happy that my husband was told about it all they could say it was sorry don’t know how that happened and offered a free cup of coffee. Well I was very disappointed and that’s not good enough and I won’t be going back there ever again.

needing it to be used in my kitchen to hold kitchen appliances as I dont have much of a kitchen bench.

I requested a refund due to the miss-selling but it was refused.

The store agreed to replace the top, however it has now been over six months of delays, changing timeframes, and no resolution. Each follow up results in a different timeframe, but nothing has been delivered. No one bothers to contact me after the timeframe has expired I always have to follow up.

A full refund has now been formally requested under Australian Consumer Law and the matter has been escalated through Consumer & Business Services (CBS).

For the price paid, the product should match what was described. I would strongly recommend shopping elsewhere.

Buyer beware !@!@! so my case is now been escalated to Consumer Business Affairs. CBA have written to Wohlers asking them to contact me, to resolve the issue with my lounge. Wohlers previous to this, sent an independent upholsterer to do a testing on my lounge. I was never going to win the war. The report was conducted using non label… Read more

product and a abrasive scrubbing brush. When I questioned this with the Upholster, his reaction was if I mess up I will fix it. I have contacted 3 Upholsters, who do not want to get involved, providing an expert advice on my lounge (it is peeling revealing black under the cream colour) simply because South Australia is too small, reason being they offer their services to different retailers. They fear if getting involved will be detrimental to their business and can lose further retailers using their service for giving a professional opinion. Again [Name Removed], manager of Wohlers Tanunda phoned and went over the same conversation to say its bodily oils lack of maintenance which has caused the lounge to detiorate. As pointed out over and over, I am not going to buy a $5000 lounge to not follow maintenance care in cleaning etc as per guardsman sold to me by Wohlers. Wohlers have offered to get a quote to repair the lounge at my cost. It's a total insult. Iam not going to allow this to rest, as it is the principle and the cost. I have not bought a leather lounge (which I wonder if it is) to look at it and not expect to get 10 to 15 years before it should wear. I am pursuing this for the Consumers who have experienced a problem similar with Wohlers. Iam sure there are consumers who have contacted Wohlers and have given up. Like me, they come up with many excuses. I am prepared to go to court and supena a employee who has told me they receive complaints on a daily basis.. I keep you informed.

Further to my original complaint I have put on this page about my modular lounge I have since found out it was grade 65 which on research is faux leather which is fake. I am still waiting 12months later have had no further contact from wholers. I have lodge my complaint with ACCC and waiting for further advice. Disgusting company. **Quality is terrible** for overpriced furniture go out of town and pay the delivery fee. We purchased a sofa bed. Mattress got black mould within 2 months. There solution we can sell you another mattress. The way there upper management speaks to people is deplorable and from what I hear owner will do nothing as it always goes… Read more

Is really disappointing now with variety and the staff follow you around! Daughter in Melbourne Contacted Mr James Wohler and offered assistance from ACCC to solve this problem. Read the fine print and you find to cancel the order 20% of the total price is charged. We have now received a chair far more superior from the manufacturers. Total cost of the chair was $3448.00. Time Wohlers accepted that the customers do have rights and not treated in this manner. Thanks to the staff and delivery for their services but we will never step foot in this shop again. The say shop local and support local but why would you when you get treated in this manner. Be aware of no cooling off period with this company! A deposit was made at 4pm one day, we decided to cancel the order the following morning at 10am and they will not honour. My 87 year old father in law attended Wohlers in Richmond as he needed a reclining chair due to poor health. longer suitable so 7 days after paying a $760 deposit to Wohlers we have been advised that he pays 20% of the total price of the chair! That means Wohlers will now retain over $500 of his deposit for an “admin fee”. The manager advised that the chair had already been despatched which contradicted the salesman’s story that with only three trucks and a backlog of orders meant 6 weeks to get to Adelaide as you advised on the day. Surely 20% of the deposit is reasonable! Wohlers management you need to update refund policies as we understand some admin fees apply, but seriously $500? For a family business you are certainly not family friendly and with the current cost of living $500 is a lot for a pensioner for throw away. He did not fully understand the refund policy and it was not highlighted to him so anyone reading this please be very careful in buying furniture from this family business.

display table. I asked about having it delivered but it was over $200. My friend said her dad who was our neighbour was having a lounge suite delivered so could it be included in its delivery. No, the assistant said because it's 2 separate addresses. Well we suggested deliver it to her father's address and we will collect from there. No we would still have to pay the same amount. I was quite annoyed by this appalling lack of service and 9am the following say decided to cancel my order. I was told I would still have to pay 20% because I had signed a contract. When I replied nothing had been done, the table was still in the warehouse the belligerent assistant just kept saying You signed a contract. I was seething, which is very unlike my normal character. I told him I was hanging up and rang the next day and asked NOT to speak to him. The next assistant after negotiations said I could buy a cheaper table and receive a gift card to the difference but this table would take 3-4 months to arrive. 6 months later I finally got notification to say it arrived and I had to provide all the padding and labour when collecting as it's against OHSW for them to help load. Unbelievable! Have told many people how this is the worst service I have ever received

Poor customer service - damaged chair delivery – $2500 chair delivered, unwrapped, not protected. Discovered underneath chair was damaged. They will not replace or refund, only repair. Don’t believe their hype on their ads. Poor customer and after sales service. Sales person made his sales commission that day though.

Unfulfilled order – Total scammers! Beware!!! My mother who is 86 ordered a blanket box. Wohlers advised that they couldn’t fulfil the order resulting in my mother cancelling the order which was outside their 6 month time period. later discover that the metal studs began to rust. Here is the kicker! When we spoke to Wohlers Tanunda the management informed us that we must have used a product that made them rust. Cleaning our chairs was simply a feather duster requirement. No Mr Wohlers, it was inferior and CHEAP studs that were used (another 3rd party professional upholsters comments) with a price tag that raised more than one eyebrow. Sure they would replace them....but at a min of $130 each PLUS freight. MR Wohler...I'm here to state that your customer back up service is disgusting and your workman ship is Z grade!

poor quality studs/dome nails were used. Wohlers said it was because I used cleaning products on them (The chairs only needed to be dusted never cleaned!) There offer to fix the issue was a minimum cost to me of $138 per chair and all 10 chairs need to be fixed! I would expect that if you spend over $10,000 on a dining suite (that very rarely gets used) it would not deteriorate and need repairs in 6 years!!! Wohlers Furniture & Homewares, I will not recommend you to anyone nor will I buy anything else from you.

Be aware supply second rate products and hard to get a refund – I have only given this two stars as after 7 weeks we got our money refunded. I purchased 2 AH Beard mattresses paid deposit and was told 4-6 weeks delivery time. correct the other was wrong , they went back and came back with the wrong ones again. The next ones delivered had holes in them and dirty marks on them. We were told that they were again going to specially make new ones for us once again they had holes in them. They eventually refunded our money. I was told many lies from the sales persons one salesperson even raised his voice and got cross at me when all I wanted was our money back. They blamed AH Beard but Wohlers are the retailer and they should be ensuring the product is not second hand and the correct one. Be aware read the fine print once they have your money it is extremely hard to get back.

Milk made of Gold – I ordered a pot of tea for one. Asked for lactose free milk. Nearly fell over when they wanted to charge $1.25 for about 50ml of milk. This is the extra charge for any alternative milk. What is it all made of gold? That is a cost of $25 per litre. I walked out and will not go back. After 3 months we decided to cancel. Well it was then that the fine print was pointed out !!!! Of our $1000 we only got back just over $300. As pensioners we were upset and even asked James Wohler if we could perhaps take a store credit. No was his answer. 'Contracts are contracts'. Nearly $600 lost. Never to shop there again. BE AWARE OF FINE PRINT.

store and was given much the same answer. The store was easy to navigate and had a good selection of furniture. Some salespeople were a little like vultures and one even tried to take the sale when I was already being helped. I bought a mattress and sofa after ensuring they were in stock (the sofa being selected because it was confirmed it was in the warehouse). I received less than $100.00 discount on a $2700.00 purchase which I accepted. Ankica, the salesperson was lovely, helpful and patient with me over questions about the further purchase of an almost entire furniture range. Then it went bad! I asked if I would receive any discount on a purchase that was about $7,000.00 and was told that the question would 'have to go higher. The answer was a discount of $200.00! I pointed out that there would be a third order and in total it would be about $12 - 15,000.00. The question had to go to the manager David, so I asked to see him which I did a few days later. Very poor salesperson who repeatedly said about 'little margins' and was like a typical used car salesperson who did not listen and was focused on learnt lines, replies and repetition! After going round in circles, I said the question was simple - how much discount on that large amount. He asked me to email Ankica and she would send that to him and then further up the chain and so on. I compiled a list that night of ALL the furniture I was looking at and sent the email asking the question. It is now one week later and I have not heard a word. No response to the email, no phone call - nothing at all. Not even a response that the email was received and it was being considered etc. Complete silence. I had plenty of emails though about the purchase of the mattress and sofa especially when balance payment was due! Well, the mattress and sofa just arrived and they are very good quality and comfortable, as seen in the store and were delivered easily. I have rated 1 star for the overall experience. As far as others in this process, Ankica was lovely and tried her best but I felt she was under pressure to deliver certain lines - she deserves 4 stars. David the manager was not good at all and should be avoided - o stars. The delivery contact lady was lovely and talked to me as a real person. The delivery guys were great - happy, and also treated me as a real person and moved the old pieces out and the new ones in easily and without any issue. They all deserve 5 stars In summary, I will NEVER buy from Wohlers again due to the treatment I have received (or lack of any communication) in wanting to buy the large amount of furniture. They are only happy when they have a sale and anything else that is not in their sales manual seems to overwhelm them!!! I have now gone elsewhere and bought furniture of that amount with a very good discount and helpful salespeople who spoke to me as a person and did not deliver lines! Big loss Wohlers - huge loss!!!!

wasn't until pushed that they offered the compromise of the hire chair (for free, which was appreciated). Delivery staff were helpful and polite, but multiple promises of return calls by a Sales Manager that didn't happen became very frustrating. The best advice we can give is if you order furniture ensure that it is in stock, not going to be on order, given our experience.

was not looked after and taken for a ride, beware of the tale of slick and well written up document they give you, with all the inclusions and add on's, (but only for their costs of course), and of course teetering just by the skin of their teeth to be on the right side of the law. So if you are looking for a ride, with some bad turns, and you fitting the bill for their devious ways go in, But beware if they don't have it you wont get it this year, if they do have it the catch cry will be it has to go up $$$$!!!! If you leave the store today as we have the wrong price on it, if it on the floor and it is damaged oh well you bought as is. Darryl and Marylin they sadly have blacken your name, and all in the name of the money! There are many furniture stores around my advice avoid Wohler's, unless you enjoy the loss and torture's of the smiling Wolf!

the chair order. I had waited long enough. [Name Removed] says “It’s a 20% Cancellation Fee (small print on the bottom of the order form, not told aloud to me in the store, only 6 month waiting time). He says I’ll email you the paperwork & you sign it to cancel (but also, unknown to me, to agree to forgo my deposit money)”. Sad behaviour. Legally, under Australian law, all of my deposit should have been refunded to me, with a refund notice form but wohlers tanunda decided not to comply with this law so my husband & I decided to cut our losses & get, at least, our $308 residual deposit back. Warning:- always take one day before signing any legal binding document. Take an iphone photo of the small print wording & go home & think about it. This is unscrupulous & deceptive conduct by a retailer, in a furniture store setting. The 20% fee was really a shopping tax, penalising the customer for not buying the chairs, which they failed to deliver on time. It was an excessive, unreasonable amount of money ($577) for 2 elderly pensioners to pay. All I can advise is, shop elsewhere for better genuine, honest service (without tricks & games) to buy truly australian good quality furniture not cheap, foreign imported items.(from Philippines, China, Malaysia, Indonesia or who knows).

They came as ordered. They were not the correct size. My issue was that we should have been asked for the correct size as there are varing sizes pending on make. wanted to change our order, we were actually spending more money than the original order but we were slugged a $250 admin fee for the privilege. No problems, we wore that too. They told us our furniture would be delivered in 18-22 weeks, from Vietnam ... our furniture arrived 33 weeks later and it was made in China! The staff and management had no sympathy each time we rang to inquire about an update on delivery date. Their response; “It’s unfortunate, there’s a pandemic and it’s out of our control “. Well, we know there’s a pandemic, and we were well in to the pandemic when they took our order and would’ve had some idea of the lengthy delays in delivery but didn’t advise us of this.
