Died after two years – This robot pool cleaner was good whilst it lasted, but 2 months after the warranty ran out, it stopped working. For a device that cost $1300 when new, this is woeful. Not recommended due to bad build quality. My experience with Pool and Spa Warehouse trying to get them to care was similarly sad. Pool and Spa Warehouse where the unit was purchased, refused to provide any help. I went to the manufacturer - Fluidra they were also unhelpful and didn't answer emails for two weeks. I have now bought another robot from a different brand and a different shop.
Purchased in at Pool and Spa Warehouse Online store for $1,311.

I reached out and was not assisted via both the chat system and email. They just say that the warranty period is over and they can't (won't) do squat. I recently read that the EU is starting to require companies to provide 10year warranties on consumer electronics... Bring it on.
A magic cleaner makes my life so much easier – Purchased this cleaner due to a disability which stops me from lifting heavy loads. It is highly efficient and picks up the leaves and bark that accumulates in the pool with ease. I was very impressed with the way it dealt with the fine dust blown in from the west. I normally put it in in the morning early, occasionally in the evening after dark. As it is completely silent my neighbours never hear a thing.
Purchased in at Pool and Spa Warehouse for $1,326.

CX35 was sent for repair 3 times now the latest is it just does not move I also must say pool and spa warehouse very happy to sell the product but could not give two hoots after the sale, 3 times had to purchase boxes to send it to a repairer Fix my dolphin and came back worked for a couple of weeks then stopped again. would not recommend the CX35 at all spend a bit more and get a dolphin Show details
This is my second unit 22-23 months seem to be their lifespan . I will say the service team are excellent ., but considering the cost versus life span they’re expensive Show details
Zodiac CX35Robotic Cleaner – I just made the switch from a Zodiac AX10 to my first robotic cleaner. I cleans really well and picks up fine sand even with the standard basket. Its a bit of a pain to have to drop in and remove the cleaner after use but on the other hand, the pool looks much nicer then having the suction cleaner stay in the pool full time. I am happy with my decision to go robotic Show details · 1

Fabulous cleaning results in comparison to other competitors – It is with pleasure we share this 5 Star rating of our 2nd time purchase of the Zodiac CX35 Robotic Pool Cleaner. We were impressed the first time we purchased your Zodiac product a few years ago, but then tried a different 1 -3 years ago, but it was nowhere as good and this year we decided to once again purchase your product and the difference is remarkable with fabulous results. thankyou for creating such a good product. Way better then having the old baracuda flaping around in the pool all day – The CX35 has acumeilated more deadbrie in 2 hours of operation then the old Baracuda did. So much more economical !! Show details
Brilliant Pool cleaner – The pool has never looked better and being robotic it has saved me time and energy. Show details
Terrible Design Zodiac CX-35 Robot Pool Cleaner – Do not buy this product. Poor design with cable connect to robot. Huge number breaking plus leaking in motor casing is common. Circuit board is humisealed which is good but circuit design fails with SCR rating switching on pool motor. Bang another fail. Suggest go wireless. Not worth $1399 avg buy price June 2024 Show details

Zodiac cx35 stopped climbing walls contacted Fludia was advised it was under warranty and would be repaired – Unit stopped climbing the walls, spoke to [Name Removed] (Zodiac) asked to purchase a seal kit was advised it was under warranty and would be serviced and a local agent would attend and repair, 3 weeks later get a text asking for a box size so they could organise a pickup, contacted them again and advised difficult to source a box that big and I… Read more
could drop it off and they would courier back after repair, so was given the details of one of their repairers (Alais Pty Ltd) dropped off the unit and Ian of Alias advised that the rollers (tile version) were worn and need to be replaced regularly and that was the issue and being a consumable not covered by warranty but he would test it thoroughly but explained that the normal rollers would suffice because they don’t wear out and he would install a secondhand set ($60.00 set) and send back if not happy would performance would sell and send me the sponge tile rollers. Received a bill for $275.00 which I paid, and the unit was sent back, placed it in the pool but still not climbing the walls called Alias advising of problem where I was told he ran it perfectly in his test tank and also on his pool, but to give it a second go, tried again and still no good so sent him a video, his response that’s weird but will sell me a set of new rollers give me refund of $50.00 for the secondhand rollers ( charged $60.00 ) the total bill including the refund was $137.00. The rollers can be bought at recommended retailers for $129.00 plus $12.00 postage. Contacted [Name Removed] ( Zodiac ) explaining my experience where they said they will send me a email with case number where I reply and can state my frustrations, received a email saying that the warranty period is over no case number, so bought a set of tile rollers online and installed unit still won’t climb walls so $415.00 later with same issue
Best Decision to buy a robot pool cleaner – I felt it was time to upgrade to a robotic pool cleaner and bought the zodiac cx 35 on black Friday sales Nov 2019 for $1159 from pool and spa warehouse. Best thing I ever did. We have a 12m by 6m by 2.2m deep pebblecrete pool, surrounded by Turpentine Trees which drop those annoying nuts and during spring the fine white hairs when they flower.… Read more · 1
This robot took all the work out of cleaning the pool. Virtually No more brushing , no more manual vacuuming (threw it out). Having the robot be completely independent of the pool filtration system reduced all my workload , push a button and let it go. Sucks up all the debris including the turpentine nuts and just about anything that can fit up the opening. Love this Thing.......
THEN my heart was nearly broken ... in September 2021 the love affair almost ended ,my robot would start , drive ahead for a few metres and sit there(2 months out from end of warranty!!). I contacted P&SW who organised a warranty call with Fluidra. The robot was couriered in and repaired under warranty. By the time I got the robot back the pool was a mess, I dropped it in and let it go. Made short work of the debris and pool back to crystal...phew tragedy averted. I was told that the electric motor in them do go. I was lucky that mine went in the warranty period. The new motor should last another couple of years.
Both Pool and spa warehouse and Fluidra were great with communication and covering the replacement motor under warranty.
I have had no problems with tracks or the brushes ,The only thing that has disapointed me with this unit is the longevity on the motor as mentioned by others in the reviews and my own experience. I will be buying another robot down the track and will do my homework a little deeper on the next purchase. I feel the manufacturer should probably back these units with a bit longer warranty than 2 years if it is known that these units fail early. Apolos for the long read I do recommend the Zodiac cx35 cleaner but want others to be aware of my experience.
Day 180 & it still gets 5 Stars – I first reviewed 6mths ago and the CX35 has been a godsend. Affordable and haven't vacuumed since day of purchase. Autumn came and all the tree's that have all lost leafs, the CX35 took care of every one of them and again no vacuum.. The only issue i encountered was one track came off a couple of times but I worked out that the pool was running… Read more · 2
~30+degs and the rubber loosened a touch. Dropped the temp & the issue rectified and hasn't happend since. . Cant recommend highly enough....
Assembly is pretty easy, though I had to search the web for operating instructions, not that it's rocket science. More about understanding program times etc. Some of you may say it's going to be a false economy by going with the cheaper one but I have to say A$1549 (& 100micron basket) for the CX35 vs; A$2600 > A$3000 for equivalent Dolphin products, I thought I'd chance my arm and maybe have to pay a fools tax later on, but at least I would have an understanding. My Pool is 10 x 5mtrs QuartzOn finish, Along 1 wall there is a ledge the full 10mtrs, the other side there is a swim up with 3 Steps. I do have in-floor cleaning however there always seems to be some organic residue floating around the floor. Being time poor and having many tree's nearby vacuuming has become a chore and the thought of regular scrubbing of the floor and walls does my head in. Yes a first world problem. Those of you that have a Quartz surface will understand that scrubbing it is a right pain.
Day 1, The unit was faultless, It zoomed around scrubbing the floor & walls and to be honest that was all I was hoping for. BUT WAIT THERE's MORE. This little beauty not only climbed the walls and scrubbed the waterline it regularly navigated the ledge & all 3 stairs. Yes it did the hard yards. I will check back in 6-months post summer and give an update, however after Day 1 it’s a yes from me.. The Unit was purchased from the Pool & Spa Warehouse and the Box arrived interstate within 48hrs.

Update on the Zodiac CX35 – I know I commented on the fact that the Sample Video showed an almost clean pool to start with, thus making the unit seem "marvellous" in doing it's job. However I have had on numerous occassions over the last two years been subjected to: heavy winds - thusly dirt, leaves and and small debris. The CX35 DOES what it was designed for. A 90 minute sweep has ALWAYS cleared the lot and left the pool virtually spotless. It is worth the money. Show details
A mixed bag, but does work well – Initially, a good cleaner does its job with minimum fuss. But close to the warranty then the controller starts to fail. Mine has died now, on a week where I really needed it to work. - Kudos to the company - they honoured warranty and fixed the unit. It still survives but needed a new motor last year (2023). If I am honest it does work well . . . Show details · 2
Exhaust Valve Fix – If you find your CX35 is not cleaning the best it could be the exhaust valves need replacing. They are easy to check. Pull the filter out and see if they are starting to break up. I’ve attached a couple of photos to show the fix. Just need to remove four screws from the bottom and pullout the panel. Replace valves then reinstall with a Phillips head screwdriver. Show details

Terrible!! Broke down 5 times in 2 and 1/2 years – These things are really good when they are actually functional. The problem is that they will only work for 6-8 month then they will break down and need repair. In the 2 and a half years I have owned mine I had to sent it in for warranty claim 4 times (always removed from pool after use) !!! I requested to have new unit sent to me after third… Read more
repair but Zodiac refused to send me a replacement unit. My robot is now out of warranty and has broken down for the 5th time!!!! I may be looking into taking further action against Zodiac! Please if you are reading this review purchase a diffrent brand these are just not reliable.
Known fault with control panel – Had this machine 12 months and control panel stopped working , under warranty control panel was replaced now just under 12 months from replacement control panel went again , zodiac have arranged for new control panel , hopefully this one lasts as machine is a good solid machine. It's been great . The pool has never looked better. UPDATE Over 2 years on and going strong – Easy to assemble and use . The pool has never looked better . Much better than creepy crawler . And can now run the pool filter less because it is now more efficient. Show details
Lasted 4 years – Died after 4 years, needs new motor box but these are expensive so not worth fixing. Vacuumed well but didn't clean whole pool in one session. (missed sections) Show details
Initially great – Our zodiac is now 6 yrs old. However being pool owners for over 30 yrs we have had many pool cleaners. When we bought our Zodiak CX 20 it was expensive in comparison to some, but we were well pleased with its performance. Our pool is covered and gets little use so the main debris is the few leaves that sneak under the edges of the cover and sand… Read more
blown in by our easterleas. Last year it required repair. Taking into account the costs for a new one we paid out the $800 to replace motor block and both tracks and cleaning rollers. This season put into pool and stops after 5 mins or so. Advised it is probably the controll unit, which will be around $400 . In hindsight we probably should have replaced said same cleaner last time. We worked out the approx use this cleaner has had over 6 years I am not sure it has been value for money. I will probably look at other cleaners to compare before buying another Zodiac.

Completely failed after just 3 years - $1,200 to repair now. Not happening – Quote for cost to repair - $1,195 Cost to purchase - $1,400 Used for 6 months per year, once per week. Kept washed with tap water after (every) use. Didn't haul out of pool with cord etc. - Motor plus cord failed simultaneously. Was warned by 2 independent pool shops "These are a really expensive brand to repair. I'll warn you" Honestly - avoid.… Read more
2 stars, not one - It worked apart from replacing tracks. Cheaper and more effective models from Dolphin or there.
Amazing cleaner – We have used this for 4yrs and it is amazing. Never had a problem with it, Cleans the pool stairs and right up the walls (large fibreglass pool) It does or can fill up pretty fast of theres a lot of debris in the pool but so easy to take out the net part and clean and throw back in the pool and off it goes again. A lifesaver for us!!! I would definitely recommend it and it still looks pretty new after all the work it has done. Show details
Waste of money! – Tried CX35 for our tiled pool(tiled pool version which has the foam roller). It got stuck in corners. Returned it got another one same issue. Zodiac said looks like it doesn't have enough torque to go up the wall which was not really the case because I was using floor only program!! Ended up returning it! Show details
From new, not what we expected – Have had trouble from day dot but thought will give it a fair trial. Was told it is suitable for our sized pool but seems to do half the pool only. Spends most of the time trying to climb the walls when it's set for floor only. I'm wondering how many hours does it take to do a 12mx4.5m pool. 3 hours and it had only cleaned half the pool. Basically we have to pick it up and physically move it. Show details
Good clean - Don't last long enough for value though – The cleaner was purchased in June 2019. Some of the high wearing parts (tyres) were replaced after 2 years, which I consider normal wear and tear. My pool is a pebblecrete surface which could account for the wear on the tyres. After three years of once per week use it is worn out and not working, the drive gears appear to have failed. I have tried… Read more
to keep it very well looked after but now the machine looks old and tired so I can't imagine that anyone would get one to work for much longer than three years. The impeller still works, but it faults out once it tries to move. The seals around the basket are looking tired now (they do not appear to be a replaceable item). As a cleaner it worked quite well, cleaning the waterline and removing the finer dust with the fine filter.
Died 3 months after warranty – I had this Robot cleaner for just over 2 years. This was my first Robot pool cleaner and I was extremely happy. The cleaner was picking everything. I could find small things such as my daughter's earrings to massive pool cleaning after house renovation. Suddenly one day the robot stop moving and the "i" light was flashing. I rang the manufacturer… Read more
immediately. They showed no any interest after the they found out the robot was out of warranty. I went online and I found out that this was a common problem. People were trying to fix the issue by themself. I was wondering why? I spoke to the local pool shop and they said that would cost $ 1,200 to repair it. Very very disappointing. The repair costs were the same as I bought it new. How could I take another risk reading through the similar experience other people had. Yes, it is a good machine but is not acceptable that after 2 years dies.
Historical problem – Did all my research 3 years ago when purchasing the CX35 and had glowing reviews. Like most bad reviews here I have suffered the same fate as most with the unit dying at the 3 year mark, 1 year out of warranty. Has internal corrosion due to poor motor housing seal. Time for a manufacturer with a better warranty. Show details
Zodiac CX35 – Dirt leaves seeds sticks. General small rubbish. The pool cleaner storage stand is great for using then storing away. The control centre is also very easy to use. Great unit for much less than other similar products Show details
Very poor product – Very poor quality, would not recommend or buy again. Three motors replaced, one under warranty. Poor service and no longer done by Zodiac due I suspect to the product quality. Cable tends to tangle easily as it does not have a swivel. Show details
