We estimate this machine has made around 10000 cups in 6 years. Still going strong with proper servicing when light indicates. Looking for our next one (it hasn't died yet) and pretty sure it will be another MagnificaS. Delivers a nice crema. Easy to use Pre sets are great. Couldn't be happier with this purchase. It worked very well till it died after just 3 years of not very intensive use. Internal water leak, all the steam and water go inside the machine, nothing reaches the cup. Looks like should be an easy fix, but absolutely unrepairable at home, as the manufacturer intentionally used star shaped screws with a dot in the middle that sit very deep… Read more
inside the body. Bought already 2 sets of star shaped screwdrivers, they do not fit: too short. Not worth taking to repair shop as the repair will easily cost 2/3 of the brand new machine. Definitely not buying DeLonghi again as I do not want to give my money to a company who intentionally design their products in this way.
I’ve owned my De’Longhi ECAM22.110.B for around three years and, up until recently, it was part of my daily routine. the dial suddenly snapped. There was no excessive force, no misuse, and the machine has always been cleaned and maintained according to the manual. When the tab broke, a sharp piece of plastic sliced into my thumb, causing a painful injury. A critical control like the steam/hot water dial should last the lifetime of the machine. It should certainly not fail during normal operation, and it definitely shouldn’t break in a way that creates a cutting hazard. Although my unit is out of warranty, this is not normal wear and tear, it’s a structural failure of a safety‑relevant component. I believe the manufacturer needs to take this seriously, both for customer safety and product reliability. If you’re considering purchasing this model, I strongly recommend being aware of this issue. A machine at this price point should not have components that degrade to the point of causing injury. I hope De’Longhi addresses this fault and supports customers who experience it.

it had done. An optimist if there ever was one. For $499 * special price, it is brilliant. If you spend $5 a day buying 1 coffee, you could buy one of these machines every 3 months and still save money. I pay $12 a kilo for beans, that is 125 shots. Less than 10c each. I have used all the other brands and most of De Longhi's machines, they are the best in the business.

shots at the same quality and strength as our other 2 machines at a fraction of the price. The other buttons simply change the amount of water per shot. So pick a button to your likely and you're all set. We also bought a "Breville Cafe Milk Frother" to go with it as a "safer/cleaner" option which produces perfect frothy or flat white milk instead of using the Steam Ward on the DeLonghi which is fiddly and takes time to master on any brand of machine. Delonghi is easy to keep clean. Water tank on right slides out/forward & easy to fill. We use a Iron water fill cup instead of carrying the tank to the sink. Noise is a little quieter than Jura and miles quieter than Breville Oracle. Coffee bean hopper on top is a little weird in shape making it fiddly to get beans into it without missing. As least the beans don't jam up in the hopper cage like they do our $3,800 Jura giving you random 1/4 shots. Higher priced brands have design problems too. Can't comment on its Steam Ward, don't intend to use it.

Pull awesome shots – I have the newer black ECAM22110B. I am very happy with this machine. Good adjustment options such as coffee grinder size and temperature settings. Which needs to be adjusted to suit your coffee beans. I use quality lighter to medium roasts and I pull awesome shots every time consistently. ✅ When grinder is operating adjust grinder setting to the lowest setting then back it off to suit taste. Highest temperature ✅ Hold B3 down when machine is turned off but on at the PowerPoint. Lights will come up on the machine. Then press B3 till you turn on all the lights then press B8 to select the highest temp.
Hint: The Milk steamer is better without the outer Pannarello wand connected. Latte art is easily achievable.
Hands down best semiautomatic machine in this price range and will pull comparable shots to a full manual and grinder setup without the mess or time needed.

phoned Delonghi to ask where we could take it for repair, and after the CSR established that it wasn't that much out of warranty, she said they would repair it free of charge. Not only that, but as she established the closest service centre was over 40 minutes from us (probably a little over an hour), she said they would also pick it up and return it, which they did without any issues. I highly recommend Delonghi coffee machines. We have recently been lucky enough to have won a fully automatic $2000 Delonghi machine (which I will review after a testing period) and this current machine was pounced on by my sister who has always enjoyed the coffee it makes.

friendly. After descalling my machine approx every 6weeks, the machine makes a horrible noise like something is stuck or in the wrong place and all warning lights come on. It doesn't do this after every clean, however has done a couple of times. I use quality roasted coffee beans and or ground coffee, so I am very happy with how my coffee tastes and turns out. I would look at a different brand of machine to purchase in the future as this was our first proper coffee machine. For the cost of the machine I was expecting a better steam wand, however have since been informed that I am used to commercial coffee machines and what I was after would be at least double the price. So I will shop around in future. This is still a very good domestic machine that is easy to use and clean, it produces good quality coffee and saves us money on take away coffee.

required. The steaming wand, although slow, produces excellent foam for cappuccinos, flat whites, hot chocolate etc. You can also dispense hot water for americanos/long blacks or tea. The settings out of the box required only a little tweaking to produce a very drinkable espresso. Miles ahead of any pod machine, and pretty close to commercial quality. My way of achieving this is to use top quality fresh espresso beans, grinder set to fine (don't forget to only adjust the grinder while it is grinding), coffee taste dial set to 80% and only using the single espresso button. For double espresso or stronger milk drinks, I use the single cup button twice, instead of the double cup button. Cleaning is easy, with used grounds easily accessible, and an easy to empty spill tray. The steam wand is also easy to clean by removing the easily detachable plastic head. Every time the unit powers on and off, it goes through a rinse cycle, keeping the coffee spout clean. Keeping in mind this is a budget automatic machine, build quality is excellent, and the black model looks great in the kitchen. This model has been around for quite a while so there are lots of resources online for cleaning, tips and tricks etc. I highly recommend this machine to anyone who wants great espresso, without the mess and effort involved with manual machines. It is also a perfect replacement for pod machines.

every morning. I also like the option to brew ground coffee, it lets me grind another kind of beans and still brew effortlessly. Of course, this is not what one can get from a good manual coffee machine + a good grinder, but it saves so much time! Very happy with the choice.

Great coffees everytime – I have had this machine for several years now and it hasnt missed a beat. There was one occassion however where some of the silver coloured plastic around the pour spouts just broke away, though this was just an aesthetics issue and Delonghi was quick to fix the issue even though it was out of warranty. The fourth I mentioned that I will get in touch with the Department of Fair Trade. I still not having a reply. I contacted the retailer and I am asking for returning thr machine and have a refund. I do not want to have another product from them, the Magnifica Evo also have the same issues.

38,078 brews and going strong – De Longhi have always made good machines. This machine was well priced at the time for me and after 8 years I have just had the grinder cleaned for the 2nd time. The metre reads 38,078 and the technician said it looks good to go another 20,000. Well worth the $490 I paid 8 years ago. The milk frother is manual but very easy to make quality froth and less finicky than an auto machine to clean etc. There are a lot of hidden adjustments you can make to temp and volume etc that require the instructions, so if you want to be a guru you can otherwise easy to keep as is. Personally I spent some time to increase the grind amount and reduce shot to 15ml. That way I do a double shot at 30ml for a stronger shot. Out of the box it is quite weak.

it is more fiddling, can only use one spoon at a time, and coffee is not as good as the beans. Also a mess if you forget to turn on the machine before filling.

am recovering from a brain disease and am unable to drive and there is no public transport where I live. So I cannot take the machine anywhere to be repaired and I can't even drive somewhere to buy a decent cup of coffee. This is unacceptable

and 5 weeks later returned to us even though we had since purchased another machine. Apparently there were various things were wrong with it and it was faulty from the start. We asked for store credit but were told no. It is still not producing good coffee and makes very strange noises when we turn it on. In our view it is a faulty machine which is not fit for purpose and we should be refunded. We have always had Delonghi Coffee machines and this leave us very disappointed.
