Rock Solid reliable - and great speed – I've been with them for just under 2 years, and the best internet I could hope for. They do as they promise, and the speed is so reliable. The AAPT backbone they use obviously is a clear step above the standard residential NBN competition. It does a family of 4 Video streaming both ways - haven't had a bottleneck. And I love the local support you speak to real people. It is only office hours - but you never need to call them as it just works Show details

Great little NBN provider – Having previously been with ABB and Superloop, I switched to FBB on their 1000/50 NBN plan via FTTP. I have now been with them about 9 months. They offer unlimited plans as well as plans with data-banking which is a really cool idea. The service has been rock solid throughout. I average around 915/45 speeds, even during peak times. could not fault it. The “business-grade” network that differs them from other providers is fantastic.

I have a SamKnows whitebox connected as part of the ACCC NBN monitoring and it has shown just how reliable the connection is (screenshot attached).

For anyone looking into NBN providers, Future Broadband is a great small, local company that really cares about its customers. Their customer service is miles ahead of the big telcos and the network performance for me, was even slightly better than the well known Aussie Broadband and Superloop.

Before you sign up, have a look on the Whirlpool forums and the Ozbargain site for sign-up specials and referral codes that will effectively waive the $35 setup fee and give you a slight discount.

What an upgrade! – Been with future broadband for 2 months now. So far so good. Using TPG as their upstream and told "business service" has proved true so far. Less latency variance compared to AussieBroadband. My speeds are more consistent and higher throughout the day and peak. Upload speeds are defiantly more higher and pinned to the peak speed I take out… Read more

(1000/50). Moving in 2 months to FTTP connection and will take out their 1000/400 $360 Unlimited connection. I have no problem recommending them to anyone, you pay a little extra on the lower tier plans, but their Perth customer service picks up in seconds if you need them and their service delivers, not to mention the free static IP, IPv6 and other tools suited to the home business.

Ticks all my wanting boxes – Pros - static public ip, /30 network pay-as-you-go type of plan "business grade" tpg network excellent support when needed (I rang to check out cut-over time). reverse dns Cons - International latency is a tad higher than my previous ISP, but I can live with it as packet loss is lower for the sites I often. fist hop ping is 2ms lower, but for some reasons it seems to fluctuate a bit more that my previous ISP. Show details

Rock solid reliable business grade service for Home and SOHO users – Brilliant speeds, reliable connectivity, highly trained Australian based staff. Perhaps the only ISP in Australia offering a genuine business grade service to home and small business users at such a good price. Excellent! – I've got multiple NBN connections - one for home and one for my business. I've been jumping between providers for years with the Aussie Broadband being the dominate choice. Overall, the speed was always consistent but there were regular outages. Never really cared too much for the home connection but when you're trying to deal with clients and… Read more

"need" an internet connection, having it randomly drop-out during the middle of the day wasn't ideal. This was a frequent occurrence. At first I thought it was my hardware, so I went out and replaced it all including modem and router. It made no difference.

A little bit of back and forth between Aussie Broadband and SuperLoop over the years but still it never seemed quite right. While switching to SuperLoop solved the drop-out issues, speed and latency issues occurred, especially during peak periods.

After switching to and from ABB and SL multiple times, it was time to try something else.

This is where Future Broadband comes in.

I'd heard of the name before but never really thought much of them. I even vaguely remembering visiting their website (maybe 12 months ago) but due to the very basic, plain and boring nature of it, I was put off. This time however, due to many raving reviews (especially on Whirlpool.net.au) and furthermore, on websites like Product Review, I decided to investigate further.

After reading one final review on AusDroid (from memory) and acquiring a referral code, I decided to give them a go. I figured worst case scenario it doesn't work out, it costs me $90~ for the month, and I simply transfer back to ABB or SL. Best case... I find the reliable, stable, fast and consistent provider that I've been trying to find for years! I didn't really have much to lose but everything to gain.

Initially, I transferred my business account first as that's the one I primarily use and was suffering from the constant drop outs. The transfer happened seamlessly and I absolutely loved being able to type in the static IP addresses and almost immediately the connection was live! No DHCP.. which meant no waiting for the connection to go live. Even better when you reboot the modem/router - because you're not sitting there wondering "Is this thing going to connect? Is there something wrong? Do I wait longer or just reboot again?"

A week (almost two) later and not a single drop-out. Better still, speeds and latency are highly consistent regardless of time of day or night - peak or off-peak. It just works! Consistent download speeds of 90+Mbps and a consistent upload of 37+Mbps (100/40mb FTTN connection).

So I decided to switch the home connection as well. Lodged the request on Monday night. Sent through a message the morning of Tuesday to request if it could be connected same day and without an issue, they scheduled it for "Tuesday Afternoon from 1PM". About 1:15pm on Tuesday, the connection went live.

Once again, typed in those static IPs and the connection was there immediately. Initial speed tests via WIFI on my phone indicate a consistent download speed of 48+Mbps and a consistent upload of 18+Mbps (50/20mb FTTN connection).

I know it's still early days but I can't fault Future Broadband at all so far. Quick and easy to sign up. Consistently fast and stable. Great customer support. I'm hoping this is my ISP for many years to come.

Bonded Enterprise and Enterprise-Lite NBN is second to NONE! – We have two products from Future Broadband one Enterprise FTTB NBN 100/40 line and their Intel Nuc Bonded Unit (and associated bonded service). For reference the plans I refer to below are not intended for the home user and are far more targeted to business. Future does do home performance-grade internet as well (using the same network), but, the… Read more

plans we are on are definitely above and beyond your normal home internet. I can say though, running a business with heavy broadband needs, the Future Broadband service I have definitely hits the mark.

With that out of the way... The bespoke set up and configuration of the bonding unit was completed after FBB staff thoroughly consulted around our needs and existing internal environment. The team has been fantastic tweaking things as required, and having the Nuc fully managed makes it one less piece on my mind that I need to think (or worry) about.

The second NBN line we have bonded with the FBB NBN line is with a competitor to ensure cross-provider redundancy (so if one goes down, the other will hopefully remain functional), together the two 100/40 NBN fibre to the basement (FTTB) lines bond together to give 175mbits downstream and 75mbits upstream which has been solid all day every day!

We have not had any line drops, have not noticed any degradation of speed during peak periods (or indeed, at any time of the day). We have also noticed a significant improvement in international peering speeds far in excess of the underlying Small Business plan we have for the original line from the secondary provider.

In current times, it is great to know that we are supporting an Australian company with local Aussie support staff based out of Perth and everyone we have interacted with to date has a high level of technical knowledge.

High speed, reliable service (from FutureBB) – We switched more than a month ago from Telstra cable (115 DL/5 UL) to NBN-HFC with Future Broadband as provider. We selected the 100 DL/40 UL offering and 1.25TB monthly data usage. The decision seems to be a good one based on the consistent DL/UL speeds we achieve and the service from FutureBB. A week after the switch, we experienced daily brief… Read more

nuisance outages for more than a week. This was a NBN issue, but FutureBB responded the day we notified them. They soon confirmed their system also identified the outage, and had NBN out a few days later. Long story, but outages completely stopped 36 hours BEFORE NBN techs arrived and couldn't identify any problem. The point here is that FutureBB excelled in their role on this matter.

But what really counts in the long run is how fast and consistently the service provider's backhaul performs. FutureBB apparently uses AAPT business grade. Speedtest results are consistently between 92-95 Mpbs and uploads are 35-38 Mpbs throughout the day and evenings. These speeds are to/from Perth servers of Telstra and Node1 with ethernet cable from computer to router. Download speeds to/from other Perth servers (Vocus, Vodafone, AARNet, etc) are about 5 points slower but upload speeds are about the same as Telstra/Node1.

Testing through an old Airport wifi router hooked up to a powerline on the upper floor of our brick house consistently yields speeds above 90 mbps down and mid-30s up.

Overseas speeds are more varied, of course. But here are download speeds from Speedtest's servers in Los Angeles (70mbps), Amsterdam (64mbps), and Toronto (74mbps), tested late night midweek in Perth when these cities are midday or early evening. Upload speeds to these overseas sites are horrible at between 2-5 mbps.

FutureBB has VOIP phone packages, but we decided to go naked. We use mobile phones within OZ and Skype internet or Skype phone calls overseas (cheap -- and no cost for toll free numbers -- and much better than phone to ear for an hour!). We can also use FutureBB's pay as you go VOIP calls if necessary.

Overall, at least at our house with NBN-HFC, Future Broadband easily tops the "typical evening speeds" advertised by other internet service providers. Of course, your mileage will vary due to many factors, but I suspect AAPTs business backhaul and FutureBB's good service is above the crowd. Pretty good for a young start-up firm.

Background: We have had broadband since 2001 -- initially Telstra cable, then IINet ADSL, then Exetel ADSL, then Optus ADSL, then back to Telstra cable for most of the past decade. Previously used dial-up (yuch!) in Perth and overseas since approx 1987.

Good value NBN provider – Moved over from Aussie to Future to save some $$. Speeds seem good so far, and I don't have to pay extra for the faster upload.
