Wicked Campers

We rented the Johnny feelgood in Perth. and at first we were a bit scared that it would be a dodgy renter, as the pickup is at quite a dirty warehouse, but everything worked perfectly for the 2 weeks we rented the van. The price was incredibly low compared to other rental places, I also really appreciated the low -21 charge. Only 75 dollars. From the moment we arrived at the Sydney depot to pick up the van everything was smooth sailing. The collection was amazing and so quick, we were then on our way travelling from Sydney to Perth, an experience of a lifetime that wouldn’t have been the same without our Nissan Elgrand from Wicked Campers. wouldn't start (dead starter motor is my guess - just unlucky!) I called some numbers and eventually someone came to help. We unloaded and abandoned that Johnny, went back to the depot and they gave me another van which thankfully didn't skip a beat!! The bed was comfy for my 6 nights, I got a double fitted sheet for the base and used Pillows and a quilt with covers. The little kitchenette great and useful, the van was easy to drive and fairly economical running on unleaded. My first van had a phone holder and fans in the rear, but the second one didn't. Be sure to check and ask and the staff who will help with whatever your need. My second van seemed to be a foreign version. All buttons were not English which made it very tricky. I wasnt able to use the stereo system (dont think there was bluetooth but that might just be me...) so was very glad I had bought along my rechargeable boombox for music! There are also cigarette socket USB charge points, just bring your cords. I drove from Cairns to Townsville and back detouring along to Milla-Milla for a night after waterfall hopping all the way! Easy pick up in Broome, van was as expected, clean and well equipped for touring with a bed in the back, camping and cooking gear and a small icebox fridge. All that is needed for touring around. Show details ·  1

I was sitting on the couch one night and decided that’s it. I want to get in a van and go so I did. Kids were driving me crazy so if I went all the mums out there do it it was amazing. along the way this was soul lead journey. Having hand painted theme just made it all the more exciting people just wanted to come and say hello asking questions where we going where we’ve been. I’m already planning my next trip. I use the van for middle of the bush no power no water camping which was great. I did bring an extra kitchen cooker. We also use the van in caravan parks for a powered site which was also fantastic. Payment went through effortlessly. Still waiting on Bond to be returned.tho

Hi I was looking forward to relocate a sedan from Airlie to Brisbane. I had 3,days to do so, after picking up at the,travel shag I Airlie I spend the day,clean the car ,all lights on dashboard was on ,low on motor oil no braks fluid and and emty tank .it turns out the starff uses the,cars as ther staff cars so doint give a bugger. Took the D5 campervan up to Artemis station north of Laura, Far North Queensland, for 6 days. Absolutely loved the vehicle. It drives really well and hugs the road, very comfortable to drive and relatively economical. small campervan I’ve been in and I’m 68, so I’ve driven a few. Very stable on gravel roads in 4WD too. Had an awesome time away and will definitely hire this vehicle again in the near future. Pick up, drop off was easy and the staff are fantastic.

Got the wrong car, way older with the worst fuel economy. (Also, they missed to tell me that they hold the bond of 1000$ for 30 days even after I dropped the car off.) We picked up and dropped off our Wicked in Alice Springs and toured the Red Center for 6 days and 5 nights. We arrived shortly after record rainfall in the area, so had to change our camping plans due to washed out roads, so unfortunately didn’t get to really test the 4x4 potential in the West MacDonnells. with decent gas mileage. The tents were easy to set up and the mesh did its job of keeping out the bugs. The kitchen supplies and camping gear - table and chairs, cook stove and refrigerator were all in good condition. Only complaint is the mattresses were thin. I was wishing I had my camp pad to add a little cushion to avoid bruised hips. When we returned the truck, the gals in the office called us a cab to get back to the hotel. The cab driver and his friend who drove us the airport next day were the best hired drivers we had during our 3 week Australian stay.

We recently did a 5-day trip using the D5 4WD campervan and had a great overall experience. The car was reliable, clean, and really well set up for travel. favourite parts. It was super convenient, easy to use and came fully equipped with all the cooking utensils you’d need. Having two fridges (one in the front and one in the back) was also a huge plus. We did have a minor issue with the air conditioning on the day of pickup, which meant we had to come back the next day to get it fixed. It was resolved quickly, but it did cut into our trip and we missed out on a bit of adventure because of it. Aside from that, everything else was smooth and enjoyable. We had an amazing trip and will be posting some reels on social media once our footage is ready! Overall, a great experience, we would still recommend.

No other vehicles would have satisfied our needs for a once in a lifetime trip to Uluru. The desert Sands 4WD we got from Wicked Campers was in tip top condition and handles every terrain with ease. Five stars! Highly recommend Show details ·  1

One thing that should definitely be improved is the insulation for cold nights. Even with blankets and what felt like 100 layers of clothing, we were freezing!

But you can clearly see that it’s a budget-friendly offer, so you shouldn’t complain too much :) The car got us all around the North Island in two weeks without any problems, so overall it did the job well!

We had a great time in a Mitsubishi 4x4 van. The vehicle was well-equipped in every respect; our tip is to buy two pillows and a duvet cover. Show details ·  1

for camping travel. Well serviced and prepared when we picked it up. Price was excellent compared to other options (we booked early to get a discount rate). Small downside on the booking website - we couldnt delete one of the options we earlier ticked so had to pay the full amount and will have to hope we can get that refunded.

vehicle towed and took nearly two days to get me a replacement car. Head office didn't call me to see if I was okay after the incident. I had to put in multiple calls to get through over a few days. None of their representatives seemed concerned that I was involved in an accident due to their negligence. Their initial customer service representatives nearly always sound like they are high. When I finally heard back a few days later, they still insisted that I get the car to Sydney on time, despite losing two days early into the trip. I expressed that I was injured and not comfortable driving. Despite this, they insisted I bring it on time because the car was needed for a future client. The same representative also unexpectedly put me on hold twice. I ended up hanging up the first time after being on hold for three minutes and when I called back, she hadn't even noticed I was on hold. They agreed to compensate me with $400 in fuel money and a reimbursement of $180 for accommodation. I've requested feedback regarding why a wheel fell off one of their cars. Still awaiting the return of my deposit. Don't subject yourself to this company for the sake of saving a few $.

I’m giving a 2/5 rating because I was very disappointed with the service. We had booked a 6-night trip from Sydney to Brisbane. and 30 minutes of waiting, they finally gave us the van we had originally booked.

Once on the road, we realized there was no air conditioning in the vehicle. So we opened the windows, but then we couldn’t close the passenger-side window because the motor was broken.

We contacted customer service, who replied once, but then never got back to us again, even though we sent photos as proof.

Another negative point was the equipment: we had to buy bed linen, pillows, a sponge, cleaning products, glasses, dish towels, and towels ourselves.

There were also two curtains missing in the van, so it was impossible to fully close it.

And when we picked up the van, the fuel tank was less than half full.

Overall, because of all these issues, we are unfortunately very disappointed.
