Ever lasting – It's been 18 years and has been running smoothly. Never given any trouble. Inside material is also good and durable. Hardly any noise. Food has very seldom gone bad, even if we had forgotten about it. Show details
Excellent fridge 16+ yrs and still running – I’ve owned this fridge for 16yrs and it is still running reliably with no issues at all. This has been an excellent buy and still works as new. The fridge is easy to maintain and comprises of a well designed internal layout. Show details
Happy with fridge 15yrs ** loss of cooling in the fridge, empty & defrost to enable airflow from freezer to fridge – DO NOT DISCARD this fridge if it stops cooling and the Freezer is still cold. Frost build up is the reason as the air does not flow from freezer to fridge: turn off and melt the frost manually, heater fan, hot water into vents (I left it in the sun open). It should work just fine and make sure the dorr is always closed snug and the temperature if not set too low. Show details
Very pleased – We had an old Westinghouse which lasted us 27 years. When it finally died, we did a lot of research into a replacement. We decided on a top freezer because 1. better efficiency 2. more space than the bottom freezer. We're very happy with this fridge. It provides much more space, it's well laid out & easy to see the fridge contents. I also like the… Read more
crisper area, the cheese drawer & the ice cube container.
I'm sure this fridge won't last as long as the previous one, but we're very pleased with our choice.
Average fridge – This fridge claim it is a top brand model Westinghouse. However, it wasn't as claim as it greatly. It is a decent size fridge will smaller capacity then expected. More storage used for the machinery over actual use. 442L but actual store is 378L. Would have look for a different one if can go back in time. Energy efficiency is okay Show details
Excellent mid sized fridge, lots of room and no issues in over 10 years – This is the first fridge we bought when we moved in together in 2006. It has worked flawlessly and never had a problem in all of this time. The only reason we sold is that my wife took up cooking in a big way and needed a larger fridge. Pros: Quiet, reliable, does what it's meant to do well. Didn't need a service in over 10 years Well… Read more

Well thought out interior and spacious door shelves for 3 ltr milk.
Lockable/ Kid safe medicine drawer
Easy to clean
Cons: None
Would I buy it again? Would I recommend it?
Absolutely! In fact, I was looking for the equivalent model in a larger size.
Excellent fridge - 10 years old and still running perfectly – I have owned this fridge for 10 years and it is still going strong. It is easy to clean and has not required servicing once since I bought it in 2006. Will be sad to part with it but I need a larger freezer and am upgrading to a twin door model.
Excellent fridge – We have had ours for well over ten years and it is still as good as new inside and out . We bought this fridge brand new from Retrovision at Tweed and have never had a problem with it but we are upgrading to a 527 litre fridge so our trusty westinghouse will be on gumtree next week and hopefully will go to great new home .
Goodbye Great Fridge – 14 years without a problem. Great fridge very reliable. Unfortunately it's time to replace it, as it just stopped working overnight. Would highly recommend this brand and will be looking for another one now. Might go one size smaller this time as I'm more aware of energy efficiency and caring for the environment these days.
For 17 years a great fridge freezer – An excellent fridge, Australian made and highly reliable. Bought from David Jones with a 10 year warranty included, never needed a repair. Finally died on xmas day 2014, the fridge tripped the power circuit, then again when power was flicked back on. Suspect the fridge was a little overworked with the busy oven warming the kitchen that day. We… Read more
moved food to a bar fridge and esky, then left the fridge unplugged overnight, tried it on another power point in the morning and the light worked, after a while the motor started, but we think when the defrost timer/heating element kicked in a few hours later the power again was tripped. We have replaced with another Westinghouse, now with bottom mount freezer, proudly leaving the Australian Made sticker on the front. The new fridge uses about two thirds of the power. Bought the new fridge at The Good Guys, delivered same day.
Made in Australia – I have had this fridge for about 9 years, I had the auto defrost timer replaced about three years ago when it failed but other than that it has been faultless. Its a shame that these great products will no longer be made in Australia, another nail in our once great manufacturing industry. Australian made, quiet, efficient, easy to clean. Will no longer be made in Australia in the near future.
Excellent fridge – I've had this fridge for 9 years, moved house 3 times and it has never failed me and has always maintained an even temperature throughout. The shelving layout is changeable and it has a child safe draw in the fridge for medicine. The size has been perfect for a family of four. Reliable, inexpensive, size
Only lasts 7 years ?????? – I bought this fridge, hoping the name would equal quality and provide many many years of hazzle free cooling / freezing. Exactly 7 years to the day of purchase the main pc board had to be replaced, which cost me around $300. But, thinking that would give me another few years, was happy to pay for the repairs. Now exactly one year later, the fridge… Read more
compartment is icing up, destroying all my fruit and veges. The milk has ice bergs floating in it etc. I phoned the repair guy again, not happy this time......he thought it may be the 'damper' which controls air flow into the fridge section. Told me to leave it unplugged for the night to defrost any ice which may have been preventing the damper from opening and closing. Sadly, this did not help with the problem. Looks like I have to either pay his $100 call out fee, and the cost of repair parts, or buy another fridge. Very hesitant to purchase another Westinghouse. What happened to fridges lasting beyond the 10 year mark ? Please do tell me why I should buy another one ? Why not just buy a cheepy for around $500 ? I could buy three of them, over a period of time, and still come out ahead of Westinghouse. Not a happy camper !!!! Quiet running motor Expensive, break down's expensive to fix and numerous

Excellent Fridge for small family – Love this fridge. Been using it for almost 10 years and still loving it and looks as good as new. My parent in-laws and sister-in-law also bought this same fridge a few years ago and they love it too. Never had any problems with this fridge, it is quite, never had any frost issues and never needed to service or repair. It is an excellent fridge… Read more
for a small family. Highly recommended. design is very modern, the fridge space is plenty, quite and very reliable.
OK – I do not have any complaints or glowing recommendations for this fridge. It has just works as expected. The freezer freezes reliably and the fridge refrigerates reliably. Just works. No issues. easy to clean temp tends to vary a bit wider than expected. Plastic covers to shelves show ware over time
Good – Despite the cons I have listed, I think this is an excellent fridge. I have had mine 6 years now and even though the motor stopped working, it had been sitting in storage for 5 months and had been moved multiple times. I had extended warranty though and this covered the repairs completely! Reliable. A lot of shelf adjustments Glass shelves which… Read more
are durable
Easy to keep clean
Frost free freezer
Relatively energy efficient
I like the shelving/drawers in the door section (also multiple adjustment levels) It is a bit noisy at times (although it only seems to be the middle of the night when I notice this). I also found even in the middle of summer, I have to have it on the lowest temperature setting or it chills the vegetables too much.
I don't like the smaller vegetable compartment. Would rather one really big one.
The top two compartments lids broke very easily but I actually prefer it without them now
Good – A very good sized fridge. Clever compartments (Deli Tray) allow you to store more. It has a removable wine rack which is very handy. There is also a timer which you can use when you put drinks in the freezer so that you don't forget them. The controls for adjusting the temperature of the fridge and freezer are conveniently located on the front.… Read more
The fridge also begins to beep if the door is opened for too long. The shelves are very easy to clean and remove. Vegies/ fruit keep well in the storage unit. Looks stylish and smart. Does tend to scratch / ding easily
Excellent – Would buy this model and this fridge again. Does a great job and is one of the most energy efficient models that was available when it was purchased 4+ years go. works better than our old one! .. i like being able to see what I have easily. glass shelves no matter how I clean them always look dirty. Freezer compartment is small but if packed well can be well utilised.
OK – I purchased mine in December '04 from Retravision (branch has since closed). In hindsight the idiot salesman knew little of the fridge operation and made up for his lack of knowledge with in-accuracies. It ran for about 2--3 days in summer before it chilled. It comes with 3 glass shelves which are easy to keep clean, but I think one too many, and… Read more
a stupid plastic attachment to the bottom door shelf to keep bottles upright which I removed. If I purchased another I would go for the next size up as I struggle constantly with the smallish freezer. For a large family it wouldnt be big enough. Cheaper to run than my old Westinghouse of the same size as evident by lower power bills. Auto defrost. Temperature controls for freezer and fridge. A noisy fridge with strange 'popping' and other sounds after the motor switches off (its normal)and takes some getting used to. The freezer is smaller than my old 420L Westinghouse, compounded by having to leave vents atop the back wall clear for air flow, and the deep door shelves. The gauge of metal its made from it paper thin and dents with the slightest bump. Its probably one of the best of the cheaper fridges.
OK – Not very happy. A fridge that doesn't keep things cold and barely keeps things cool? Not worth all my hard earned cash in my opinion. freezer works very well, temperature control is responsive Fridge only worked properly for a few weeks. It is never realy cold no matter the weather. I have the temperature setting on high and it barely keeps things cool let alone cold!
Good – I am quite happy with this fridge, had it 12 months now and never had a problem with it, although I have found that the freezer tends to freezer burn the food very very easily. It doesn't actually fit that much in it for what looks like such a big fridge. Nice size, glass shelves Strange "water moving around" sounds
