THE BEST STORE – Whitworths Taren Point could not be a better store to shop at! Staff are so friendly and versatile and know what they're doing with their job!! Usually, being a female, talking with males at the store would be confronting, but they have some new additions of young females with the same qualities and knowledge as the men and I love it. Used to be quite quick deliveries but now we pay mote freight and get slower service – We pay excessive freight and delivery is so slow. China is a more viable option

Poor customer service – I absolutely loathe having to set foot in the Derwent park store. Customer service is terrible. As a woman they just ignore me when I walk in and there are always about 3 blokes standing around chatting at the front counter who merely glance in my direction and assume I'm not buying anything. When I get to the counter not even a pleasant hello. I hate that I have to buy anything at this store.

WHITWORTHS WOOLOONGABBA QUEENSLAND RUDE & TERRIBLE SERVICE – I ordered some product and paid for it online. I went to the Wooloongabba store to collect my order, upon parking at the front I walked into the store, and around 5 - 6 persons were at the staff side of the counter, note that I didn't call them "Salespersons" not one of the staff acknowledged my arrival, or presence. all, or something along those lines" there was not one grunt of acknowledgement. I stood at the counter and 1 person stepped forward to assist, I got my order and left the store, I NEVER EVER will enter the door of another Whitworths store. I was interested in the Lowrance Eagle sounder that I knew they had in stock, I was ready to buy after looking at it etc, and I was going generally browse the store stock being a boatie, there will be something else that catches your eye. I see in other views that it appears to be part of the training for the people working there, just be rude and stay together in your heard of fellow employees. So in closing if you wish to have rude service from a bunch of numb nuts, go to the Whitworths Wooloongabba Queensland store. AND FOR A LAUGH this was taken from Whitworths own site "Whitworth's has grown into the largest and most successful marine accessory chain in Australia, employing over 150 staff. The goals are the same now as they were with the first supermarket in 1979; to provide unparalleled customer service and offer the largest range of product at the lowest prices." PROVIDE UNPARALLEL CUSTOMER SERVICE" what a joke, does management even know that "Service is Terrible" ????

Service is a bit dodgy/what service – After calling to check if they had a product in stock I drove for 40+ mins to collect the item. Upon arriving I immediately requested if I may use the bathroom. Nope! If I wanted to use the bathroom there was one available over the road in the “Food Court” . More motivation to in future use an online retailer and save myself $20. Customer service is very disappointing – I bought a head held radio In 6 months it stopped working I went back into the store was told unfortunately it is not added under my phone number so they can do anything for me than I showed him the transaction history and the day was advised it will need to be sent away it has been almost 3 months every time I call I get spoken to so unfortunately it is discussing so I just told them to keep the radio I am never entering this shop Tarent point

Selling cheap Chinese rubbish and poor customer service – Purchased some chain for a 21ft boat so not the cheapest out there. Luckily before we installed it on the anchor I noticed a blown out link. Although they were happy to exchange it they were not helpful with the logistics of returning the broken product. Considering we could have lost our boat they don’t seem to care. Show details

but to leave. I have been several times to the same store in the past with my dog however they decided to enforce the rule on Christmas Eve. I have spent a small fortune at Whitworths after discovering it 4 months ago and will never spend a cent with them again. I can't blame the staff as they seemed genuinely sorry and polite however Whitworths management should take a long hard look at how antiquated their policies are.

Shabby way of doing business – I went to the Hobart store to purchase an anode they were almost out of stock, not the size I needed, I was told buy the assistant that they were nearly out of stock because there was always a high demand around this time of year, would you think that they would increase the stock for this time of the year, what a shabby way of doing business. Not going there anymore.

Customer service is not the best – Ordered a electric winch, it came with a cracked casing from manufacture, they just put a sticker over it at the factory, a month on and I am still waiting for them to contact me back after calling them to chase it up. no idea when they plan to sort this out for me. Poor customer service – I've been shopping with Whitworths because I prefer shopping locally whenever possible, but I've had enough. Their service is appalling. I bought a $400 CTEK battery charger that failed and cooked $600 worth of batteries. I found the receipt but it was faded and the date wasn't legible. I've also tried their ordering gear via their online service. A couple days later, I ordered seacocks gear from the USA, as they weren't available locally. The US order arrived before the Whitworths gear did.

have never experienced such inefficiency . My advise to customers, You buy a product of this company they are accountable for the delivery, I ended up on a wild goose chase dealing with people with limited English. Disgraceful service.

Read the fine print – Be careful when ordering things like fire extinguishers from Whitworths because there is an additional charge of $28 because they are considered dangerous goods. While ordering a $260 winch from Whitworths by phone with a credit card, my partner decided to buy a $19.95 (on special) fire extinguisher for the boat while he was at it. When he… Read more

checked his bank account he found he had been charged $28 too much, or so he thought. When we looked at the delivery charges page in the catalogue, right at the bottom it says $28 delivery charge for dangerous goods which have the tiny little flame symbol next to them. We rang to see if we could cancel the fire extinguisher but it had already been shipped. Also re-arm cartridges for lifejackets incur the same $28 charge.So the $19.95 fire extinguisher has cost us $47.95, you can buy the same size at Bunnings for $19.90 plus petrol to get the 50 km to Gympie or pay $39 at Mitre 10 hardware only 5 km away. It would be helpful if staff warned people of any additional charges when taking the orders. Very annoyed and have cancelled the catalogue, they can shove it.
