Terrible company delivering an awful customer experience. I bought some sandals in their "sale" - noting this amounted to a miserly few dollars off, which disentitles the customer to an exchange for a different size. This is ridiculous and the communication from the company was poor quality and rude. Product was average at best and very expensive . Avoid at all costs. Show details
Super comfy shoes but both sole has cracked and bits are falling off everywhere after only 3 weeks of light wear. Only worn inside carpet and vinyl area of shopping center
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’ve just bought three different pairs of shoes from Ascent Footwear and I couldn’t be happier. The quality is outstanding, they’re so supportive, and I know from past experience they’ll last for years. That’s exactly why I keep coming back—because every pair delivers on comfort, durability, and reliability. It’s rare to find shoes that tick all the boxes, but Ascent truly does. Highly recommend! Poor quality and zero customer service – My son has always had ascent footwear throughout his school years as they are just so comfy and has always lasted until he needs a new size. This year is the first time the shoes came up looking more broken than a whole year of wear. And we are only in March ( so 1 and 1/2 of wear) . Contacted ascent who didn’t want to know about it or give advice… Read more
as it’s against their policy I was told . Ascent told me to go back to the retailer eventho it was sent direct from ascent HQ. Such poor form and unfortunately has lost me as a loyal customer
keep sending faulty shoes – Ive been wearing Ascent Zest for a few years, now on my 3rd pair. I bought my fourth pair as they look good and are so comfortable! However, when received after a 3 weeks the soles started coming apart. Sent them back for replacement which they duly replaced...great service...thankyou. Well there you go within three weeks the same thing happens.… Read more
Trouble is these are the only work shoes I have so sending them back is difficult. So I went to their main dealer to enquire about buying another pair. Much to my dismay they told me , yes Ascent had a known problem with soles coming off Zest shoes, but this had been fixed with the new model. To replace $220 for Ascent II shoes. I paid $140 online with Ascent. thought I was getting a first quality shoe as I had done the previous 3 pairs I bought. Apparently Ascent II shoes are good, original Zests have the faulty soles, yet they keep sending out the old ones with faulty soles to replace faulty sole ascent Zests. Now that's poor form from Ascent, particularly to a loyal customer of many years. They should replace faulty shoes with good ones. Whether it is Ascent Zest or Zest II. doesn't matter..a shoe is a shoe and customers expect them to be good quality, hard wearing and up to spec with a quality brand such as Ascent!..you need to fix this Ascent!
Ascent Alpha 2 – I have the same issue as all on this site. Ascent Alpha 2 work boots expensive, but sole is pathetic. The sole completely disintegrates after short term use. Do not buy these boots. Show details

Best work boot available – I've been working in workbooks for over 30 years. The Ascent Alpha 2 are now my go to. I've had two pairs in four years. About to but another pair. Best workboot out there. Show details
After 2 years: still like brand new! – I bought a pair of Contours 2 years ago and have worn them almost everyday to work. I bought them because I had a knee injury and wanted to support my arch and my knee. They are brilliant and still look like new and are the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. If they ever wear out, I'll buy another pair! Show details
Ascent Avara is incredibly good! – My wife is a busy Registered Nurse in aged care. On-shift, she is responsible for some 60 beds in a high care facility and during a normal shift, she can cover about 10km around the facility which includes up and down stairs (tracked with an app on her phone). After a shift, she often walked home, about 3km. Incredibly, her Avaras lasted 8 years,… Read more
and they still have life in them!! There are no signs of delamination and the inner soles are still in remarkably good condition and quite serviceable. She has always said they have been the most comfortable shoes she has ever owned and said if it were up to her, she would mandate them for all nursing staff. She was joking of course as she does not believe in mandates, but these shoes from an Aussie company have certainly proved themselves. :)

I purchased a pair of Groove Sandals from an Ascent stockist. The sandals.were comfortable and helped with my foot pain. However they broke within a week. I returned them and over 2 months later I still don't have any shoes. Very disappointed with the company. It was a very easy repair or could have been replaced. I wouldn't buy with them again as they don't back their product. Show details
Paid $139.99 school shoes and only lasted 11 months – Bought the Ascent scholar junior girls school shoes and paid $139.99 at the time and it only lasted 11 months (June 2023 to July 2024). I was expecting it to last longer as our previous $24 Kmart shoes lasted the same amount of time. Damage was to the front of the shoes which had a big hole.
Deceitful warranty strategies – I purchased the ascent school shoe for my daughter that had a 12 month warranty period. The shoe has lasted 7 months. I took them back to Athletes Foot where I bought them and they said that because I had not registered them online, the warranty was not valid. I was not told this when I bought them and given the fact that Athletes Foot has the… Read more
receipt on file and is a supplier of Ascent, I find it all underhanded and dishonest! They said “sorry” but that dissent change the matter!

Vision - Sole peeling – I have purchased the Ascent Vision runner for a number of years now. They seem to be failing at a faster rate, in that the centre part of the "three part sole" (which contains the circle) is separating from the sole. My first pair took a couple of years and my current pair has taken less than a year. Very disappointing as I like the runner in most other aspects. They are an expensive shoe ($200), so I expected better longevity. Show details
Terrible shoes that don’t last – Have bought my son Ascent shoes since kindy. I did notice they didn’t last the full school year but always thought it was close enough. This year his shoes lasted less than three months being worn three days a week! There is a massive hole where the toe is. The shoe laces must also be terrible quality as they always last two weeks until I… Read more
replace them with the supermarket brand.
I emailed Ascent who said return through the store and the store say it’s Ascents problem. So fobbed off by both it seems. I’ve put a claim in, waiting for response.
Serious Manufacturing Issues – The good points about Ascent shoes are their great comfort and amazing cushioning. Unfortunately though, Ascent CLEARLY have a MAJOR quality control issue with their shoes. Someone from Ascent needs to fly to the factory manufacturing these shoes in South East Asia pronto and get this sorted out. The soles on these shoes are quite frankly… Read more
pathetic. They split and literally peel away from the rest of the shoe in such a short space of time. This can happen anywhere from within 3 weeks to 2 months of normal wear. I have no doubt that they are totally aware of these issues and after returning shoes time and time again, I am saying goodbye to Ascent, I will never buy again or recommend this brand.
Ascent work boots – Just returned second pair since March … Never in 10 years have I seen such poor workmanship from ascent… Reading prior reviews they have a big problem in manufacture and are burying there head in the sand…. Show details
Sounded good, but in reality were disappointing – I was recommended Ascent safety boots by my podiatrist and after reading the product information on their website, the Oxide boots seemed suitable with their mid-sole stability and arch support and the company’s quality approach to footwear. I tried the Oxide’s on in an Athletes Foot shop and they felt okay. However, after one day of working in… Read more
them, I started getting sore knees and upper back (even with my orthotics in them). They didn’t feel supportive at all. Disappointed to have wasted my money
Annoying fault – I bought a pair of brown creed 3's. They are superb walking shoes, well padded, excellent support, reasonable weight, and a beautifully gripping sole. But unfortunately the shoes are so different in colour that I look like I'm wearing shoes from two different pairs. So I find myself with a superbly comfortable pair of shoes that will never be worn… Read more
anywhere but a walking track because of poor quality control when matching pairs. Very disappointing, and for the price, not good enough.
Lasted 2.5 months – Spent double for the Ascent Apex shoes for my son and they lasted 2.5 months. The front sole wore away then broke off. No refund from the retailer. Not as great as they sound, warranty not honoured Show details
Split seams but classed as "fair wear and tear" – After wearing my Ascent Alpha workboots for about 9 months, I felt they were becoming sloppy and I needed to do them up tighter to keep them feeling firm. I noticed I was getting small amounts of gravel and dirt inside the boots. On looking closely at the boots I could see the leather had come away from the soles on the outside edge of booth… Read more
boots. I returned them to Athletes foot and they informed me they returned them to the supplier. I was expecting they would be replaced, however the verdict, communicated to me from Athlete's Foot, ws that this is fair wear and tear. They went on to state that the life of work boots is usually around 6 months. Given that the boots cost $220, i feel that it is unacceptable to only get a 6 months of wear before they fall apart. Although the lining inside the boot is still intact and the outside leather is not worn and scuffed, they have decided this damage is fair wear and tear. How I can wear out the join but not the rest of the boot is beyond me. I note also that the leather in the front part of the boots appears to be a different quality from the ankle areas. When applying Dublin to the boots, the ankle area where the logo is embossed comes up nicely and even gets a bit of a shine to it. In comparison, the leather around the toe area is always has a scaly look to it and reminds me of a piece of jerky.
Ascent scholar shoes – Purchased a pair of ascent scholar shoes instore from Athletes foot. Outer heels on both shoes came away from the sole after 9 weeks of wear (five months after purchase). The manager in athlete's foot advised that he wasn't able to assess the shoes to determine whether they were faulty and that they needed to be posted to Ascent for assessment… Read more
leaving my child without appropriate shoes to wear to school. The manager also said he could not comment on whether the heels coming away was something that was likely to be assessed as a fault when they were received by Ascent. It placed us in the difficult position of having to purchase new shoes for our child to wear to school in order for the shoes to be left with Athletes Foot to send on to Ascent. I was told this process could take up to 3 weeks. In fact Ascent assessed them very promptly and confirmed it was a fault and I was then contacted by Athletes Foot to return back instore for a refund. A messy process but one with a satisfactory outcome.

Assent Delta shoes are very comfortable – Great shoes to wear and is very comfortable if you are on your foot all day. I have been wearing a Delta for good 10-12 years as I used to buy a pair from Athletes foot. But recently have been getting direct from Dominion cross. Only issue is the soles keeps splitting as I have complained before. Great customer service though and highly reccomended. I am going to get 1 pair soon. Show details · 1
Boots disintegrated within 3. Worst boots I've ever had. Bitterly disappointing – Purchased the boots in December on the recommendation of my podiatrist and the retailer, by the end of March, the sole had split and started peeling off. This is a totally unacceptable outcome. I have worked in the building industry as an electrician for 30 years, and have never had a pair of boots disintegrate so quickly. In my opinion, these… Read more

I am now in a position, where in the middle of a health crisis, I have no work boots and limited shops open to find and try new boots - fantastic!
Useless.
Oxide (Steel) (4E) Black (Male/Senior) - Size 7.5 - fell apart after 15 months – I work as a physiotherapist in a hospital - involves about 10000 steps per day of walking in the hospital. The outer sole began to crack and chip after 3-4 months. The bottom of the sole fell off after 15 months. I would expect a pair of runners to last longer than that! Do not buy these. Show details

Ascent Alpha 2 (4E) Women’s black safety Boots – 100% Love these boots. Fantastic support and comfort. Funny sizing though. Had to go down a size in my regular shoe size. Not sure about wear and tear as I’ve only been wearing them about a month. The AUS safety standards match steel cap boots as this is a composite boot. I’m very happy with that. Bit pricey but at this stage well worth the cost. Show details · 3
Brilliant products, brilliant customer service! – In a day and age where good products and good customer service are a rarity, ASCENT Footwear really are the best of the best! Bravo for creating excellent footwear for my children, and bravo team for excellent delivery and shipment detail. I am a repeat customer and will continue to shout from the rooftops to other parents how good your products are. Thank you :) Show details · 1
Flawed Customer Service – Given a lot of the shoes sold by this organisation cannot be purchased in store, with only select varieties available to try in store, one can only resort to making purchases online without really knowing if they will be a good fit. I since experienced great discomfort and injury with the new pair purchased and was told that I could get it… Read more

Despite sending them the exact email that indicated this by their team, the representative merely restated the terms and conditions. Comfortable but dont last – Im onto my second pair of alpha work boots. Comfortable to wear but both pairs have failed in 5 months with the sole splitting across the ball of the foot. Total disappointment Alpha safety boots – I work 12 hour shifts and i am on my feet all day. I bought these boots as they claimed they are safety boots more like sneakers.
