This is my second renewal on my prepaid Kogan mobile plan and I am still very happy, mainly because the wait time to get through to a real customer service officer is next to nothing, and the service is always extremely satisfactory. I find it annoying that Kogan mobile dont have the option to cancel mobile plans by the user through the app or website, and also automatically puts users on their "First" plan trial, and charges the user afterwards, thats disclosed to the user in a small fine print.. Thankfully I got refunded after that stress automatically right after I cancelled the plan the day they charged it, and only because i noticed kogan charged me on my trsnsactions. And the reason i put Kogan in 4 stars despite the negatives I experienced, its still resolvable so far, and also Kogana mobiles customer service call is actually really great at quickly cancelling that mobile plans, and helping you switch over to another plan with them. Like for me it was cancelling their monthly plan to a yearly plan of theirs, all in just 6 minutes! And with great value for the money. so, its not perfect, but its still pretty good. The data itself is decent so far using it for a month for the price, not superb, but it works, which is enough for me.

Blew my data and they fixed it – I left my hotspot open and it drained 10 gig in 30 minutes. No time for the usage alerts to catch my attention. So far so good! using it the last 4 months – I bought small 365 days plan and very happy with it so far, the only issue is that small plan only supports 4G. Comparing to previous provider that I was paying $65/month , this one is $120 for 1 year which works and is is very cheap! of course internet is not very fast inside buildings or during watching movies as it is 4G. to arrive about 4 weeks but as arrived you should simply follow carefully the instruction from customer care and your sim card will be activated within 1 day. so far so good!

Impossible to cancel, continued charging for months My elderly mother (over 70) visited Australia from Brazil, so I bought her a Kogan Mobile SIM. The service was advertised as prepaid, not recurring. The account was registered in her name but using MY bank card, and the account is under MY email address. When she returned to Brazil, I tried to cancel the service. First attempt: logging into the website. I have full access (email, password, everything), but there is no option anywhere to cancel the service or remove payment details.

Second attempt: calling support. I was told ONLY my mother can authorize removal of MY bank card from the account. So I was allowed to create the account, pay for it, and manage it using my email, but I am not allowed to stop the charges.

My mother does not live in Australia, does not speak English, and cannot realistically deal with Australian phone support.

I then emailed support, opened a Fair Trading complaint, and disputed the charges with my bank. Despite all this, Kogan has continued charging my card for three months.

This situation is completely unreasonable. A prepaid service should not be able to keep charging a third party indefinitely while making cancellation practically impossible.

Avoid giving them your payment details unless you are prepared for a very difficult time cancelling.

I was with Kogan last year and had no problem so I bought the pre-paid sim 365 days Flex with 200GB ($159) this year, and the 4G connection has been TERRIBLE. It’s extremely unstable and will not connect to the internet every 5 mins. It doesn’t matter where I am in Brisbane no matter how crowded or not it will always have this patchy connection… Read more

Network terrible. Barely works even if you have full signal bars. When you buy a 365 day pre paid, they steal your data. I've used about 9gb in 60 days according to my phone. Yet Kogan say I've used 166gb. Unreal thieves. Steer clear! Highway robbery When you ask them about it they ignore you

Customer service was able to provide me with a refund but could not find any record of me ever having another plan with them. original plan reinstated, with the representative at the time confirming a new expiry date of 2027 for this phone and data package. Six months later, when my monthly service is due to recharge, it suddenly shows that I have 0GBs of data, despite the expiry of the plan still being 2027. I then ring customer service again to ask why this had happened, to which they inform me that they had adjusted the data package on their end to have an original expiry date rather than the new expiry that I can see on my customer portal. After two days and having to speak to three different representatives again, there was no acknowledgement that their had been miscommunication on their end regarding the expiry of the plan, one of the customer service managers, Jasmine, was only able to explain that it was a 'system glitch' and that I had to purchase a new plan. The representatives were quite unprofessional during our conversations, constable cutting me off using a domineering tone as I was explaining my situation and provided no solution to my issue of not being in a finacial situation to immediately purchase a new plan. In the end, I was left with no data, no proposed solution to purchasing a new plan and no acknowledgement of miscommunication on the part of Kogan Mobile.

The flex yearly plans are some of the cheapest around you can get 17GB data on 4G monthly for less than $150 per year! However this is where the fun stop as literally 70-80km outside most capital cities the network does not work at all. 2025 but it is the same. I live In Adelaide and I went 82km outside of Adelaide to an area where the network coverage checker says there is 4G outdoors. both my wife and I had no 4G (or any internet data for that matter) for 2 days we were there. This is a repeating story every time we travel anywhere the same issue occurs. We have to rely on wifi or on someone else so after our current plan expires we are both leaving Kogan as the network is not up to standards to what is being promised. See screenshot attached.

in the past). In fact I'd already tried with my wife's computer - and its browser is Google Chrome anyway. But after a long and unpleasant argument about whether I should have to fix Kogan's problems, she was persuaded to activate the new SIM for me. Why they expect users to have sufficient expertise to find, download and install a new browser, when they don't have sufficient expertise to write web pages which work on all common browsers, was not revealed. Looking at the SIM pack I notice that it has no information about how to activate it if you don't happen to already have access to the internet. Other companies that I've used in the past (4 of the 5 whose documentation I have kept) provide a phone number for activation.

case with CAV but that was a waste of time as they were about as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike. Now hoping my bank will just block the charges on my credit card. Just absurd in this day and age that a company can act in a fraudulent manner with such impunity.

“no, no trouble at all. Will be happy to do it.” Fine. Credit went though. I tried again a couple of days later. Process went through without a problem. I was advised my number had been ported. But the phone didn’t work!! Onto tech support again. Went through five calls of various value from hopeless ‘just remove the physical SIM’, to trying:” I’ll send you a new e-sim”, to the last one who was excellent. Worked carefully through the problem, told me to do a few things, and yeah it worked! (Still not sure what he said and I’m not game to fiddle with the phone again. I’m giving Kogan four stars for a couple of reasons. Their tech support was instantly available, no waiting in queues, I just connected as soon as I rang. An absolute rarity in customer support. And they have some pleasant and competent staff if you can get them. As well, all their staff (with one exception) were polite and friendly even if their rapid fire heavily accented English can be hard to understand. So, if you don’t get satisfaction first time keep trying, there are good ones there.

set up that way. There was no attempt to investigate further, escalate the issue, or consult a more experienced staff member. He was not helpful and came across as dismissive. The only suggestion he gave was to try activating the SIM using a family member’s name, which wasn’t a proper solution. For a company of this size, I expected better support. If a representative doesn’t know how to resolve an issue, they should escalate it instead of leaving the customer stuck. I called again and spoke with Usama, who resolved the issue quickly and professionally. This shows that the problem could be fixed, and better support was possible. Thank you to Usama for the excellent service. Kevin should learn from this approach. Overall, the first experience was frustrating, but the second interaction restored some confidence.
