I believe that most of the attachments for this machine are generic (in fact a staff member from a Godfreys
Franchise store confirmed this).
- The sucking was only good when you put a new bag in, I was changing it every two weeks or so even when they weren't 1/2 full (which became very expensive).
- The electrical cord rarely retracted completely.
- The electrical cord must have had loose connection as it would momentarily stop working (although this can be normal wear and tear).
- I used the Turbo head about three times and it was very cumbersome and difficult to use and smelt of hot rubber!
- My House Keeper drove me mad complaining about it (she cleans several other peoples houses every week and according to her my vacuum cleaner was the most expensive and the worst performing). Due to illness she was unable to clean my house last week so I had to clean myself and soon found out what she was complaining about, hence me having just bought a new MIELE vacuum.
I have taken this machine back to Godfreys a few times since I have had it but they thought it was performing as it should, although they did give me another crevice tool so I didn't get dust in my eyes.
My new Miele, although I've only used it once, feels like a solid well made machine, it was extremely quiet, great suction, poles all fit beautifully and it was only $680 (this was not the top model, but one of the more expensive ones). I chose this after looking at reviews on-line, only wished I had looked on-line before I wasted $1099 three years ago! The colour Everything apart from the colour!
Wertheim 6035 – I have never owned a more expensive piece of rubbish in my life. I hate it every time I use it. It is a behemoth, clumsy, really cheaply made, It pumps out a lot of heat, the wheels are bad, the fittings are rubbish, It goes where ever it wants as the cheap rear wheels hit the casing as they wobble making it difficult to tow, It will go it's own… Read more
way hit the skirting boards and do damage unless you stick a rubber buffer around the body of the vacuum cleaner. Changing to the power head is not as simple as a click click after a few times the connection gets a bit of dust on it and it is harder to connect without getting on hands and knees to do it. The power head is heavy. The hose is cheap and as it ages the free spinning ends are getting less free and sound gritty. I wouldn't pay more than $200 for this. Knowing what I know now I will never buy another one. I hate this machine, my advice if you are going to buy so called quality don't look at this one, for the money there are better and cheaper ones around.
The cost does not reflect the build quality and it is not a simple machine to work with.
Godreys let us down – I have written a review about this piece of rubbish before. more because the wiring had electrocuted someone (Why did I have to take it back to be told this important piece of information). Godfrey's, who sold it to us with the same salesman pressure others have discussed on this site would not refund our money because the cleaner was bought 2 years previous even though it had been returned to them 3 times in that time. They gave me $79 for the cylinder (big deal) that was one of the features I bought the vac for. They then offered to replace the engine for the second time with a "more powerful product" - Oh dear how would I know if they did because it still keeps overheating and stopping.
This is the second Wertheim product I have bought and both have been disasters. The salesman assured me that the 6035 being a dedicated vac would not let me down like the previous one which also had a shampoo facility. That was shocking too. I paid over $700 and think I only ever got three shampoos from it because every time I went to use it the engine was dead and had to be fixed or replaced. It went to the tip and that is where the Wertheim 6035 is heading. I have bought a far more reliable vac (Meile) only $346 and more powerful suction than the 6035. I will never shop at Godfrey's again and will tell all my friends not to ever consider buying a Wertheim product. Suction was good when working and I really liked the cylinder that they eventually told me had electrocuted someone.
That being electracuted business was not very fun..........then for them to laugh it off when told… Read more

Wertheim 6035 is leaving the building – Our previous vac was a Wertheim. It was fantastic for 10 years until the motor blew up. But value for money I reckon. We replaced it with the 6035 and have regretted that decision for the last 2 years. The drop in quality from the previous vac was noticeable just looking at it, ie. not as rugged. Do not buy a Wertheim 6035 – Purchased a Wertheim 6035 just over two years ago for $1500.00 of hard earned money but it started playing up with poor suction and marking our carpets when the power head decided it was not going to work properly. When we brought it back today to Godfreys they said that it had a dodgy circuit board which would cost $300.00 to replace and it turns… Read more
out that the power head had a recall but we we never were informed. We are going to throw the Vacum Cleaner in the bin and start from scratch and never shop in Godfreys again.
They did a great sales pitch when we bought it.
My advice. Go and buy a Vacum Cleaner in Aldis for $64.00 . It will do the same job even if you have to buy one every year. Stick it up you [censored word removed] Godfreys and stop ripping hard working Australians off. How the godfreys salesman made us feel like he wouldnt rip off his Mum. Worst vacume I have EVER owned – I hate this vacume. I am still angry every time I use it 12 months after the purchase date. I found even very basic crumbs and dust was being left behind. When I returned to the… Read more
shop I was told that the Wertheim vacume head was not a very good one, so he gave me a generic one to use instead, which for a while did improve the suction but now it constantly falls off in use because it is not the correct connection. The cord does not wind in all the way, the extendable arm sticks and locks so it can't move all the time and the clip that holds the machine closed has snapped and it won't close at all. I am due to put this in for a service and would rather throw it in the bin and get another one altogether. I would never recommend a Wertheim or shopping at Godfreys, I felt lied to and tricked about this machine from the start. Don't risk it anyone, for the $1000 I spent you could get a far superior vacume for much cheaper. No feature makes up for this product, it does not do the job it was made for. Good up until the electric shock – I did love this machine when first purchased but within a few months a pin broke off the hose and was left in the machine. flaw. Then the icing on the cake was getting an electric shock from another dodgy dust collector which saw me a hospital stay and pre term labour. The little pin decided to stay in the handle when I removed the dust cup and I didn't see it (nor expect it to be there) and hit it when attaching the crevice tool to clean the car. all I can say is thank god for safety switches!! I felt conned by the salesman as they sold me this machine when I wanted a bagless stating that it could be transformed into a bagless machine and now a couple years down the track and I have a machine I can't use in the way it was sold to me. I think for a machine this price I just expected things to be a bit more quality. When all the parts were on and working it did have great suction and the power head worked amazingly Quality of parts is rubbish - replaced 3 wands, 1 hose and then the 2 recalled dust collectors in under 3 years. I would say the potontial of an electric shock would have to be a con
If only I'd read reviews! – I had mine for just under a year before it just stopped mid-vacuum. I have since heard that they have had this issue previously and the current model was supposed to be fixed. I have dogs and so I'm really looking forward to paying for all the non-reusable bags i will now need. I wish I'd bought a Dyson and saved $ and hassle. Don't fall for the sales pitch!! Best vacuum ever – I have the 6035 and have never had a problem and with a few kids it sure gets a workout. Normally a lover – Im normally a lover of wertheim, I have previously owned two other models they were awesome cleaners never any issues with them needing repairs etc. However I have had to have the 6035 replaced and repaired twice now and it's up for repair again after just 5 weeks I'd say it's their worst. Only when it works - cheap plastic parts not worth price tag – We were talked into buying this expensive machine from a family members experience with an older model. work.
If the broom is removed, the machine makes the most horrible high pitched 'screeching' noise, and so the machine can't be used without the handle. I mentioned this when the machine was brought to Godfreys and nothing was done to fix it.
For 8 months we couldn't get the extra engine in the broom to work, despite pressing the little red button to restart it.
When the "Powerbrush" broom engine does decide to work, it switches on and off at random. All cord and curtains need to be kept out of the way as it will damage them and also switch itself off.
The connection on the top of the broom is flimsy and the head often 'comes off' when I'm using the broom. This means vacuuming takes A LOT longer, even in a small house.
It is a sub-standard vacuum to use on hard floors.
The advertised 'blow' function doesn't work. when the engine in the head works and the parts fit together, it is great - so much dust in our carpets! cheaply made and completely unreliable - head falls off, catcher falls off, doesn't work 90% time
Not bad suction if I could get it to work – I have owned this vaccuum for 6 months now. I have had to replace the powerhead 3 times. I try my powerhead at home and it does not work.
