Would like a solid hot plate that actually fits down over the flame but no all it does is stew the steaks and this is supposed to be the plate for the Ziggy triple grill. This is possibly the worst bbq that we have ever purchased, doesn’t heat well, exceptionally hard to clean just overall rubbish! Show details

Might be a decent bbq but the base is an utter disgrace. Poor design and has taken me over an hour just to assemble the legs and they still aren’t secure. No matter how hard I tighten the bolts the legs are all over the place. The instructions are a disgrace as well. I’ve had to google a better copy of the instructions. I’d recommend looking at other options. Show details

I have had it for 6 + years. I own lots of different BBQs, kettle Webber's and a pellet smoker. I use this for general bbqs and bacon and eggs. You can put a 40cm Bessemer fry pan straight on it for scrambled eggs. Ive Cooked loads of bbqs on it. The best way to clean it is remove the fat tray. Place a $2 bucket underneath it. Spray oven cleaner… Read more

and let it sit for 25min, then pour 2 boiling hot kettles around the burners, and push the fat into the bucket. Then wipe it over.

Kept under cover it's held up well.

The Australian bbq market needs competition but sadly the Ziggy I worked on didn't offer much – I am a long retired gas appliance serviceman and very experienced in retirement with refurbishing Weber Q models. I picked up a Zeigler 2 burner off marketplace free and I decided to dismantle and get it working. My opinions. Weber Easy to work on. Simple but efficient. Reliable if looked after. Zeigler. Complex. Way to many parts ie screws nuts… Read more

and bolts. Weird ignition system. Overly complex and questionable overall quality especially the cast iron grates which seemed to have terminal rust cancer as the iron was flaking apart. I did get it working and it probably would cook ok but I wouldn't buy one. Q's are not perfect but worlds apart from most of the cheaper gas bbq's. I can't rate it's cooking ability as the grates with the rust to me were unusable.

A Great BBQ – Before writing this I read many of the reviews and was frankly gobsmacked as the negative ones didn't match my experience with the Triple. I'm now on my second triple, nothing too much wrong with the one I bought in 2018 but the upgraded model has solved a few small problems. One is the larger dome of the lid enabling me to have plenty of room… Read more

for my roast. I have the cast iron roasting dish and knowing how convection works have used a trivet that raises the food high enough to allow the heat to flow both over and under the meat. To do this you only need to light the outer burners. I've roasted, baked, grilled, slow cooked and with a bit of trial and error have seemingly mastered this BBQ. I no longer use the oven in my kitchen.

The larger temp gauge is a plus though I would suspect that it's only mildly accurate. The new handle is a big improvement on the original. However, my main gripe with my first model was how hard to was to clean. I'm not in position to blast it and the burners got in the way. The new model solves this issue.

Very happy using this as my main cooking tool

Lacking in too many areas - 4 month review – Unfortunately the Ziggy Triple doesn't perform to a high standard and the numerous shortcomings in its design make for a challenging BBQ experience. The most disappointing aspect of the design is the layout of the burners. There are no burners located beneath the grills in the front section of the BBQ, therefore it is not possible to cook/grill at… Read more

the front of the BBQ (comprising at least 1/5 the total grill) due to a lack of heat/flame (non-existent) and when roasting there is a notable cold spot at the front of the BBQ. Specifically, due to the grill location and direction of heat (flows towards the vents at the rear), when roasting it is only possible to use the back 2/3 of the BBQ unless you're happy to constantly rotate your food, although this rotating process involves opening the lid and losing oven heat each time.

Another shortcoming in the grill design is the"Flame Tamers" in the grill which are intended to prevent fats/oils dripping directly onto the burners and clogging them. Despite their intended purpose, all the Flame Tamers achieve is to create an uneven heat surface (hot and cold spots) which results in uneven cooking (e.g. burnt spots and uncooked spots on the same piece of meat). This makes for uneven charring on foods and requires regular repositioning of food to prevent burnt spots.

Lastly, if considering the small hot plate attachment I would recommend against this. The reason being is that there is a series of large holes around the outline of the plate. These holes make it very challenging to move food about the hotplate without it falling down into the BBQ and when cooking something like an egg its is all but guaranteed that the egg will pour down these holes.

Overall I would advise reconsidering the Ziggy Triple, particularly if this is to be your primary BBQ. This isn't to say Ziegler and Brown is a bad brand, although I would look elsewhere beyond the Ziggy Triple, maybe to a Z&B Turbo Classic or Webber from what I have heard from friends. Good luck!

Great BBQ – Overall this is a really cool BBQ and we love it. Technically I probably should have a bigger BBQ, I could do with more space when entertaining large gatherings, but this BBQ has slightly more space than the biggest size WeberQ. The grill is very chunky and has less bars, and bigger, than the WeberQ's. It also has large block-out pieces above the… Read more

burners which can make it uneven but you get used to this. The construction is thermoplastic and aluminium so it will never rust or fall apart, which is what put me off buying the old "Tin box" 6-burner barbecues that never last more than a few years. Natural gas is great for saving money, no more $45 for 8kg of gas!

Additional notes: I cook chicken, steak, bacon, etc on the BBQ. I've had difficulty cleaning it in the past but mainly because I wasn't using a degreaser. I don't know fully how it copes with weather because mine is undercover, but it's made of materials that will not rust. Like usual, the thermometer eventually got moisture inside it, but it works perfectly.

Bloody awesome BBQ – I just upgraded from the twin grill to the triple after owning the twin for 7+ years. After my first cook on the triple I've noticed it burns even hotter than the twin grill so I have no idea what all these people are saying that it doesn't cook hot enough. BBQ itself is OK. Some good innovations like a place to stack the spare grill plates etc. I had a Weber before this and the Ziggy is probably better. My disappointment is with getting a cover. Dreadful – Awful thing. We had to throw it out. BBQ's Galore would not help either. Despite keeping it immaculate, it constantly flared up violently and ruined quality meats. Not only did it set fire to foods, the chassis which holds the "non flare up" glass tubes disintegrated within a few moths of use. It is more of a marketeers side style brand rather than a good BBQ. A total waste of money. Now in a skip. Show details

Avoid this BBQ. Look at other options – The quick answer to "would you buy it again?" is No. Tried to have problems rectified but was shoo'd away from BBQ Galore in Capalaba (I now know it was because they were closing down and didn't give a hoot). have to keep at it, and keep at it, and keep at it.

The biggest problems we encountered straight away were: * The grill does not fit in the BBQ. One of our grills falls into the BBQ. It is too small for the bbq or the bbq is warped (too large one end). * The cart falls apart immediately. The wheels fall off. We have blocks under a couple of wheels so now we have a "not portable BBQ".

This is not a cheap BBQ but it is definitely "cheap". And both BBQ Galore and Zielger and Brown only seem to care about the sale, not anything after. Extremely disappointed.

If you want a BBQ for great steaks. DO NOT BUY THIS BBQ. Absolute rubbish – It looks like a great BBQ but unfortunately I am like many others that got sucked in by the salesperson. Looks good but cooks poorly – Very uneven heat distribution over the 3 cooking areas and does not get hot enough to cook steaks properly, not even when using a solid cooking plate. The cart is not very mobile as the casters fall out constantly. The lid started to corrode under the paint. I’m a bit disappointed in the product as it is a very nice looking BBQ with many accessories to choose from. I’m afraid that it’s a poor value for money BBQ. Show details

VERY POOR DESIGN IN ATTACHING SMALL TROLLEY CASTORS – Triple BBQ is approx 7 months old and when being moved on a concrete deck both of the small castors collapsed to one side and became detached. the leg when turning - the supplied screw is no more than a joke. I returned the two castors to BBQ Galore Jindalee for replacement under warranty and was informed that there were none in stock. On further checking the Manager informed me that in fact there were approx. 1,000 on order and expected in store mid-February., I was absolutely amazed at this number and suggested to the manager that it would not take a Rhodes Schollar to realise that if an order of 1000 was expected just for BBQ Galore it would suggest a major design fault - a statement with which he did agree.

Worst bbq I have ever owned.( smashed it to bits with the axe) – The 3 burner ziggler and brown bbq has been a total waste of money. I have owned the bbq for 3 + years and I’m totally disappointed with it . I can’t remember what it cost at bbqs galore in Hobart Tasmania but would of been between $500 and $1000 dollars. Tonight I cooked some sausages for dinner on the grill plate and because half the sausage was on the grill and the other half was on the grill plate with no gap I got a half cooked sausage.

I could of put the bbq on market place or Facebook and sold my problem to someone else . But I got more satisfaction by smashing it to bits with the axe.

I'm envious of everyone who has had better experiences – I've put my triple out on the verge for rubbish collection. My old Bunnings special was hotter and far easier to keep clean and I wish I had kept it. Apart from the heat fading rapidly from new, the cast iron grills rusted from first use. Extremely dissapointed – I spent weeks reading reviews and researching information on the Ziggy 3 burner. I was keen on a Weber Family Q Premium, as we already own a Weber Baby Q and it’s great. the first step in the door of the Rockingham store it was clear the young lady who served me knew less than I did about this bbq. From trying to sell me a roasting dish, which is for the 2 burner AND the 3 burner cast iron dish, to eventually telling me she doesn’t know much about the model. First impressions count and I should have walked out. I ended up buying one plus many accessories including the warming rack.

The warming rack. This is a piece of poor engineering and design. Concept of a warming rack is good, just that this one, once fitted, means the available cooking space is reduced by around 80% because you can’t get your hand under to turn meats over. Waste of money, don’t bother.

The cast iron baking dish. This is ok, but it holds a 2kg chicken and not much else. Too small for a full meal and a better design would have been square and larger not a small rectangle. Another poor bit of design.

It seems the fogging up if the temperature gauge is a common theme amongst owners. I’ve sent several emails asking why and how to fix this. No responses at all, ever. Terrible customer service on a new product.

I’ve been sent surveys asking for my feedback and have included the same questions, but no one has contacted me.

Cooking: I’ve cooked a roast chicken. That was ok, but no different to one cooked on the Weber Baby Q.

I’ve cooked steak, and I think the bbq struggled to hold its heat so it got a bit stewed.

Sausages cook quite well on the griddle.

If I had the chance to spend $1100 all over again, I would firstly stay away from BBQs Galore, period, and I would most certainly choose a Weber Family Q Premium over the Ziggy 3 burner.

I am disappointed on numerous fronts and the customer service, which was poor to begin with, is non existent post purchase. If something does go wrong, I doubt the warranty is worth the paper it’s written on.

Buy a Weber; you will surely be a lot happier in the long term.

Added comment: 1 Jan 2020

This BBQ has been a total disappointment. I cooked, or tried to cook a rolled lamb roast yesterday in the cast iron roasting dish that is designed for the triple grill. I used the rack, basted the lamb, preheated the grill for 10 minutes to 200C. Put veggies around the lamb and on she went. 2 hours later, the top is burnt, the underside is not cooked and the veggies are only just cooked through, except for carrot which was still hard. The carrots had been cut up.

Seriously, this is pathetic. It appears that using the roasting rack and dish AND putting veggies around the meat does not allow sufficient heat to circulate under the meat.

Again, my honest advice is stay away from these Ziegler and Brown BBQs and buy a proven Weber. Biggest purchasing mistake I think I’ve ever made. Useless performance, zero customer service. Don’t waste your money.

Next plan is to try the WEBER convection trays with their rack ( which is also nice and solid) sitting directly on top of the grills WITHOUT the useless roasting dish and see how that goes. If it fails, I think I’ll publicly auction it as a useless piece of junk on EBAY and see how much attention I can get.

I want my money back BBQs Galore!!

Added comment 1 Feb 2020

As noted above, I proceeded to roast a chicken WITHOUT using the Ziegler and Brown roasting dish, but by using the Weber convection tray and the very solid Weber roasting rack. Cooked a 1.94kg chicken for 86 minutes at 200 degrees and it was brilliant. Perfectly cooked, tender, juicy, simply delicious. Point here is you can and should use the tried, trusted and proved Weber BBQ and their method to cook your food, not some Flim and Flam dodgy brothers roasting dish from Ziegler and Brown.

Think about it for a moment. The roasting dish sits BELOW the plate level of the bbq and the flimsy rack you get with it sits in this dish below the plate level. The whole concept of “roast” is that heat can travel “around” the food to cook it evenly. Heat cannot travel under anything in this poorly designed roasting rack because it sits to low.

Do yourself a favour and don’t buy a triple grill roasting dish. Better still, be a smart shopper and buy the trusted and “proven” Weber Family Q and use the Weber add on products to do your cooking. I wish I would have.

I still want my money back BBQs Galore. How about you answer the questions people ask, for example, if the cast iron plates are dishwasher safe or how about why the thermometer keeps fogging up.

Stay away from Ziegler and Brown. Buy a Weber, you will be so much happier.
