Have just joined but found the process to be very easy. The rates seem competitive compared to the massive increase with my previous supplier. Only reason it isn’t a 5 is that the feed in tariff is still quite low although higher than many others. Show details ·  1

signed up online and told no transfer date. called 2 business days later and told they couldn't tell me and would need to call me back. never got a call back. called again and still couldn't be told a date and someone would give me a call back. at this point i'm done waiting. i've changed providers Show details

Their rates rose rapidly, and the final straw was when I moved out of my apartment just before halfway through the month. They had already told me the amount I would be charged for the full month — meaning they knew exactly what the bill would be — and still billed me for the entire period. My final bill ended up the same as a full monthly bill, even though I wasn’t living there.

I will never use this provider again.

Customer service is polite, but unable to do anything about overcharging and inefficiency of a meter reader. My gas meter is very accessible (close to the street, no fences, gates, plants etc), but the meter reader did not read it. As a result I received an estimate that was WAY in excess of my usage. the next bill arrives to claim a refund. If I want this refund earlier I must pay for a reading. So in effect I have to pay extra for someone to do the job that wasn't done correctly the first time!

Pretty solid experience with FirstEnergy overall. The service has been reliable, billing is easy to manage online, and customer support has been helpful when needed. Outages don’t happen often, and when they do, they usually get resolved pretty quickly. Show details

Next step - I plan to transfer my business electricity account to 1st Energy as I have determined that 1st Energy provides an exceptional and superior professional service. The service rates are very competitive, and I was not required to sign up for a fixed plan to secure those rates. I highly recommend 1st Energy if you are considering a new energy plan.

The interaction was non volatile and the response was quick and efficient with little disruption to the current capacity and delivery of electricity.
