We went for the Jonny Feel Good option, Great value for money on vehicles, easy and streamlined process for getting going and hassle free returns. We are on our second trip with wicked campers and plan to do more in Australia with them. Customer service quick to respond initially but still waiting on one minor issue. Vehicle received had a… Read more
slightly damaged side door which affected its functioning, we raised issue with the roadside team and are awaiting their input
Picked up a budget camper for a long weekend trip away a few weeks ago. The camper wasn’t the most luxurious but it was still fact a lot better than expected for the price. I was amazed. Also, the people at depot were extremely accommodating and went above and beyond with the service. Show details · 1
Picked up the camper from Perth, fairly easy to find, businesslike team. Camper had seen some mileage but worked fine. For the price and for a road trip to Margaret River no real issues. Still waiting for my bond to be returned but was told it takes two weeks and that's up tomorrow. Show reply

We rented the Johnny feelgood in Perth. and at first we were a bit scared that it would be a dodgy renter, as the pickup is at quite a dirty warehouse, but everything worked perfectly for the 2 weeks we rented the van. The price was incredibly low compared to other rental places, I also really appreciated the low -21 charge. Only 75 dollars. Absolutely worth it and i would rent through them again! Show details · 1
We picked up and dropped off our Wicked in Alice Springs and toured the Red Center for 6 days and 5 nights. We arrived shortly after record rainfall in the area, so had to change our camping plans due to washed out roads, so unfortunately didn’t get to really test the 4x4 potential in the West MacDonnells. It was a comfortable ride for 4 adults… Read more · 1
with decent gas mileage. The tents were easy to set up and the mesh did its job of keeping out the bugs. The kitchen supplies and camping gear - table and chairs, cook stove and refrigerator were all in good condition. Only complaint is the mattresses were thin. I was wishing I had my camp pad to add a little cushion to avoid bruised hips. When we returned the truck, the gals in the office called us a cab to get back to the hotel. The cab driver and his friend who drove us the airport next day were the best hired drivers we had during our 3 week Australian stay.
We recently did a 5-day trip using the D5 4WD campervan and had a great overall experience. The car was reliable, clean, and really well set up for travel. It’s perfect for two people, and we loved how the bedboard could be adjusted into a table inside the car thought it was such a practical feature. The kitchen setup in the back was one of our… Read more · 1
favourite parts. It was super convenient, easy to use and came fully equipped with all the cooking utensils you’d need. Having two fridges (one in the front and one in the back) was also a huge plus. We did have a minor issue with the air conditioning on the day of pickup, which meant we had to come back the next day to get it fixed. It was resolved quickly, but it did cut into our trip and we missed out on a bit of adventure because of it. Aside from that, everything else was smooth and enjoyable. We had an amazing trip and will be posting some reels on social media once our footage is ready! Overall, a great experience, we would still recommend.
No other vehicles would have satisfied our needs for a once in a lifetime trip to Uluru. The desert Sands 4WD we got from Wicked Campers was in tip top condition and handles every terrain with ease. Five stars! Highly recommend Show details · 1
The trip was really interesting! The car itself was actually pretty good, although the built-in kitchen on the side wasn’t very practical. We also didn’t love the smell inside, but I guess there’s not much you can do about that haha. The man who handed over the car to us was super nice and answered all of our questions, which we really… Read more

One thing that should definitely be improved is the insulation for cold nights. Even with blankets and what felt like 100 layers of clothing, we were freezing!
But you can clearly see that it’s a budget-friendly offer, so you shouldn’t complain too much :) The car got us all around the North Island in two weeks without any problems, so overall it did the job well!

We had a great time in a Mitsubishi 4x4 van. The vehicle was well-equipped in every respect; our tip is to buy two pillows and a duvet cover. Show details · 1
Okay, it was very much budget budget and thats what I expected. Sad to not get any camping gear like chairs or an eski when that was stated that I would be included for free. The same goes for ”the list” with free camping spots, when I asked about it I got directed to a few apps and that was that. A bit concerning as well that the people that… Read more

Amazing experience! We got a Johnny Feelgood and it's same classic wicked experience but upscaled for those that want a little more luxury. Best way to travel around tasmania Show details · 1
Solid van for what I called home for 3 weeks. Arrived early at their depot and the van was already good to go and with half tank to get me going and some gas cylinders Bond was already taken 24 hours ahead so didn’t need to worry and just needed to sign paperwork and hit the road This van was used for mixed things, seeing and staying with mates and road tripping west to Perth Show details · 1

I arrived at the Hobart depot after it had closed, but called and was given the code to a key box for the key to the camper that had been left outside for me. No problems with the camper and it's certainly the best value rental out there. Had a great time exploring Tasmania in my rolling home! Show details · 1
My 10yo son and I hired a mystery machine last school holiday and went on an adventure. It was a fantastic experience and a great way for us to bond together. The van was super easy to organise and pick up and drive. We travelled and stopped when ever we liked with the bed super easy to set up. Can’t wait for our next adventure. Show details · 1
Wicked Campers was a brilliant experience. The camper was fit for purpose and enabled me and my partner to comfortably travel around the whole of Tasmania. I had to wait longer than expected when I arrived to pick up the camper but when I returned it, I was told I could hold onto the keys for the whole day and post them back when I was done. The customer service around this was great. Show reply

My boyfriend and I hired a wicked camper to explore Tassie and it was the most perfect trip. The camper was super easy to get around in, great amount of space and supplies included. Speaking with the wicked team was super easy on WhatsApp and they were always kind and quick to respond. We had the best trip and are already looking forward to the next one. Show details · 1

I’m giving a 2/5 rating because I was very disappointed with the service. We had booked a 6-night trip from Sydney to Brisbane. When we arrived in Sydney to pick up our Scooby Doo van, they couldn’t find our reservation. They took us to the van area and tried to give us a different vehicle (a 2-seater, even though we were 3 people). After 1 hour… Read more
and 30 minutes of waiting, they finally gave us the van we had originally booked.
Once on the road, we realized there was no air conditioning in the vehicle. So we opened the windows, but then we couldn’t close the passenger-side window because the motor was broken.
We contacted customer service, who replied once, but then never got back to us again, even though we sent photos as proof.
Another negative point was the equipment: we had to buy bed linen, pillows, a sponge, cleaning products, glasses, dish towels, and towels ourselves.
There were also two curtains missing in the van, so it was impossible to fully close it.
And when we picked up the van, the fuel tank was less than half full.
Overall, because of all these issues, we are unfortunately very disappointed.

vehicle towed and took nearly two days to get me a replacement car. Head office didn't call me to see if I was okay after the incident. I had to put in multiple calls to get through over a few days. None of their representatives seemed concerned that I was involved in an accident due to their negligence. Their initial customer service representatives nearly always sound like they are high. When I finally heard back a few days later, they still insisted that I get the car to Sydney on time, despite losing two days early into the trip. I expressed that I was injured and not comfortable driving. Despite this, they insisted I bring it on time because the car was needed for a future client. The same representative also unexpectedly put me on hold twice. I ended up hanging up the first time after being on hold for three minutes and when I called back, she hadn't even noticed I was on hold. They agreed to compensate me with $400 in fuel money and a reimbursement of $180 for accommodation. I've requested feedback regarding why a wheel fell off one of their cars. Still awaiting the return of my deposit. Don't subject yourself to this company for the sake of saving a few $.
Follow-up · Had to keep calling and emailing to get my deposit back. They held it for longer than the one-month period after I returned the vehicle. The company is yet to explain the wheel failure. I have repeatedly asked for this information and they are yet to get back to me. I was given a replacement vehicle which took two days to get to me. I was not given an extension on my lease period. Avoid this company at all costs.

I was hoping to hire an automatic Aventus 2. Unfortunately I found out when I got to the south Sydney pickup spot (a shared site with no Wicked staff outside 9am - 3pm Mon-Fri) only a very faded red manual Mystery Machine 2 (small Suzuki van) was available for my discounted rate. Fair enough, I could have paid more to guarantee the nicer… Read more · 1
automatic Toyota Tarago/Estima Aventus 2. I drove from Sydney to Oberon staying at "Reef reserve" by the lake. So nice to find a hot shower and clean facilities for FREE. Thank you NSW Government. Then I went to Bathurst for a drive around Mt Panorama and then visited Parkes radio telescope. I would have liked the Aventus with the auto and bigger engine and might do so next time. The Suzuki was reliable and economical but just seemed a bit under strain (a bit noisy at high revs) for long distances at 110km/hour but it was a bargain price so that's OK, but I might spend a bit more for the much nicer and roomier Toyota Aventus 2 next time. At least Wicked allows for outside hours pickup and drop off, which I did with no real problem. That's a good flexible service. Customer service, all by phone in my case, was friendly and helpful. No problem with payments.

We rented "Johnny Feelgood" for a trip from Melbourne to Adelaide. It was overall a good experience. very comfortable and spacious for two people. - Fridge, Solar panel worked very efficiently
Things to work on: -No window covers (windows were tinted, but still) thankfully we stayed at campgrounds the whole trip, but not ideal for stealth camping - Vehicle could have been cleaner (just a bit of dust and stains here and there, nothing dramatic) - Windshield wipers were a bit old and did not wipe the windshield well. - Comes with most Basic things, however some of the equipment could be renewed (Camping chairs were worn out, camping stoves worked a bit funky) - Car comes with a bunch of superficial bumps and bruises, as well as a few chips in the windshield, so make sure to take photos prior to departure and upon returning the vehicle
It is worth noting that no bedsheets/pillows are provided with the vehicle. I cannot remember if this was written or not in the agreement.
Overall : I give it 4 stars because it is what to expect with such a low price. We enjoyed our experience with Johnny Feelgood. The pros outweigh the cons in my opinion
We travelled around Australia for 21 days in the Johnny Feelgood 2 campervan. We mainly went for Wicked Campers because they were budget friendly and the van was pretty fuel efficient and they delivered on both fronts. make the necessary changes for us, so that's a plus for customer service. I feel we were a bit unlucky with the van we got though, as it did have a lot of minor issues, but they assured us the engine and the aircon were in good condition and in the end the van did drove perfectly fine through the brutal summer heat for the entire 11.000 km. The camper conversion was very well done too, the bed was pretty comfortable, and the kitchen was well thought out. (Personally I would add an extension cord and a few outlets inside, so you can run a kettle, an electric cooker or a better fan when you have a powered camper site and maybe a cheap battery charger, so you can use the lights, fan and fridge without draining the battery when the van is connected to a power outlet, it would give me extra piece of mind on running the fan overnight). As I mentioned above the van did come with a few issues, so don't expect a perfectly smooth ride. If you don't mind a little adventure along the way it's a nice budget option, but if you expect a perfectly smooth and organised experience I would pay the extra and go with a different rental company (and I feel my wife would have preferred that). And even though our van clearly had a hard life, we did have a lovely trip and in the end we do miss our little travel companion.

Had a great trip from Brisbane to up Airle Beach in our campervan! Was a little small and cramped but we made it work. Wicked were wasy to deal with and the van clean, worked well and had all the accessories we needed. I haven’t received my bond back yet and it has been 3 weeks. Will be contacting them today to check on it. If all goes well with that I would book again with wicked campers! Show details · 1
Picked up the Mystery Machine from the Auckland depot. Was super easy to collect and service over the phone was fab. Van was great for what we needed. Ran well and had everything needed. Managed to book a very last minute campervan for our New Zealand South Island trip which was great as most other vans had sold out!
