1 Sand  · Don’t even call them – Quoted $180 just as a call out fee. That includes nothing, all repairs extra. Outrageous.

WARNING DO NOT USE – If I could give -5 stars I would. Quick to take call-out fee claim I needed a new thermostat had it replaced still not fixed called numerous times eventually returned call (4 days) sent a technician after 5 days. Still not fixed called numerous times no response to calls or texts. Quick to grab your money. Almost $600 and no result. Do yourself a favour and stay CLEAR

buyer beware – don't use this company . 3 visits and still my evaporative cooling was not working. had to go to another repairer (rinnai) who identified the problem and fixed it straight away. "Matt" promises the world but doesn't deliver. still waiting on my refund request

Over the hottest weekend in ages. I tried to book a repair service for it, and after waiting for ages for my call to be answered, I was told that the absolute earliest call out booking was 8!!!! weeks… Read more

The receptionist answering the call was unable to look up any part of our account, including the warranty. 8 weeks - this is not a functioning business, and it is non-existent customer care. The old: if I could give it less than a 1 star rating, I would.

Excellent – Our Brivis heater stopped working a few days ago. We called Melbair and were told someone would be in touch the next day between 7 am-12 noon. At 8.30 am Next day received a call with the technician arriving at 9 am. needed in the future. An email arrived soon after with details of the service and a quote for a part we may need further down the track. We also received a phone call after the email to ask if we’d like to proceed with the quote. Our heater works and we were very happy with the prompt service and efficiency of both the admin staff and the technician. We will call them if the heater requires the new part in the near future. Please don’t bother with other Brivis repairers as they are useless. We were stuffed around by Brivis/ Rinnai last year and again this year. None turns up, chasing them up, no record of calls etc. I would highly recommend Melbair.

Very poor & rude service – Had a noisy fan in our air-conditioning unit & booked a tech to come out & look at our unit. Tech arrived and serviced the unit, he advised us that there was a birds nest in the unit and had changed the wafers & the noise was the fan out of balance and it was best to install a new unit. it would be fine to use just a bit noisy. I went away for three days (it had been 3 days of 40 degree days) on our return we turned on the unit & realised water was pouring out of the light fittings after 30 mins from our upstairs roof, we quickly turned off the unit & called our insurer as the complete plaster roof had been compromised. Call Melbourne Heating And Air-conditioning Repairs to come and have another look at the unit, the tech got up on the roof & said there was damage to the tilled roof and it was ran water leaking into the roof & there was nothing wrong with the unit, I disputed this with the tech as there had been very little rain all week & very hot temperature's & the roof had not been leaking prior to him climbing on or roof, the tech would not accept any responsibility for any of the damage & turned on the air-conditioner & left. Approximately 30 mins after the Tech left water started to pour from the roof again, called back this company & they advised it wasn't there problem & were very rude on the phone. Please do not use this company.

Great friendly service, nothing is too much trouble – I had our Evap cooling serviced and when the guy came, I asked could he do the heating too as that hadn't been done for a while. A quick call to the office and it was all organised. I then asked could they arrange a remote controller and that was also put on order. The guy came yesterday and it's now all done! Excellent service – Our service technician (Kirill Zheludkov) provided excellent service. He addressed all the issues of concern & provided excellent advice regarding future actions that might be required. gas. The team at Melbourne heating and cooling then worked to late into the night 8:00pm to find a unit to install the next day. The install team was super polite, completed the install and walked me through the use of the heater and connecting it to the WIFI. More than happy to recommend them.

Rip off merchants – Was quoted three times the price of zone motor, following service call. Technician stated that there would not be another call out charge. Mostly disappointed with service would not recommend this heating specialists to anyone. Rip off merchants.

No way don't use them – I would not recommend using them to anyone. I used them, technician didn't know what he was doing, fixed nothing and charged a fortune. Followed up with the head office about disatisfaction, never called back

Exceptional customer service – Customer service was exceptional from the first point of call, to having the changeover completed. The office staff were very efficient, in particular Renee! The technician Brendan who completed the original call out & installation of my new system practiced safe hygiene methods which in the current climate is greatly appreciated! He was professional & kept me in the loop at all times. Thanks to the team at Melbair!

Servicing – I am just reading all the bad review about this company. I have someone at the moment on my roof servicing my evaporative and am really worried. Used this company some years ago and was dissatisfied but thought I would give them another try. Really worried now

Rip off – Got charged $239 for the callout; couldn’t be fixed on the day. Assured by the technician that the next day would be just parts and labour ($630) but another $239 callout fee has been “authorised” (not by me!) and appears on my credit card. Emailed the company but a week later and a follow up, no reply. Technician was really nice and professional. Not so much the GM, Alex Gerdam.

DO NOT USE – Had problem with heater cutting out, they sent a technician out. Did not fix problem. They said they would come again, did not show, fixed myself. Just Pressed the reset button.

Great Service – Hi All .. My ducted heating was broken and raised a case with them (JobNo: 9331574). The service person came in had a quick assessment with an outcome of , Fan is gone. Gave me a quote to replace the part and another quote to replace the whole machine. I chose the option to replace the part and he came the next day with the part and its all working very well. Thanks mate for your help and saving a lot of $ by replacing the machine.

Waited and waited and waited – Our landlord agent organised an appointment. This appointment was organised 3 weeks ago for a repair to the AC unit, it was supposed to be between 10 am and 2 pm today. We confirmed this morning, they never came, no call, no communication, nothing. If it was the way around I bet they would have changed.

Alex Gerdan who is the GM did nothing to assist us & couldn’t not provide relevant certification of works. Reported company to relevant councils to be investigated.

Watch these sharks – Watch these guys. I had my real estate agent have these guys out to look at a broken AC in my rental property. Quote came back at $900 to repair. Whilst they since broken the quote down into parts and labor after pushing them to request this, they have refused to provide manufacturers part numbers on the replacement parts which to my mind means they are putting an opportunistic margin to the replement parts.

Con Artist – Paid $250 in cash basically for nothing. They promise to give you another quotation for replacing a new evp cooling system but never reply your email or phone after first visit. Now I have to find someone else to fix the problem.

Terrible – Paid service fee of $240 to check out the problem with evap cooling system fan and quoted over $1,000 if agreed to go ahead with replacing multiple parts. Later, I got a quote from another technician, it only cost $120 to come out fit the fan back on within 30 mins. NO PART replacement was required. It is a joke and reap off.

Hopeless! – Should had been a warning sign when they advised the had bookings available the next day. Promised a service a clean and filter change all for $239. Technician came out ( God knows if he actually was a technician) opened the unit turned around pretended to look for the vent and walked straight out. Kid you not! What a joke of a company – Asked them to come fix my ducted heater the guy rocked up had a 3minute look said the switchboard needed replacing but couldn’t quote me on the spot. Left without doing anything - charged $239! Quote came in something like $700 - got a second guy to come out $60 and fixed it. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!

Absolutely disgraceful – Should have cancelled when I read the reviews but i didn't. Shame on me. Got tech out told me it was the board, replaced that at a $750.00 cost didn't fix the problem. Still have no gas ducted heating. We spoke to another company and they advised that we need a new system and to stop wasting our money. Would NOT recommend this company to anyone.

Sorry I dealt with company – Service person came out to repair my Vulcan heat bank as it was turning off intermittently. Was charged 230 dollars and now it doesn't ignite at all. When I rang to talk to company they were rude and dismissed my complaint that the heater no longer worked.

Unscrupolous company – Should have search reviews on this company. Foolish enough to give out my credit card details. Came out to fix the air con. Look at it and said it was the compressor issue. No quote. Left and I have done my $239. Stay away from this rip off company.
