My Luxury – **Review of My Luxury Sedan** One of the most feature-rich luxury sedans I've ever owned. This car is incredibly beautiful and drives fantastically with its 2.4-liter motor. It offers a surprising mileage of 7.6L/100Km, and the motor is so silent that you hardly notice it running. When it comes to luxury, it has all the bells and whistles,… Read more
except for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. However, this isn't a significant drawback, considering this car was released in 2011, when these technologies weren't as popular.
In terms of maintenance, I stick to the 10,000 km service intervals, which keeps the car running smoothly and reliably. Overall, this car has been a joy to drive and hasn't given me much trouble at all.
Perfect Blend of sportiness and luxurious! – Car is a perfect daily driver commuting to and from work and heading out on the freeway on the weekends. It’s a comfortable machine and when you open VTEC and have the right tyres is a sporty drive. Economy wise is fantastic getting about 650 to a tank. Being nearly 160k expect all the regular maintenance issues for a 10 year old car - struts,… Read more
brakes, in tank fuel filter, but the cars nothing but reliable.
Negatives is minimal with a a tear in the drivers seat - it isn’t a bmw, tyres can cost a bit and the rear seat space is a little tight.
But all in all reliability, luxurious comfort and sporty car.
Euro s 2010 – Bought a Honda Accord Euro S 2010 for 6k with 181,000kms. Goes really well and get 7.5L per 100kms which is good. Changed the pvc vavle after watching youtube but every now and then it gets abit fumey then disappears. What would be causing that? Show details · 1

Amazingly reliable – Had mine for 10 years never skipped a beat. Would only ever buy Honda after my experience Show details
SOLID CAR MADE TO LAST – Honda Accord Euro is an absolute fun to drive sport car , my luxury model with almost 130,000 km shows no signs of engine or transmission problems in comparison with c class , BMW 325 or Audi A4 German technology cars ! I have driven numerous times my lovely Honda Euro on 14 hours long drive trips in various weather conditions ranging from - 10… Read more
c icy and snowy roads to 40 plus degree with air con at full capacity . I get 800 km on full tank of petrol with average speed of 120 km per hour . Very comfortable seats with super quiet ride plus well designed interior , so what else do you need from an everlasting Honda car .
My 2010 Accord Euro Cu2 is a Gem – The car is my daily commute car and used for camping / fishing / astrophotography trips. I drive it daily and enjoy every minute of it. I do oil / filters / transmission fluid myself regularly using top quality synthetic fluids. My only modification has been a stereo upgrade to an Alpine touch screen with navigation, Apple (and Android) Car Play,… Read more

Faultless Reliability and Performace – Bought in 2012 my Honda Euro Luxury Navigation has been the best car I have ever owned. A true sports sedan. The performance especially when VTEC has kicked in at 5000rpm is impressive and handling inspires confidence especially with the Michelin PS4 tyres now fitted. The cars reliability has been faultless and as soon as you lay eyes on it and… Read more
slip into its premium leather clad interior it makes me feel special every time I drive it. It feels like your putting on your best tailored Italian suit. Exterior sheet metal still turns heads even after 10 years which makes sense as its the same car as the legendary luxury Acura TSX which competes with Mercedes and BMW overseas. Make sure you service it as per schedule and it will reward you with bulletproof reliability. Built in Japan. The technology in this car is only now becoming standard in other cars after 9 years. As standard straight from factory it has the legendary K24 i-vtec engine with variable valve timing and lift on both intake and exhaust valves, forged crank/pistons and roller rockers. Also standard is double wishbone suspension, unique automatic transmission with manual internals, paddles on steering wheel, motion adaptive electric power steering system, twin piston brake calipers on front and GPS linked A/C system to name just a few of its class leading features. As these are not built any more anyone who owns one holds on to them making sure resale values have now bottomed and in fact going up. This is a Honda classic!
Competent mid sized saloon that could use more features – In 2012, I had a car accident where a drunk driver pushed me off the road. Everyone including police and panel beaters told me it will be a write off. That's because my car was an old Honda Accord. With that in mind and my need to have a ride for work, I immediately went to Honda dealer and looked at CRX, Civic, City and Accord Euro. All of them… Read more
apart from Civic looked like generic product, small rectangular LCD display between the speedo and tachometer for fuel gauge and everything else. Not very impressed at all. Looks like a cheap implementation.
Then wife and I looked at the Honda Accord Euro. It is bigger than my old Accord but it felt confident, well made and solid and we bought it. My old Accord is so nice (it is manual too), I was more than happy to get a newer Accord. Friend of mine had a 2008 Accord Euro and that was great. So I thought a 2012 Accord must be an improvement.
Well, it does feel comfortable, solid and glued to the road and quiet. But compared with my nimble old Accord, it feels sluggish, probably because it is quite a lot heavier and the drive-by-wire design. In fact, Honda increased thickness of the rear window to dampen the noise. If you are lead footed it would be great. Step on it and it is willing to go, especially pass 4000RPM. I am just too cost conscious to want to do that. I know I am not fair here because my old Accord is manual and I should have gone for manual if I really want a more engaging driving experience.
Back in 2012, lane assist, powered folding wing mirrors, rear vision camera, side detection, emergency stop, adaptive cruise control, etc weren't as common as now. All it has are ABS, traction control and airbags. Takata airbags of course which has been replaced. It was a shame to read in the manual which mentions quite a few of these modern safety features, only to state that they may not be available in some country. Anywhere where it says "May not" means you don't have it! There is no tech package, safety pack, luxury pack I can buy as add on even if I want to. I had looked multiple times and had to get some accessories overseas.
I don't like GPS built into the entertainment or infotainment system because that means it needs update and sometimes at cost. I much prefer to use my phone for that. Google Map, Tom Tom (aka Go) are great and this way I get great screen, voice control, powerful CPU, regular updates and more. Having this evolving tech built in to the car just didn't make sense to me. How often does your mobile app require an update? Therefore, I went for the Luxury model rather than the top of the range Luxury Navi version which costs several thousands more.
That said, I get a smallish black & white LCD screen rather than a colour screen. I had changed the radio on my old Accord 2x so it has CD, bluetooth and just about everything the new Accord Euro's premium audio system has. It is much harder to change the radio in CU2. The whole middle console has to be changed so it gets a hole to put the radio in. Haven't done that and probably won't do it. No Naim or B&W or Meridian sound system but it sounds decent enough with subwoofer and some 10 drivers altogether.
Luxury Navi does come with rear vision camera which I would love to have. I would have liked to have DRL such as angel light like BMWs do. There is only 1 USB port in the middle console in the arm rest. Could have been in the console so there is no long cable dangling. It also can use a larger capacity battery. My old Accord has a 550CCA battery while CU2 only has a 410CCA battery. Thus, my old Accord feels a lot more willing even though its battery health is worst. I had that tested! Read my battery charger review at https://www.productreview.com.au/r/ctek-mxs-5-0-test-charge/1616316.html.
The Mitchelin Supremacy tires that came with the car are great. The wheels look great and are 18". They are not as quiet as some but they have great grip and lasts.
Unlike my old Accord, CU2 doesn’t autolock. The old Accord central locks automatically based on the time I set - 30/60s. So good that I have almost forgotten I need to lock the car. That said, I would like proximity key and electronic start button. Not that I think they are awesome technologies. But because my Accord Euro keys are some $600 to replace, so the dealer tells me. That's ridiculous. I would also appreciate more leg room in the back seats and a slightly bigger boot. All the hooks in the boot is a nice touch. Lastly, I much prefer a full size spare wheel than one of those space saving pancake wheel for spare.
Thank God that Honda seems to be slowly picking up its game, starting with the introduction of HRV. What a shame that Accord Euro line has been axed in Australia where I am, especially since Accord Euro was the best selling Honda vehicle in Australia. Very sad indeed. With the omission of Accord Euro, my brand loyalty is gone and I will probably look elsewhere for my next ride.
Great looking, comfortable and powerful for its class – DESIGN: The exterior body design of this car is extremely nice. It's aggressive, sporty and stands out from the crowd. In my opinion, it's the most attractive <$50,000 sedan on the road with the exception of the BMW 325i which also costs $10,000 more. The use of appropriate symbols, labels and their positioning is very intuitive. You can tell a… Read more
lot of time was invested in the interior design and it's a pleasure to look at.
The interior designer deserves an award. All buttons and knobs are in arms reach and exactly where you would expect them to be. While there's plenty of leather and soft rubber materials used, there's some questionable cheap plastic additions (the type you would expect in a child’s toy), used for the door handles and running all the way from the centre console and across the dash which really lets down the overall luxury feel. The instruments panel is the best looking one I have ever seen. It's excellently designed and features a 3D design and really pops thanks to the great blue/white lighting.

COMFORT: I'm 160 CM tall and find this car to be more than spacious enough.
• Great seats with decent bolters to keep you in position.
• Adjustable centre console arm reset.
• Dual cup holders
• Glasses holder

AUDIO / VIDEO / COMMUNICAITON:
Firstly, the 10 speakers Premium Sound System is incredible. The split tweeters at the front are great at reproducing high frequencies and the traditional woofers are capable of a lot of bass (this is adjustable). I'm very unimpressed with the subwoofer and it completely fails at high volumes. This car is an absolute pleasure to listen to music in - Well done Honda.
The display panel is very outdated and does not hold up well compared to >2015 cars. I have the 'non-navi' luxury version which does not have the GPS screen and also doesn't have bluetooth. I'm very disappointed that Honda did not include a stock screen with bluetooth, capable of connecting to smart devices and displaying song information. Aftermarket headunit’s are practically impossible to install in this car due to the way Honda integrated the sound system. The only way to have an aftermarket screen installed via a complete overhaul of the sound system which will cost thousands of dollars.

THE DRIVE:
This car, with its 2.4L naturally aspirated engine outperforms almost every car in a similar league. This is especially impressive considering the CU2 is one of heaviest sedans on the market. The car becomes very responsive at speeds above 70km/h with Sports mode engaged but lacks torque at speeds < 70km/h (which is to be expected of a NA 2.4 L engine).
Honda decided against offering a 2.4 L Turbo or V6 variant which is quite disappointing as the theoretical power output of those engines would have perfectly matched the aggressive body design. Drivers who need/like more power on tap aren't going to have a good time, especially those of you used to V6 engines. The car will downshift without fail at speeds < 70km/h. It's also worth mentioning that I'm the only person in the car.

FINAL VERDICT:
The Accord Euro CU2 is an incredibly good looking car which offers plenty of features and power.
Positive reviews
Purchase of decent new old stock CU2 – I purchased car in Aug 2021 with 38K on it, turns out was garaged a lot and lived in Sydney. Was one of the first in 2008 to come out to Australia in the new model. The car is heavy so use of the paddle shifter auto to change gears works very well. Seating in the back is tight, the boot is large, drivers seating position is highly adjustable,… Read more
switches are easy to use when familiar with location, computer info screen is good, audio speakers are average so replacing them is a good idea. The engine and transmission work very well together but you do have to keep on top of services to get a long life out of them. Choice of tyres is important otherwise a lot of road noise gets into the cabin, but the engine is quiet. This car is a good cruiser sits solid on the road not effected with cross winds. Overall a good purchase .
Quality of engineering that blows European cars away. Bulletproof – Bought a 6 speed manual new in 2010 for $29,500 and 115,000km later in 2020 still drives exactly like day 1. Manual Gearbox and seats some of best in the business. Iterior light blowing regularly (generic issue) and economy that could be better in town are small downsides. This car does not have one rattle and had no mechanical fixes necessary.… Read more · 1
Dealers are expensive though pre-fixed price servicing. Parts are apparently also a bit dear but never needed.
Long live the Accord Euro – I have the 2008 Luxury Navi version. It has the rear view camera which is essential nowadays and satellite navigation though recently has disc read error. I bought this car second hand in 2014 with 50k on the clock now it has 120 and there has been 70k of reliable and trouble-free motoring. The car is quiet, drives super smooth and has sporty… Read more
handling. Excellent build quality and paint finish. Fuel economy is rather good at 8L/100km. Make sure the services and oil changes are up to date to ensure low maintenance. The back seat is a bit short on space and it does require premium fuel but you do get extra mileage.
Negative reviews
Well built, reliable but numerous flaws – The fit and finish of the Euro Lux is pretty high and is made in Japan not Thailand like many lower models. It is a very reliable car and there is an absence of rattles and squeaks that most Euro brands are niggled with. The seats are beautiful, comfortable, the suspension is well sorted giving a great balance between sports and comfort it… Read more
actually turns corners quite flat and the interior feels quality.
Looks nice, great lights for driving.
The drawbacks:
* Engine knocking, it is an inherent flaw in these models and Honda pretend or choose not to do anything about it. I don't think it affected the car or performance but it is present.
* The engine is gutless and has no flexibility - yes it has 147kw but my dog has more torque and the weight it carries is too much for the engine. Because it needs to be pushed harder and that on the highway it revs nearly 3000rpm at 100 the fuel consumption is as as my previous XR5 Turbo and much more than current turbo Octavia RS. I think the max torque is between 4500-4800 talk about narrow and stressed. It's a pity because the chassis isn't too bad unlike many Jap/Korean cars but it is joyless experience.
* Bizarre case of being big on the outside but small on the inside especially passenger area. Inside it is a little wider than Focus but about same size inside, the Octavia is a smaller car but is much more spacious and well designed inside. Not very clever design of interior compared to euro cars. It is probably designed for Chinese market (mainland) which like big sedans but the older Accord Euro was more sporty and nimble.
* Awful connectivity and old media technology
* Honda Australia sucks - the car has flawed rubber trims that basically melt, it is a known problem yet Honda did not acknowledge its warranty obligations. Over a few hundred dollars they were happy to lose prospective customers and by acting very unreasonably and lose their reputation over something which IMO is a design defect. Trim shouldn't melt in a 2 yr old car provided there was no irresponsible actions which it could be proven there was not.

Too many issues – This is the second honda I've owned and will be the last. The dash has been changed, front seat (faulty assembly) speakers blown, and the last straw engine burning oil . Although honda aust claims it to be normal, I have to add over two liters between service. This car is supposed to be a low emissions vehicle (LEV). Sorry but disappointed, expected a better car for the price. Smooth drive Too many trips to the dealer.
Nice car let down by a problematic powertrain – Bought the car brand new from Honda dealer in 2011. After first 1000 Km, car exhibited the infamous engine knocking that still plagues this generation of accord euro. Went back to dealer several times and was told to suck it up as this is acceptable and within engineering tolerances! They have contacted Honda Australia and the stand was not to fix… Read more
the engine.
Now at 20000 Km, auto transmission starts to make weird noises on start up. This happens intermittently. As usual, dealer just brushed it off by saying they can't hear it. Refinement, looks and overall build quality Problematic engine and auto transmission

The best in a class – 2.4 s-type, gearbox, engine, interface, enterior, family, secure... Nice sound system. Loud in.. Weakness is only back pack.. You can fitt a lot, but nothing. Also parts are expensive in my opinion. Show details
Bought new in 2012 - Love it, not for sale! – I bought my Accord Euro new and I won't part with it. Quite simply, nothing goes wrong with the car. I get it serviced regularly and that's it. No surprises and no expensive breakdowns. The only negative some people may have is the fuel minimum rating of 95 octane so a full tank costs a few bucks more. I used to change cars every 3-4 years. Until Honda releases another Accord Euro, this one will stay in my garage. Show details
Comfortable reliable car – I love our Honda Accord 2012 model, its very comfortable and has all the features power windows, air con with dual settings depending on what side of the car your on, a button on the key that opens the boot when your hands are full, a sunglasses holder above the rear vision mirror and all the other mod cons. distance and the back seats fold down on either side apart from the middle so you can put long items in. The only gripe would be the back tyres wear out very quickly, this is due to an unadjustable rear alignment. This has meant we have had to change our back left rear tyre three times in the last year which is a bit extreme and Honda said thats just how it is factory and you need to get an aftermarket part to fix it. The fuel economy is reasonable.
2012 Honda accord euro manual 6 speed – Very good car. Have had two of them. My first one was 2003 model, fell in love with it so bought 2012. ever better. Drove from Melbourne to Adelaide in a tank of fuel. seats are so comfy, I can sit in it all day. cruise control work so well. the one downside I can think of is the paint a pit soft. Accord Euro - a lasting memory – The Luxury model is what I have been driving since 06/2010 and engine is going strong. It does the job but could have been better – Having owned a 2012 Accord EURO for 3 years; it hasn't failed me. It's a good looking car; it provides reliability and a bit of fun while driving. However the interior looks very outdated and plastic; fuel efficiency is not great. And not having turbo means it accelerates slower than expected. One of the biggest disappointments is noise. Brilliant japanese sedan – Bought this 2012 CU2 update new, now 5 years, 110000km later and still just beautiful. I ordered the manual and what a machine, so much better than the auto avgs 8lts/100km smooth six speed gearbox is one of the best ever made and hugely recommended.Honestly have nothing bad to say, has original clutch, original brake pads, never blown a light globe! Good Street Presence – There are a lot more positives than negatives with this car. Looks great on the road, quality interior. Great on fuel and best for highway use. can be a little sluggish taking off but better in the higher rev range. I would not get an auto. In summary, it is a lot of car for the money. Show details
Perfect family car – The performance and handling is great. Great family car with plenty of room even with a car seat. Quiet cabin, with no noise from outside. Fanastic safety features. Fantastic car – I bought my Accord Euro base manual in Jan 2013 (built Dec 2012) and loved it from the start. all Honda Vtec engines it loves to be revved and will reward you if you like to explore beyond 4000rpm where the engine sings. It's quite happy to live below 4000rpm and your fuel economy will improve dramatically. My car has done 50,000kms and average fuel consumption is 8.9 litres per 100km. Comfortable and handles well with the OEM Bridgestone Turanza. Great tyre but expensive to replace. Ride is a lot firmer than the softer American accord but the cabin is tight with no rattles and does not crash over bumps. The sound system is pretty out dated but the speakers offer great sound quality. Well equipped for a base model with everything you need but was missing things like parking sensors and camera. I had a reverse camera installed. Auto lights are a bit of a gimmick as will turn on when it's sunny and off when you think you need them. Honda servicing is ridiculously expensive and every 6 months. I have done most of the oil changes myself as I used to be a mechanic but you can find dealers that do 6 monthly servicing for under $200. They won't stamp your Honda servicing page in the main book but will stamp the back part of the service book. I fill the car with 98 fuel and never had an issue with engine knocking. I'd buy another one if they continued to make them because a car this size for $29,000 with the standard equipment drive away was outstanding value. The running costs are a little higher than the competitors but it is a great drivers car and certainly more rewarding to drive in my opinion to the competitors at the time of purchase.
Good but nothing special – My first Honda, bought it with 18k on odometer. First impressions - good looking car, extremely comfortable and handles well. Build quality is superb, nothing to complain there. Almost 2 years down the track, very underpowered engine, quite disappointed. You have to push it hard, so it drinks a lot of fuel and being 95RON minimum it's a bit… Read more
expensive to run. However, freeway driving is incredible, close to 800km per tank. Media unit is a joke, not acceptable for a 2011 model car, very basic and missing bluetooth.
Seats are very comfortable, seat warmers are excellent for the winter period, back seats are lacking some space due to the boot being so deep, not a fan of that. Turning circle is shocking, i find myself reversing most of the time, that's where the parking sensors come in handy.
Service is expensive, if you choose to go to the dealer, every 10k regular service will set you back over $300. It's about close to $700 per year if you travel 20k.
Overall its a good car but nothing special.
After 3 years, I'm still in love with it – The boot is very big for a sedan. It fits 2 strollers. I put 2 baby seats in the back seat and there is still room left for a small person (my mum is 152cm, slim built). I drive the manual one and gear change is very smooth. Hubby drove the exact same model but auto one. They are both good. The manual accelerate faster and more powerful in performance, more fun to drive while the auto one is very comfortable sedan driving experience. Show details
Reliable, good to drive, looks nice – Purchased in 2013 second hand (09 model). Don't know much about engines etc, but the car drives well, is roomy, moderate costs to service. insulated). Expensive to fill up (about $80-$90 per tank, which gets about 700km).
If I have my time again, probably wouldn't have purchased this car, perhaps gone with the luxury model with a few extra bells and whistles.
Excellent car. Competes with the European brands but much better value for money – I've had my 2010 Euro Luxury for 5 years. Done 94000kms and it's driving beautifully. My original Michelin tyres lasted 87000kms and I drive it pretty hard. The paddle shift gears allow me to get a little more performance out of the car. Practical, sporty but refined. I found it hard to justify the extra $20-30k for a BMW or an Audi. If they were making a new upgraded model I'd buy one...don't know why Honda aren't. Show details
Fantastic Car and have just bought my second one – Just Bought my Second Euro, in unfortunately in current run out as Honda is not bringing the next Model to Australia. The second Euro just purchased is a luxury ... which I wanted as a change . the sunroof while excellent does lower the roof lining considerably which if I was taller might of been a deal breaker.
The heated leather seats are fantastic but will need constant up keep like all leather with a quality conditioner ...
And the 18 inch wheels do make the ride a little firmer.
Is the luxury worth the extra $ more than a standard .... still not sure...
But With excellent economy , I highly recommend these Japan made cars and you would have to be very unlucky to buy a lemon .
Euro is the way to go – I picked up an MY12 Euro Luxury 3 weeks ago now and am just loving it. Never thought I'd use them but the heated seats are fantastic, as is the sound system, the leather, the build quality, the fuel economy and the firm ride. 2nd Euro with intentions to buy a 3rd! Well done Honda – I previously had a 04 Euro luxury model which clocked up 180,000Ks at the time of sale and the only thing I had to replace was the LH front door lock actuator (common on the 03-05 models) and the Alternator at 160K. additional refinement in the CU2 from the previous model (and even that was good). A very well put together car, very solid. Plastics do not appear to be cheap or poorly fitted like some other brands.
The HID headlights are quite good and better than most I have seen on other makes. The leather seats do require to be maintained to ensure they do not wear prematurely. When I was looking in the car yards I noticed a few had shown signs of neglect and were cracking. My 04 model had the cream leather and I had no issues with keeping it clean or maintained (conditioned it on a regular basis). I now have the Black and it seems to be wearing well, the 08-13 models breathe better than previous models.
Seating in the front is more than adequate with good support and multi adjustments even for the passenger. The rear seat, while comfortable, will realistically accomodate 2 adults (depending on build) or 3 children. The middle seat sits a little higher, models fitted with a sunroof have a lower rooflining which continues to the rear adding to the restriction of the middle seat.
The sound system is also quite impressive from factory with a sub. Often get comments on it. The front and rear parking sensors are a must have and have assisted in many tight city parking situations.
Road noise is minimal and sound proofing is good even on the highway.
Fuel economy has reached an impressive 6.2L/100ks on the highway (I have 6spd manual) and averages 9-10L around town. Can be a little more thirsty in stop start traffic with A/C on.
After friends and Family have been in or driven my car, 3 of them have gone out and brought either a Euro or standard Accord and have never looked back.
If I had to pick a few bad points after owning it for a while:
- The dashboard is made of materials that seem to attract heat easily and can heat up quick. The Climate control effectively eliminates this.
- Low end torque off the mark is not all that exciting as with most honda engines, the power is after 3000 RPM and great on the open roads
- Dealer servicing can be quite expensive, especially major service intervals. Once warranty has expired and is over 100,000ks I would probably service myself.
- Factory sized tyres for the Luxury are a specific size that is not a generic popular size in sedans, meaning they are an expensive piece of rubber. (ranging $240-$390 each!) FWD handling impressive, build quality, solid, Honda reliability, comfort Low end torque, Dealer servicing costs, Paint scratches easily (black especially)
