Waste of money, Don’t recommend – Disappointing experience with NHI: We built a two-story house and chose NHI for inspections due to their ratings. However, their inspectors failed to identify several critical issues, including plaster wall alignment, water sealing in shower rooms (ended up roof leaking post handover), CCTV location, missed cooling controller and door and window… Read more

alignment. Also our SS reported inspector refused to remove his muddy shoes when he did the final inspection and SS ended up cleaning the house again. I brought these issues to their attention, but instead of apologizing and offering to inspect the property properly, they blamed the SS who conducted the PCI before completion. Anyway we are now facing numerous problems post-handover, and we are looking for another inspector to provide a comprehensive report to submit to DBDRV. NHI is not a reliable choice for those who lack knowledge of the construction industry. We strongly advise against using their services if you want a thorough inspection.

Arranged to have the inspection done and we were very happy. Peter was on time and provided the report for us to be able to submit well within the time frame. Have no hesitation in recommending New Home Inspections

New Home Inspections made the process of having our home checked with a private inspector so easy. They communicated incredibly well and helped us through every step of the way.

Don't trust these guys. Not very professional – I have been following NHI Facebook and Instagram feed and even shared a few posts around that were highlighting dodgy builder / tradesman works. I didn't expect to be blocked with that being my first ever comment on one of their posts. If they had different opinion about it, they could have either replied or ignored it.

This seems very unprofessional to me.

I also contacted them months ago about having them inspect a project I was working on at the time and received no reply.

Not showing up after booking ! – I have booked my private inspection with Katelyn and the private inspector did not show up. When called to find out what happens, another staff saying that this was never booked. Not received any email confirmation regarding the booking. Now because of this, my settlement is delayed. Not good enough ! Will not book these guys again

Not a clue – Building inspection performed on time. $420 for 50 minutes. Told another inspection was to be done and he was running late running late. The building inspector found chips in the plaster. Was told the clothes line was ok. Told the plaster joins were in need of repair. All were blatantly obvious. fine, however i personally looked in the roof and found that they were in fact pine trusses. I was also told that the oven exposed wire was illegal as it had to be hard wired. I made a further investigation into this allegation as he was clearly an idiot. This oven wire with plug was for the oven light. I might add at this stage tell you that the Real Estate agent recommended this monkey. I am just disappointed that he ate such expensive peanuts (money). I contacted the building regulations board. The building regulation board said pre purchase inspections can be carried out and performed without licenced inspectors. Apparently they only need to be handy with some building knowledge. It is new houses and surveying offices that have the proper qualifications. Now i understand the mess people get into trusting these cowboys with this position of good faith.

NHI were amazing in finding faults we would have missed. Reports were received the next day and were so detailed. We could then liaise with the builder or even get NHI to be the middle person. Would recommend using NHI for every new build or inspection

As promised, these guys were prompt, honest and fair. There when booked, on time and very organised. Their report was delivered by end of day fully with photos and notes that were easy to read and most importantly, easy to understand. Would definately use them again.

NHI support staff, Brooke and Susan, were also knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely down to earth. The entire process felt organised and supportive from start to finish. I really can’t recommend new home inspections more. I used NHI for a just completed build and my inspector was Paul who was amazingly fastidious with the several inspections that were performed. His reports were comprehensive and he found so many defects, the majority of which I would have missed. These reports compelled the builder to rectify the issues. I would not consider a build without the backup of a private inspector.

builder back in his place by pointing out poor workmanship.

Phillip’s report was thorough, easy to understand and made the builder accountable for the flaws that I otherwise would not have noticed until later down the track when issues occurred.

I rehired Phillip to do a follow up inspection and I believe the work was done to a higher standard because he was returning.

I highly recommend this company, they’re worth their weight in gold!

then supplied a detailed report, included photos of any defects requiring attention prior to settlement. These included draining systems, wet areas and chipped or damaged surfaces. The reports were then forwarded to the builder for attention. Without Nathans report I would not have noticed any of these issues prior to moving in. I thoroughly recommend a pre settlement inspection and am more than happy to recommend New Home Inspections who very reasonably priced, most courteous and easy to work with.

We've now used New Home Inspections across two builds and each time they have been absolutely fantastic. All staff I dealt with were incredibly friendly, professional and never had any issues accommodating rescheduled inspection times.
