Ordered 2 pairs of shoes online Wednesday night and received order confirmation Thursday morning. Shoes were delivered to Rockhampton (before 10am) the very next day (Friday) from Victoria! So impressed with this customer service. Show details

Refusal to cancel order sent to wrong address, poor customer service I placed an online order with Williams Shoes and immediately contacted customer service after purchase to advise that the delivery address was incorrect due to a PayPal Express Checkout error. My correct address is updated and visible in my PayPal account; it was a PayPal error.… Read more

Despite notifying Williams before dispatch, I was advised they could not update the address or cancel the order and was instead told to contact their third-party courier (StarTrack). StarTrack is contracted by Williams, not by the customer, and only the sender is authorised to request address changes. Expecting customers to manage a retailer’s courier relationship is unreasonable.

I then requested cancellation so I could reorder correctly. This was refused, and I was advised to “return the item once it arrives”, despite the parcel being sent to an address I had already advised was incorrect. I cannot return goods that are not delivered to me.

The order was shipped anyway and is now in transit to my old address. A PayPal claim has been lodged seeking a refund.

This experience reflects very poor customer service, rigid scripting, and a refusal to take responsibility for resolving a straightforward issue that was raised immediately. I’ve had similar situations with other retailers in the past, and they resolved it by contacting their delivery provider directly.

I would not recommend Williams Shoes based on this experience.

Sent a pair of dirty, used shoes. Box torn, tissue wrapping torn, support/packing from inside shoes missing and leather toes all creased from where shoes have been worn and someone has been walking in them. I had purchased two pairs, which arrived separately, one pair new in pristine condition (both box/wrapping and shoes) the other pair clearly… Read more

used and filthy. I am now instructed in printing a label, wrapping the shoes in waterproof packaging, and a trip to the PO to stand in line for half an hour, before they will send me a replacement pair of shoes that have not already been used by some filthy grub and returned for a refund! Also worth noting, staff member states ' there will be no cost to you'. I beg to differ - fuel, time, wrapping and printing are costs the customer should not have to bear. Buyer beware.

After reading reviews of poor customer service, I fortunately, have not had to deal with service dept. I ordered pair of Makes Tan Long Leather Boots online 03 March '25. Boots arrived 10 March '25. Everything seems ok. Boots are what I ordered. Right size sent, hopefully they will last. Show details

Beware buying online – Beware buying shoes online. If they don’t have stock of the item you purchased, which is frankly inexplicable, you will have to chase and chase a refund of the product and postage. Very frustrating experience buying school shoes this year. The explanation was “we had unexpected popularity and speed of purchase of this product”. No guys, it’s a… Read more

simple maths problem. You are greedy. And forgetting to and delaying customer refund? Too popular to refund for several weeks? Oh, my bad. Sorry to be a bother, I was just hoping to send my kid to school with shoes this year…

My experience with Williams Shoes was really good! I was going to return a pair of sandals and Alex from the Carindale branch in Brisbane was really helpful and patient. A very professional man with excellent customer service. Because of that, I will shop there again in the future. Thank you very much! :-)

Follow-up  · I had to return these sandals because I have flatfoot and I felt uncomfortable wearing the right sandal. Nothing is wrong with these sandals; the quality is very high with a fair price. The brand is called Sole-Tech Perry S3. It was easy to return the second pair I bought because I did not wear them at all (only the first pair). Customer service is very good. All the sellers there are helpful and patient.

After my wife had problems online, she approached the physical store in Westfield Marion for help with fit and sizing. She received such helpful service from Bianca in the store that she purchased two pairs on the spot. This lead me to the same… Read more

store and to Bianca for an overdue purchase. I too came away with two pairs and was blown away with the friendly, helpful service. Top job Bianca!!!

Follow-up  · The person in-store understood the fit and sizing issues my wife was experiencing. Bianca offered a shoe that had the best fit for her foot and at the best price. The store atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, no high pressure sales tactics and in our cases, there were plenty of choices and if the item wasn't in-store as happened to me, they arranged for stock to be delivered from another store.

OK…but not great! I ordered a pair of sneakers through the Williams interface and selected what I believed was AU/UK size 9. All online windows in the order interface showed Size 9 thereafter – ONLY Size 9…as pictured in the attachment. The… Read more

shoes that arrived were in a box with 9 in the largest type-size on the box label – but it was US 9 that was prominent. Elsewhere on the box label it showed Size 8 AU/UK size.

I emailed customercare@williams shoes. The return email stated: 'Thank you for contacting us. All orders undergo a thorough quality assessment upon being picked and packed. We apologise for the oversight in this instance. So that we can have this issue resolved efficiently and let our warehouse know of this error, are you able to please provide us some images showing the shoes you have received. We will also need a photo of the shoe box the shoes came in showing the style name.'

I responded: 'It would appear that a size 9 US has been picked and packed instead of a size 9 AU/UK. Understandable given that the typeface of the US size is the predominant type size on the label.' I took photos as directed and attached them to that email.

The next day I received an email from customercare@williams shoes: 'We are very sorry this has been your recent experience. Attached is a prepaid return postage label for you to send this item back for a replacement - there will be no cost to you. To help us get started on organising your replacement, we kindly ask that you return the item within 7 business days using the provided label. As soon as we see the return on its way, we’ll begin arranging your replacement right away.'

I repacked the shoes with the original post pack, printed the supplied postal label, wrapped the box in waterproof plastic and lodged it at the PO the next day, 11th July.

On Tuesday 15th July, tracking indicated that the return had been received at the Williams warehouse but there had been no notification to me that the replacement was arranged 'as soon as they saw the return on it way'…as claimed. (Whoever writes these customer communication messages in the first place is apparently not communicating the claim to the people who are supposed to be carrying it out.)

I emailed to enquire. The response was: 'Thank you for reaching out to us regarding your replacement. Our team have begun sourcing your replacement, and as soon as this is complete and the item has been shipped we will be sure to update you with new tracking information. We appreciate your patience and understanding, have a lovely week!'

On Friday 18th July the replacement shoes arrived – and were the wrong size again! US 9…not AU/UK 9! I emailed: 'The replacement shoes received today are the same size as the last pair…which were the wrong size and returned!'

The response was: '…the size 9 indicated on your order when on the website was referring to the default sizing for this style/brand, which is US. I can confirm that the ordered size from the beginning was a US 9/EU 42. In terms of exchanges, we do not facilitate them for change of size via our online returns. What we offered you was a replacement with the assumption that the size sent to you was incorrect. However, upon further investigation we found that it was in fact the correct size being sent to you.' (Apparently the explanation in my original email was not clear enough.)

SO…be aware that if you order online from Williams, as your order progresses through the various stages, the size you are seeing may be the US size.

They added: We apologise for the inconvenience caused, however the offer of exchanging in store or returning for repurchase is all we can offer from here.

I took the first part of that advice and took the shoes back to the nearest Williams store intending to get a refund…because the retail stores website showed that style and size of Colorado sneaker (on special) out of stock at all of the accessible Williams stores in the region.

As it happened, they had the shoe style in stock…and in the size I needed! The exchange was effected without drama. I even bought another pair of shoes while I was there.

The customer service communication presumably out of the actual online warehouse was polite, professional, patient and helpful…but the whole US size thing out of a Melbourne Australia warehouse for Aussie customers is just bizarre. If I see Williams shoes I like in future I’ll go to a retail outlet…regardless if the website shows the item as out of stock there!

Follow-up  · In response to the email "the community wants to know more” and “How has your experience been since your original review?…Top follow-up questions readers have asked about your review: • How did the in-store exchange process compare to the online experience? • What made you decide to buy another pair during the store visit? • Have you noticed if… Read more

I bought a pair of shoes online from Williams. They were a little small even though I had shoes from Colorado in that size. I took the shoes to a store and a very easy and efficient exchange process. The assistant was courteous and offered a similar shoes in the next size up in exchange. The process was very quick. Very pleased with Williams exchange policy and its application. Show details

Poor customer service and products – Poor quality shoes and customer service refuses to refund. Purchase 2 pairs of shoes for my son and both pairs had holes in them from day one. Have reported my experience to Fair Trading. Will never buy with this company again.

The worst customer service ever – Worst customer service I have ever encountered ever , and don't even think about trying to return for a warranty enquiry . No matter what you say, they don't listen or even assess the product in question, just keep repeating " Wear and Tear " So sad, they are going to ruin this business. As I won't be returning, and many people I've spoken to, say the same. Port Central, Port Macquarie Show details

Unhelpful and stubborn customer service – I spent over $500 on 2 pairs of boots and 3 pairs of sandals. Fake prices – Really annoyed that a cheap pair of vinyl shoes was advertised as 159 reduced to 79 Clearly a case of fake advertising As the average cost of vinyl is 40 to 60 dollars 159 come on we were not born yesterday Forcing you to buy 2 pairs to get a discount is also poor Just discount each pair Its pure greed
