Nightmare Company – This company is a nightmare to deal with. I went through absolute hell with my mobile service just to get it disconnected!!. Then when I tried to cancel my NBN I got a very rude reception from some guy who took it upon himself to interrogate me and was so condescending and rude. I have been with westnet about 20 years and that didn't even matter.… Read more

Every time you talk to someone it's overseas. I feel just sick at the way that guy treated me, I was polite but I could hear in his voice how irritated he was from the start. I will NEVER go with them EVER AGAIN. I totally DO NOT recommend this horrid company which sadly started out a dream service. Friendly, helpful and easy to deal with. Nope not anymore it's a SHAM!

A massive disappointment about the changes of a perfect performing company in Western Australia – First of all reading the reviews, most of them are bad with 1 star but IInet (Westnet , TPG) don't seem to care and keep continue doing the wrong things. I have a technical background and I am very computer savvy. I have been with Westnet since their beginnings because they were the best. Unfortunately it went downhill since the various takeovers… Read more

and name changes but I stuck with them out of loyalty I guess and also because most of my log-in pasworrds were created with my westnet email address. When NBN came into play, I paid the expensive rate (for those times) of $100 a month for a speed of 100MBps. The connection was FTTN and I was assured about the speed inspite of knowing there is no way to get that speed with the last 100 mtr with copper wire (distance to my house from the NBN node). After a year and many complaints about the speed, they finally accepted that the max speed was 50Mbps, partially refunded my money and lowered the monthy connection fee. In May 2024, I was offered by IInet the way of high speed internet was the 5G Wireless Broadband. I have to admit that the speed could indeed go up to 250-280Mbps. Unfortunately the line was very unstable and in most cases the speed was around 30-50Mbps if you were lucky. In my opinion this was due to capping and throttling. When we were advised that Westnet email was taken over by the messaging compagny and recently that email costs fees were introduced and after many phonecalls and complaints, I decided to change provider and opted for the FTTP where the optical fiber comes to the house. I have changed nothing to my internal network and cabling but my speed now is very stable at 100Mbps even in the so called " rush hours". The last offer I had from IINet was a direct FTTP connection since they sort of confessed that the 5G wireless broadband could have issues (their service helpdesk blaming their sales department). Even now after having left IInet a month ago, I am still getting reminders and invoices. Their staff is in most cases very unhelpfull and inefficient. Another important note is that since the email takeover to this messaging compagny, my spam has immensely increased!

Worst provider ever – Worst phone and internet provider ever. Customer service is terrible. Our grandmothers home phone was cut off even though we paid the bill on time. Do not go ahead with this provider. Show details

Shadow of their former selves – I've been with Westnet/iiNet for 15-years. It's clear to me now that Westnet is beholden to Telstra. If there's an internet issue, they have to reach out to Telstra, and I suspect Telstra isn't particularly motivated to assist a competitor. So here I am, into my 4th week with an internet service so unbelievably bad (see image) its as good as… Read more

useless. I have asked for detailed explanations which are non-forthcoming. I am told my issue has been escalated; that a fault has been lodged, and I've been given so many other lovely assurances & nice platitudes by the staff in the Phillipines & South Africa (who are well-trained in these things) that I could fill a book. What I'd like however is someone well-trained to resolve the issue. But there are none it seems. And so its goodbye Westnet. My patience has ended. Thanks for the memories.

Wi-Fi Setup – I've been a Westnet customer for nearly 15 years. In that time there have been some ups and downs - one really bad experience - but mostly it's been fine. We've had an NBN connection since March 2019. It has performed extremely well, with a few brief dropouts over a month-long period early in the piece. These were not worth reporting. A few… Read more

days ago I wanted to connect my wife's new iPhone to our wi-fi network and I found I didn't have the password - pretty dumb! I used Westnet's Support page to ask how to find the password. They tried twice to reach me by phone (I was in hospital when they called) and subsequently sent an email that gave me the information I needed. The iPhone was connected very quickly and we're happy. This is perhaps a trivial matter but it demonstrates what I've always found with Westnet: the tech people are generally very competent and helpful. I'm still unsure about management.

Generally reliable service – When we first signed up with Westnet we found the service really excellent - now it is less immediate and less reliable. Our connection is inconsistent at times. Our service drops in and out depending on the time of the day. We do experience drop outs at peak times which is very frustrating when we run our own business from home.  Show details

Don't Use TPG iiNet or Westnet for NBN what ever you do – I have been a client of Westnet for 20 yrs and more. As I was moving house early I needed my old internet NBN to remain conectéd an extra month after connecting my new home. I reminded the totally inexperience agent 3 times to not disconnect my old home until a certain date. WhY do they do. Disconnect my old and connect the new address leaving fire security cameras alarm off.

Dismal customer service. Don’t bother with this company – After 23 years with Westnet/iiNet, I have left because of the terrible customer service. A company which once prided itself in its customer service has gone to the dogs. Since TPG bought Westnet/iiNet, things have gone to pieces - presumably this was TPG’s plan all along. I gave her plenty of time to respond to me but she increased the volume of the sound of crunching on the line... it also sounded like she was scrunching up something that sounded like a potato chip package. In the end I hung up. This incident happened 1 January 2024 at approximately 1730hrs (Queensland time). I hope Westnet has got some way of tracking this extremely rude female down. It's bad enought customers are required to hold on to their calls for extended periods of time but to add to this the extreme ignorance from a staff member is disgraceful.

They have been very sneaky attempting to take even more money from my account even though, the bank have changed my accounts twice. AND if you have your number on "don't show my id" they can see it is you calling them. I URGE ALL AUSTRALIANS to have nothing to do with this company and run a mile, they have all your information your full name, address, DOB etc and will impersonate you. Westnet a poor ghost of its past under TPG – So I have been with westnet for over 22 years and over the years it went from the best locally owned isp to what it is today and that is basically something TPG brought when it brought iiNet and kinda just forgot about it. bottom of the barrel company and total lack of service.

But like all bad things it gets worse all the time and now TPG have decided as an ISP they will no longer provide even a basic email service......Yeap kinda a move that makes you wonder are they an isp or a joke right? So that means after 22 years with the same email addresses and let's face it everything now is via the internet and email but hey lets force all users to use a 3rd party service that will not provide what the costs will be after a free period is over or you can try and remember 22 years of contacts that need to get changed to a new email address.

So all I can say is TPG you are a joke and bye bye. I hope you go out of business in the future.

The worst service of all time – Westnet have managed to delete 12 months of our emails. They have no idea how they have done it. They have no idea how to fix it. The worst customer service I have ever experienced – If I could give them 0 I would. I started with Westnet 19 years ago with email and domain hosting. they were no longer offering email hosting and I had to find another provider and migrate my data by end April or else I would lose all of it. They end the email with “If you have any questions, please call us on 1300 137 480 and we will be happy to help”. I tried for 6 weeks to contact them, spending many hours on hold. Twice I held for 2 hours and they hung up on me. Many other times I held for 1.5 hrs before giving up. Twice I actually got onto a human but was told they are not part of the host team but would get someone to call me. Never heard from anyone. I followed their complaints process and sent an email asking them to please help me with some actions that only they could do, but never heard from them. Totally unbelievable!! In the end I was lucky enough to come across DreamIT, who now provide my email hosting. The service they provided was amazing and they went above and beyond to ensure my domain and emails were migrated with no loss of data.

How can a good company go so bad – I've been with westnet for over 15 years, and what began as a great service has ended as one of pure frustration. account there. You make the phone call to hang around for 30 minutes before hearing from a rep with such a strong accent that you cannot understand a word. They request a password over the phone which I no longer have, and then tell me that their systems are down for maintenance. I then go to their office in Subiaco to close the account in person. The office looks like a place Saul Goodman would do business from. Handed them a copy of my latest statement and proof of ID and was told that it would be taken care of in a couple of days.... Wrong. I sent a further email outlining everything done so far to get a phone message on ANZAC day (seriously) that voice verification is still required. I'm currently sitting on the phone waiting to hear from one of their Customer Care (what a f#$n joke with the care bit).

My next step is to change my credit card number and probably wait for them to take me to court, to which I will be submitting a counter claim for my wasted time.

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS - IT'S NOT WORTH THE STRESS

appalling. Don't go with Westnet !!!

Calls to support near always have over 1 hour waits and it sounds like offshore support and the care factor is non existent.

If you leave your name and number for a callback it's never returned. I've left 4 call back requests in the past few weeks and haven't been called back once.

I called about a month ago about switching from FTTN to FTTP and was given a Task ID. I received no call back to confirm dates as promised. I later received an SMS from another company stating upgrade work in mid Nov. With more performance issues now than ever before I tried calling support again. Over 1 hour wait time everytime regardless of time fo day I call, so left callback requests. Still not returned.

Searched for recent tasks in their customer portal and none show up. My product also still states FTTN rather than FTTP. Trying to call to make a complaint but experience the usual 1+ hours and no callbacks.

Internet speed varies from 28Mbps when good to 0.3Mbps which is near unusable from a WFH perspective. Thinking of switching but given other provided will still be NBN based expect I'll experience the same performance issues, but hopefully better support.
