This is our second Miele vacuum cleaner, the first one lasted over 25 years; this new one is quieter but essentially the same; the fittings are interchangeable, not that I expect to wear them out. We tried other well known brands that friends owned and frankly they didn't measure up to Miele's value/performance. Show details

We have 3 rag doll cats and 2 Germanshepard s . The cats track litter from their trays. We worked on different trays but still a mess. The Germanshepard molt 4 times a year, 2 of which are very heavy. The car and carpets all get a good coating sheded dog hair. This not a problem for the vac. This vacuum cleaner does all it claims…. But unless you live in a studio apartment the size of a postage stamp forget it! I use it daily and can only manage half a room before it needs to be emptied. Filter parts are all plastic and tricky to keep pulling apart for a rinse. I’m always worried they will break. Had an old barrel Electrolux similar… Read more

design for 23 years. I could vac the whole house (same house with 1 German Shepherd) and empty the bag once when finished. It had great suction too. We still have a German Shepherd obviously not the same one. This Miele wastes more time emptying than cleaning! I HATE this vacuum!!! It is currently in the cupboard because I can’t be bothered emptying it every time I just start vacuuming. Used it probably only 2 dozen times not even a month before I just gave up. I now just use a broom, it only takes a third of the time to do verses using the Miele that needs emptying continuously. Even the husband can’t figure out why it needs emptying so often. I need a new vacuum with a better/larger bag capacity because this one is a joke!

Miele vacuums 100%, don't settle for Dyson – This is my second miele vaccuum, I will not buy any other brand. It is now 18 months old. It is perfect and one of the reasons it is so much better than other brands is very simple: all of the wheels swivel. It will move easily in any direction, you can nudge it back, sideways or any other angle out of the way when you turn around or back out of… Read more

corners. It always follows like a breeze, never gets stuck at doors or tables. I have friends with Dysons and other brands which I have used. They are awful after using a Miele. Having any wheels in a fixed direction makes everything harder on your body. The Miele also never tips over. You probably don't notice how much harder the job is wth other vacuums until you have a Miele and then go back. This model has bags - also something I prefer. Dealing with the dust with bagless vaccuums is really unpleasant, even if you don't have allergies. The accessories are better than other vacuums and easier to use on all floor types as well as dog beds and other soft furnishings. I've never had a problem with suction - the power is great. And on the other end it is gentle enought to vacuum dust of Lego models using the brush accessory without dislodging even the smallest of Lego pieces. We have daughters with long hair and a large dog who sheds every day of the year. Our last vaccuum lasted 12 years. The reason we bought a new one was because the spinning head finally stopped working and to replace it for a 12 year old vacuum was not worth it compared with the additional cost to get a new one. The vacuum itself is fine. We still use the old one for the cars and other areas with more coarse mess like the garage. With the wheels: even after nearly 14 years now, the wheels still run like a dream and they've had no attention/cleaning whatsoever. The flip lid that covers the accessories might feel a little flimsy. It seems that way but is actually incredibly robust in real world use. One thing this model does not have that I greatly miss from the last model is the handle remote control. That was a little piece of convenience that was wonderful. The only other thing that could make this better is a tethering system from the handle to the barrel - I improvised using a thin dogs lead in lieu of such a feature as pictured in the photos. the reason being that without it the only way to pull the vaccuum is using the hose. They aren't the lightest of vaccuums (a little bit of sacrifice in a heavier vacuum for better quality) so pulling it by the hose eventually ends up with the hose stretched and with kinks in it, admittedly after about a decade. Being manufactured with fitting connections staying the same from model to model is also great - all the accessories from my old vaccuum fit the new one. We can't afford most appliances made by Miele, but their vaccuums are truly two of the best purchases of any appliances I've ever made.

Quality investment for health and cleanliness – This vacuum was of a price range that I normally contemplate, but then hesitate to buy, usually opting for the cheaper option. As a single mother, quality and price mean a lot to me, but I am so satisfied with my purchase. You can feel the quality manufacturing, plus the suction is absolutely second to none. trending big name stick vacuum, and having both in the house on the same carpet, there was zero comparison to the Miele.

After weeks spent researching vacuums, I finally decided on the Miele C3. As a single mum to a 3 month old, I am deeply concerned about the level of cleanliness my baby interacts with on a daily basis as he spends majority of his time on the floor during tummy time.

I chose the C3 cat and dog for its power and attachments, but also the ability to once required, changed the carbon filter, to a HEPA filter, as Mieles filters are interchangeable.

Living in a rental property with old carpet, I have already noticed a vast difference to the level of dust in my home since using the C3. I use it on old, thick pile carpet flooring, tiles, as well as heavy hand woven Afghan rugs, and car upholstery and carpets.

I'd already given my car a vacuum with my previous appliance, but did a once over after receiving delivery of my Miele. Totally amazing difference! I have been able to clean my vehicle like it hasn't been cleaned in the 11 years I've owned it. The brush tool attachment effectively loosened and removed deep imbedded grains of sand from many a beach trip that a regular vacuum had not ever managed to touch. The small nozzle got into the nooks and crannies between seats, and the upholstery head made easy work of the car seats and headrests.

Also, extra points for the ergonomic handle! A design element that's so simple with such drastic improvement to ease of use!

This product is a long lasting investment in my home and family.

Highly recommended – I can say it’s the best vacuum I have ever owned! It’s reliable, long lasting, the cord length is long so it doesn’t require multiple outlet swaps, the suction of the vacuum is awesome, the handle on the hose is adjustable, lightweight, quiet, easy to use and neat design. Show details

Favourite – I am a house keeper and have tried alot of different vacuums. This is by far my favourite, I had to buy one. The suction is incredible!! I don't like Dyson vacuums, I think they are over rated. They flick the dirt alot so you have to go over and over multiple times. Show details

good product, until it breaks – This vacuum was purchased in April 2021 and it lives up to its accolades. It cleans well, and is comfortable to use and handle. However, I found the hairs which it is so good at collecting wound around the fan axle in the power head. Enough hair wrapped around this axle in 9 months that it actually wore the housing down until it became unusable. … Read more

I contacted Miele to see if a replacement part was available. First response was trying to sell different parts, and then no response to any follow up. No response to warranty question. So I can buy a whole new head ($180) or use a cheap no-name one from Godfreys ($70). I can't justify $180 when it might happen again, whereas I've used the cheap option for many years prior to buying this vacuum.

5 stars for the product functionality 3 stars for the longevity 1 star for customer service

Ever since I bought this, dust collects inside the bag compartment instead of it all collecting in the bag. I have to use ANOTHER vacuum to clean this unit out. I have watched numerous videos on ensuring the bag locks in every time you open it up and I have done what is required, but to no avail. It's an absolute MESS! Show details

I've owned this machine for a little over 6 months and I'm almost ashamed to admit I look forward to the weekly full house clean. Firstly when I bought this vac I didn't want a power head after having 2 corded machines with them and experiencing problems with both. Didn't want bagless or any useless features that are made to sell machines in the… Read more

showroom.

Let's get to the point.

Build quality is superb. Plastic mouldings fit together perfectly and feel well made. Hose feels quality and durable. Attachments are well made and solid.

Suction is powerful and i have never needed to go higher than the quite setting.

Bag change is super easy.

Castor wheels glide smoothly over any surface.

Telescopic wand is easy to adjust and is a solid and well built item.

Haven't had a single blockage in 6 months.

One touch cord retract works and is a feature that I didn't think I'd enjoy as much as I do.

Although I don't feel the need to use it often, the turbo head works great on carpets.

I only use the quite setting and yes it's the quietest machine I've ever had

Cleans carpet and hard floors really well. Not sure what else to expect. Power and hose retract buttons feel quality with a nice feel when pressed.

At 6 months of use I can't think of any negatives. I think it's price is good for a high build quality machine and user experience is more than what I'd expect to be acceptable.

Buy it. You'll love it.

Winner. My criteria: Pet hair, NOISE level, durability/performance, and filtration/small/dust – We've had this model for four years. and it's been trouble free. Pluses and minuses below. Great accessories and compartment for storing them on board. As the title suggests, some important criteria for me were pet hair. noise durability and performance. and really important is that it's got a proper HEPA filter so that dust and smells don't blow… Read more

back. into the house and make it intolerable for people with allergies, (which we all seem to be finding we have, these days). As always, top end german/nordic appliances DO require you to observe the manual, instructions and maintain it properly. TIP: Here is a video to show you how to replace the bags and filter - makes a BIG difference to odour and dust performance., and repalce the filters - tip - use this video https://youtu.be/v6j0PgSsByI . (So watch out for the negative reviews from people who don't understand how to use it .) PLUSes: +4 tools/heads, one especially rotating brush for small spaces/furniture is ideal for removing cat hair. + noise levels. just so nice!. barely more than talking volume - (only beaten by the Electrolux Ultrasilencer, which is bloody good too! Now where did that vacuum go?) many Neurodiverse people HATE the screaming Noise of a vacuum cleaner. + solid, sleek, works. Also, it's powerful and solid and just smoothly built everything clicks into place, and you get a strong sense of quality and reliability with this = only twice the price of the crappy Vax at Kmart, but easily 10 times better!

Neutral. *** a bit of work looking up ordering the replacement bags and filters, but i have stocked a few in advance now. and noticed its ***really**** worth doing the filter. phew! just buy a bunch up front or write down what bag/filter to get, and save yourself the hassle of looking it all up a year later/.

hassles: - cord could be longer. but retracts SO MUCH better than the el cheapo Vax "screamer"we had form kmart - high end appliances require investing in high end expensive consumables like bags and filters. I link to a video... on how. but ultimately that's the choice., read other reviews from people who switched form Dyson for a definitive comparison.

Quality cleaner although dubious durability on the accessories – Powerful machine however dubious durability of accessories. Purchased mid 2018 with plenty of suction and sensable design such as long extendable tube and power cord length. Relatively quiet and the main unit appears well made as would be expected with the brand and price. Alas the dust brush attachment quality resulted in significant… Read more

deterioration within 12 months use and the tubular handle has just split through about 80% of the circumference and requires replacing. Keep in mind this machine is capable of lifting the carpet off the floor on higher power settings which also creates additional drag. This force arrives at the hand piece which appears to be about 1mm thick. Never had one of those fail on a cheap machine let alone a high end one while in the workshop I use a 40 year old Tellus and the dust brush is in better shape than the Miele. Miele have agreed to replace the dust brush but claim the condition of wear indicates excessive pressure applied to it and this extends to the breakage of the handle which I paid to replace. Why anyone would apply downward pressure when vacuuming thereby making the job difficult and requiring more energy, I don't know ? I can say with all honesty that in using various vacuum cleaners during the past 55 years, this is the first to break on me. The message from Miele appears to be that if their appliance breaks, it is not the design or quality of manufacture.

Best vacuum ever!! – This is hands down the best bag vacuum I’ve ever owned. I bought it in 2014 and after multiple moves, even took it overseas, it’s still going strong. It has all the attachments for car cleaning, skirting, ceiling, blinds, etc. works great on carpet and hard flooring. You can change the suction to suit whatever you’re cleaning. The bags also last a very long time, even with daily use. Show details

Unfortunately, only as good as it's weakest element – A tricky review to balance! Essentially the vacuum itself is excellent - great suction, however in 4 years we have gone through 4 power heads and the genuine Miele versions aren't cheap! Beware the Auto Bag Release – It's always been a great machine and normally deserves a 5 star rating. This is my 3rd Miele Cat and Dog vacc in 3 decades. This latest model would benefit from a warning/ auto release sticker on outside of dust compartment lid that every new owner would see and pay attention to prior to first bag change. Take care new owners, as with this model… Read more

every time you open the dust compartment the bag has an auto release mechanism. It does not state this anywhere in the manual that I could see, and it's not on page 58 where such info belongs unless I am mistaken. Unless you know/ have been told about the auto release by a sales assistant before you open the lid, disaster then awaits the unsuspecting - if you open the lid to have a look , and do not change the bag, you won't notice any difference with your previously correctly fitted bag, aha it still appears to be in correct position, and yes the lid will still close....... but as that bag has been automatically released when lid was opened it is now no longer clipped firmly into place at the base of the holder = you will get dust in the motor. And then the nightmare begins. Dear Miele, easy to correct, please make this bag auto release obvious in the manual or put a simple sticker on the lid.

I love this vacuum cleaner – This vacuum cleaner replaced a Dyson. Wow..what a difference! On the carpet setting I could feel it pulling up the carpet, such was the strong suction of this vacuum. Durable. Strong suction. Smooth navigation – My trusty Miele vacuum has lasted over 10 years and beats my dyson handheld one hands down. Strong suction, long cord, smooth navigation. Can suck up dust and dirt along skirting boards and sliding door tracks, making cleaning a breeze. The only thing is that it is bulky compared to handheld vacuums. I enjoy having it for weekly big cleans and a handheld vacuum for small easy jobs. Show details

purchasing spare parts IF THE NEED was to ever arise. I was very worried about the cost of bag replacements as our old dyson being bagless, and considering we use the miele daily with 2 kids, shockingly found out we get 3 months per bag before needing to change it out. Only negative I have so far of owning the miele c3 is if you use the standard floor attachment and turn the power up to much I found out it will happily lift the carpet up and anything else too, the maximum power setting I would only recommend for the turbo head or if you are trying to suck some seriously dirty carpets. I would happily recommend the c3 complete it's a amazing vacuum cleaner, and one I am now much happier with and not a noisy as the dyson.
