Short service life – We have the above mentioned aircon system new when house was built, plus a smaller 2.0kw system. The 5kw unit only gets used during summer in the lounge room. The unit has now failed with a 6 flash fault, which is either power or PCB board fault. Pretty disappointed as the unit is just over 5 years old. Was really expecting at least a 10 year life from these. Show details

Best Air Con ever! – I like the warmth that it blows out of the air con. Especially on a cold morning! It is also good for cooling! Just wondering. What is dry mode good for? I use it in my lounge room below my couch! Probably the best spot in my house! Also very quiet and efficient Show details

Top aircon unit – Purchased this unit back in 2018 and had it installed in my 25ft caravan. It cools my van in summer to icy cold and warms it in winter to toasty hot. It's noise level both in and outside my van is exceptionally quite. The unit has been used heavily every winter & summer during these years with no issues what so ever, even when it's crazy hot or… Read more

Jacky frost cold. Mitsubishi heavy industries make top units. I don't recall what l paid for it but the price was reasonable as l always shop around for the best price. I made this purchase from my local hot&cold store.

The Ice Box – I am very happy with the product. It starts up quickly and quietly. Cooling a 48sq/m area in just seconds. Heating a 48sq/m area in under a minute. The installation was quick and efficient. Note to installing the outside unit-have a cement area placed in situ prior to installation, otherwise the electricians will use a plastic mount system. The… Read more

unit is very simple to use and very user friendly. Product installation note for all Mitsubishi Air Conditioners-when the electrician install the unit make sure they silicone all piping and electrical areas outside and inside. Spray Lanolin to all external areas around base of unit to prevent ants making their nest inside unit on main system board. If ants make their nest inside the unit and damage it, it is not covered under warranty and you will be up for a new system board (not cheap). Mitsubishi Heavy Industries advises all their installers of this requirement, but I had a local electrician install mine at the request of the store I bought it off (not a happy camper).

Recommend Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Split Air Conditioners – Cooling performance is great, as soon as it is switched on you can feel the room start cooling instantly. Have only purchased just before Christmas (summer) therefore have not used heat setting yet. Both indoor and outdoor unit is quiet, only a minor humming sound and when on lowest speed you cant hear it at all. Installation was straight… Read more

forward for the installer, only took approx 1.5 hrs.

It is easy to use with remote control, has eco mode, on & off timer, sleep timer, adjustable swing mode, and other functions.

We were restricted with wall space of 810mm for the indoor head unit and this model unit was the only model available, measuring at 798mm, which also worked out well as it is a 5KW power that was needed for the size of room. Also had good recommendations from other air conditioner installers of the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries brand and am very happy with this unit.

We purchased this from Bunnings for around $1200, which saved us $200 as some of their competitors weren't interested price matching.

What a relief! Really easy, really effective – Moved into a new house in September and by December the heat wave was well and truly on us. I was not keen on air conditioning - I thought it would cost too much to get decent unit and have it installed. I thought it would look ugly and would be really expensive to run. Well, I was wrong all around. The Mitsubishi SRK 7.1kW model was… Read more

recommended by a couple of local installers. I could have bought it for about $1700 but decided to buy through one of the locals, total cost $2300 installed. The split system meant I could 'hide' the big motor/fan part under the deck and the pipe running up to the inside unit is quite narrow, you hardly notice it. Inside it looks great, neat lines and again you don't really notice it.

The only difficult thing was that the house is quite old and needed an additional circuit to run the air conditioning. Adding the circuit meant an upgrade to a new mains box. An added expense, but something I would have had to fix anyway eventually.

The Mitsubishi performance is excellent. It runs quietly, cools the large open plan living/dining area quickly and effectively. The remote is easy to use once you read the manual (and work out about opening the little doors on the remote to find the extra controls!) You can control the vertical and horizontal swing which means you can direct the cool air only where you need it. There are some more sophisticated options and a timer but we haven't had to use them yet. We usually set it to auto to cool down, then run it on 21 or 22 degrees and set the fan speed to what is comfortable on the day. Really easy, really effective.

We've only had one electricity bill since installing, but so far it seems affordable to run. Great to have relief from the heat!

Quiet but not as good as I had hoped for – Sometimes takes quite a while to start up, with the green light flashing on and off, can understand that on a very frosty morning but not on a normal day. Remote is quite complicated so we have it just on the basic settings. It would be good if the handbook was more user friendly, you have to really hunt through to find what all the symbols mean.… Read more

We bought 3 at the same time, 2 of this model and one other model, there seems to be a real performance difference between the 2 of the same model, to the point I wonder if our house one has been installed properly.

Questionable build quality – Have this hook up to dual head units for two adjacent bedrooms. One is quiet but the other has noise from day one. It sounds like fan blade was continually rubbing against something. On a really hot day it struggles to cool down two small bedrooms. Also the AI maybe too smart, it prevents cooling if you try it on cool day.  Show details

don't waste your money – It battles to keep house warm in general. When weather drops below zero it spends most of its time in defrost mode.it battles to keep lounge and hall warm 22deg. I used to have 3bar electric wall heater with fan that was removed when heat pump was in stalled, I am looking at getting another 3bar fan heater installed as it used to keep house warm… Read more

!. I do not understand why you would design a system such as this when it spends most of its time in defrost mode when you require the heat the most . Total waste of money !!!!!

Perfect unit for bedroom! – Great little unit for the bedroom! Very quiet and energy efficient. I have had other brands in my previous homes. This is the first time I went with Mitsubishi and I can honestly say I am happy with my choice. The cooling side works a treat and the heating side is also more than efficient. Just do your homework I the size required for your rooms to ensure you are get maximum use. Show details

Very Happy – I live in a smallish, three bedroom house in Melbourne. I've had this aircon for a year now, and I love it. In the very heat of summer, this unit would get my whole house down to a comfortable level. I've placed it in the living room so it blows down the hallway, and as a consequence, in the middle of the worst heatwaves (40+ degrees), my bedroom… Read more

gets down to 22 degrees. A very sleepable temperature. I also use it for most of my heating, and whilst it isn't as potent as the ducted heating, it is still very workable. I can't speak to the cost of running, because I had solar panels installed at the same time, but I haven't had an electricity bill since, so I'm feeling pretty positive about the whole setup.

Small but efficient – Works very well for 3 rooms in a very hot house in the middle of our brutal summer. As a native New Zealander summer in Canberra is pretty much as extreme as my moderate temperature body can handle. My only other reference would be living on the inside of a toaster. Very happy to have this little unit keeping our bedroom area bareable. On the lowest setting at 22 degrees it works really well.  Show details

Great heating and cooling! – Great air con with heating and cooling functions, timer easily set to allow cooling while your away from home. We haven’t had any issues so far perfect size for a massive living and kitchen area. Value for money efficient air conditioner – We've had this since late 2017, really performs well in our high ceiling queenslander. The external unit is underneath the house, it's really quiet. Medium unit with a lot of grunt – I wasn't sure if we had bought a big enough unit at the time and was tossing up between this one and the 7KW for our kitchen/dining area. excellent in winter and the unit performs well to cool the area down on the hottest days. It did cost a lot to install as we had a tricky situation, but the cost of purchasing is now long forgotten as it continues to do a great job nearly two years on.

Quiet, efficient, value for money – This is the second Mitsubishi reverse cycle aircom we've bought. We bought one for the bedroom 4 years ago with no issues so decided to buy the same make ( but more powerful) for the lounge. Excellent machine, quiet, powerful, efficient and excellent value for money. As great to use in summer as in winter. REALLY pleased with this make and will continue to buy from them due to reliability and all round great value.  Show details

Cool aircon – This system is in a large bedroom with an ensuite and walk in wardrobe. It quickly cools the room down when it's turned on and has a silent mode as well as a strong mode and numerous fan settings.
