I have used this convenient facility for many years and this was the first time I made a claim. Had to cancel a flight (and book an earlier one) due to illness of my mother in the Netherlands. Flight Centre wasn't hopeful of my claim being successful due to the resulting death being at my destination instead of here, but Cover-More kindly paid. Show details

I took insurance with Cover-More before attempting a climb to the summit of Mt Kilimajaro in Tanzania, Africa. The 10 day climb by the Northern Route was in October, 2025. straightforward and Cover-More approved the claim. It took about 3.5 months to obtain approval but the delay was because I thought I had forwarded an additional, requested document but when Cover-More emailed me why they hadn't heard from me, I discovered I had not done so. Upon receipt of that document, Cover-More were quick in approving the claim. This was my first time using Cover-More. I am very happy with the service provided.

and they contacted Covermore on my behalf as I was incapacitated. Everything went ahead relatively smoothly and stress free for me. I had regular phone calls from staff at Covermore with updates and various things I had to inform them of. As I needed surgery there were options discussed about having surgery in Thailand or being flown back to Australia for treatment. I was leaning towards surgery in Thailand and after discussing it with Covermore medical team, it was agreed that I be treated in Thailand. Good decision and great outcome. Im my opinion Covermore went above and beyond with how my claim was handled. All staff I spoke with by phone were extremely helpful and understanding of my situation. It was a stressful time for me but at no time did Covermore add to that stress. Once I returned to Australia I needed to put in a couple more claims for personal items damaged in Accident. I'm a dinosaur when it comes to all things computer so I actually needed to external help with these claims. I received emails and phone calls about these claims and was kept in the loop with what was happening. All aspects of my claims have been settled now and I can't thank Covermore and their staff enough. Anyone who travels without travel insurance is insane. You just never know. Medical costs in foreign countries is extremely expensive so being fully covered makes more sense than starting Go Fund Me page to try and raise the funds needed to cover everything. I can't recommend Covermore highly enough. They are next level Awesome.

I had a fall in Bali in December 2024 which resulted in lacerations and a badly broken nose. I was admitted to the BIMC Hospital for a few days, and needed surgery. good knowledge of the hospital and resolved my questions about the risks of surgery while overseas. They preapproved the hospital charges and regularly checked on my progress by phone. After I returned to Australia, they also approved my additional medical expenses paid for in cash during the holiday. They saved my trip, and there was no need to return to Australia early. I purchased insurance when Covermore were advertising a 15% discount. Not only was the discount not applied, but the policy was cheaper to purchase the day after the discount ended. Customer service was non existent. Bought myself a policy elsewhere (for less) and will never use Covermore again. Show details

Follow-up · No other claim costs. There was a bit of a delay in payment through my fault as I had put the incorrect Bank A/c numbers. My policy excess was $500.00. Overall very happy with the Insurance and the Company. I would recommend them to other travellers.

Follow-up · Our daughter Kellie paid for the second room. She was covered by the insurance for the holiday. She is a nurse and was needed to look after her mother. The room payments are covered by the printout on her credit card statement. They are similar to my credit card statement. The 8th/10th of may. You have all the paperwork there. Hope you can help. inexplicably included a dahs). - Held me on the phone for hours repeatedly without actually DOING anything for me. - Given me countless sentences starting with "should" while thinking that the same action might result in different outcomes. - Not investigated to matter properly. - Not made the payment on the day promised. - Given me unrealistic timelines. - Refused to put me through to team leaders. - Not called me back when promised. - Hung up on me - And only initiated complaints proceeding when I threaten with the Ombudsman and media.
And now I have to wait another 30 days for the complaint to be finalised, while they still have my money and I can't pay my bills. THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED!

I’d also like to mention a previous experience from a year earlier in Vietnam during Typhoon Yagi, when our cruise and flights were cancelled. I called Cover-More upset and unsure of what to do or where to go. Even after our call was cut off, the consultant was able to locate me via the Cover-More app and call me back. No claim was ultimately needed, but the help, reassurance and genuine empathy I received were second to none. With her guidance, I was able to cancel and rebook flights directly with the airline.
Knowing that Cover-More truly cares about their customers makes all the difference!! Highly Recommend.

Stay away from this company. They like taking money from customers but when you need them, it takes them 1 month to reply only to be told they will reject the claim. Even if you are legally (according to QLD government websites) entitled to get compensated, they will refuse to help and blanket everything as “you shouldve have read the terms and conditions”. One of the worst Services I've dealt with. No communication wont respond. Horrible Experience – Flights were cancelled due to Covid. Unable to get anyone on the phone so I did an online claim.
