Non existent customer service and invasive contact form forcing me to accept 'cold calling' etc without any choice. Was looking to join but have now gone elsewhere. 1. instead but you cannot submit the form unless you accept their invasive requirements of, 'cold calling', 'door to door sales' etc without ay other choice. 3. Have now advised the Energy Comparison site but doubt anything will be changed. Have now gone elsewhere.

Read this before you sign up. 1St Energy are one of the highest. which I found out too late. Our Gass bill was $1694 which is around 25% higher than many others i have now found online. Turns out, 1St Energy charge 0.01 Cents per Mj over most. Around 25% more.

AGL start at 0.034 Mj Cents and go as low as 0.02 cents per Mj. AGL work out to be much cheaper. SO PLEASE Look around first!

Just do NOT start with these guys which BTW I found via the compare the markets sites. Don’t trust these guys anymore either as the promote the ones they want you to buy to the top of the list it seems.

All I suggest, especially if it’s a big house, start with AGL, then work out the your monthly numbers to correctly compare with other providers.

In the 2 Images are the rates I used to compare my usage values from the AGL and 1ST ENERGY Websites.

Have just joined but found the process to be very easy. The rates seem competitive compared to the massive increase with my previous supplier. Only reason it isn’t a 5 is that the feed in tariff is still quite low although higher than many others. Show details ·  1

 Follow-up  · Well the verdict is in... 1st energy is no good! Our last billing from our previous provider was an average of $40-$60/ month and now with 1st energy instead of being in credit as we were assured at signing, now we are faced with a $114 bill for an average month of use...three thumbs down from me and I'm sure anyone else that wants savings. Very poor outcome after the heroic sales pitch to get us to sign.

actually explaining the charges.

Their rates rose rapidly, and the final straw was when I moved out of my apartment just before halfway through the month. They had already told me the amount I would be charged for the full month — meaning they knew exactly what the bill would be — and still billed me for the entire period. My final bill ended up the same as a full monthly bill, even though I wasn’t living there.

I will never use this provider again.

Customer service is polite, but unable to do anything about overcharging and inefficiency of a meter reader. My gas meter is very accessible (close to the street, no fences, gates, plants etc), but the meter reader did not read it. As a result I received an estimate that was WAY in excess of my usage. I must pay this charge and wait 2 months until… Read more

the next bill arrives to claim a refund. If I want this refund earlier I must pay for a reading. So in effect I have to pay extra for someone to do the job that wasn't done correctly the first time!
