Best item I have bought for my baby! – Best item I have purchased!!! This Owlet sock provides such peace of mind every night for us, we can check our baby's heart rate & oxygen levels. When our son was 3 months old, the sock alarm alerted us one night which was due to a high heart rate, we took our son to the hospital after seeing it was in the low 200's and after a few hours of monitoring he ended up having salmonella and had to stay in hospital for a week...because of the Owl sock we were able to act fast and the doctors could start the treatment. We have used the owlet every night for the past 9 months so far and it makes us feel like we have a backup at home and are always able to check how bubby is monitoring on our phones whenever you like. Awesome invention and I would highly recommend it to any new parents!
Purchased in at Owlet Smart Sock for $450.
Would never have slept without this! – Our baby was born early and I suffered with severe postnatal anxiety, constant worry. On our way home from the hospital I made my husband run in to buy one and after a couple of nights of trust I slept. I honestly still would not sleep to this day without it. 10 months and we still use it every night. I recommend this little sock to absolutely everyone. Thank you to whoever came up with this life saving idea. Show details
Only works with wifi – Purchased to use for monitoring our baby whilst tavelling and at home. Unfortunately it fails to do this, it requires wifi connection in order to work, and the app also needs to be open for monitoring. It does not work over phone signal rendering unless for us. Signal/app drops out regularly when connected. Show details
Alarm limits – I purchased the sock for my prem twins when they came home. At 6 months, they caught RSV. One of my twins woke up in a delirious state and when I checked her levels on the app, her oxygen saturation was 82%….no alarm from the owlet unless it falls BELOW 80%. SO dangerous and I don’t know how long bubs had such a low O2 sat. Rushed her to the… Read more
hospital, she was sent straight to resuscitation, spent a 1.5 weeks in the hospital on oxygen and she wasn’t discharged until she could hold 98%+ overnight for 2 nights. I wrote to the company (and sent screen shots of the live statistics) to flag my concern and ask if the app could be modified to alarm at an higher limit (since it was dangerous) or to allow parents to set a higher limit. I was bluntly told ‘that’s not possible’ and my concerns didn’t seem to be taken seriously. The app even stated that the child’s “levels were NORMAL”. This is exceptionally misleading to parents and the child needs to be hospitalised. The resuscitation unit couldn’t believe that less than 80% was the ‘alarm’ limit on the owlet.

So many sleepless nights due to camera not working – While the sock is good I don’t think it’s necessary. The camera on the other hand is such a disappointment, I’ve been up at early hours of the morning trying to get it to reconnect. It’s frustrating and really disappointing considering how expensive the product is. I would not recommend it to anyone. I have a cheap vtech camera which does the job and is at least reliable unlike the owlet. Show details
Very disappointed – I have only used it 2 times before the app and the wifi problem decided to pop up. Very frustrating after paying soo much money for it. Definitely don’t recommend it don’t waste your money on something that your not going to be able to use. It’s not my internet as I have other baby units in the room that work with my wifi perfectly fine. It’s definitely your product that is crap. Show details

Fire hazard when charging one year after purchase – We used and loved the Owlet for a year but exactly one year after we bought it, the charging cable overheated and melted. The surface that it was on at the time was a fire hazard. Lucky we were home and started to smell the burning material. This is obviously a fire hazard and very unsafe. As far as any other issues, we always had issues with… Read more
the app which has stopped working on multiple occasions but we were able to work with that and generally did feel more comfortable using the owlet. Our main issue is the melting cable only a year after purchase, which is unacceptable.

Great sock but terrible customer service and false advertising! – We purchased the sock 2 in 2020 before the birth of our first born. Would love to have waited for the new sock to come out, however decided we didn’t want our newborn not to have the sock at all, so decided on purchasing the sock 2. It was great to start with, however once our baby grew we constantly got false slams through the app. The battery… Read more
also died 6 months in and we required a replacement.
Unfortunately, this is when we ran into issues - the US run the customer service via the app chat and it’s TERRIBLE! Very much a “well you don’t have the latest sock so too bad! Kind of deal”. Can not buy replacement socks or get any real help with something that is obviously faulty!
Was also told by one of the reps that despite the sock being heavily marketed to babies up to 25 pounds it’s common knowledge it actually only works properly up to 22 pounds.(screenshot attacked)
Very much a “buy our latest sock or we won’t help you properly type deal!” Despite having an option to upgrade the sock in the US - this option is NOT available in Australia!
Must say, however the Australian reps located in the Eastern states are lovely and could not be more helpful! It’s just a shame that Owlet don’t value their Aussie customers as much as they do their US customers!

Great overall but some improvements! – Registered Paediatric Nurse. This product has eased my anxiety 10 fold. I am able to sleep a few hours straight now, instead of waking frequently to check on my 3 month old. The product was easy to set up following the instructions. Great battery life! Love the sleep monitoring feature. I think the app itself is average, takes a while to load… Read more
the readings and occasionally needs to be rebooted. The main screen is okay but I don’t find the ‘history’ tab overly user friendly.
The major recommendation I have is to provide age appropriate ranges for the heart rate, not just a blanket 60-220. A heart rate of 60bpm is pre-cardiac arrest for an infant under 1, it really should alert you under 80!!!
Saved our boy twice! – Our Owlet picked up low oxygen on our 3 week old baby boy. We got him to hospital just in time and he began having seizures. He had viral meningitis and was picked up so early he was ok. The doctors used the data from the Owlet to help assess him. Fast forward 9 months and his heart rate felt high through his chest. I put on his owlet and it… Read more · 1
detected a heart rate of 273! We phoned 000. We have now been in hospital for 4 days. The owlet saved our boy not once, but twice and I couldn’t be more grateful. Best product out there. Thank you for saving our boy twice!
Best device I bought for our baby – We absolutely love the Owlet Smart Sock. Bought it back in 2018 for our firstborn and currently using it for our second born (9 months) after using it far into second year of my first. Our baby is in her own room, and the base station is in ours, so if I wake up at night I can see the green light which makes me dose off easily again. We are lucky… Read more · 1
(touch wood) that we haven't had any incidents, and haven't had any false alarms either, but my friend who recommended it made me promise to get it after it had saved her babies life (she got a red alarm and found her girl stuck on a stuffed animal). There may be many opinions about whether it's worth it, but really when we have technology for all sorts of dumb reasons, why not invest in technology that can actually give you peace of mind and potentially save lives. Absolutely worth every penny!

Getting a refund of this product – I’m very disappointed false advertising. We purchased in Australia the owlet 3e, brand new product from baby bunting which they have just started using this product in there stores. We purchased the owlet 3e for the app to use if we were outside working or around the house we should get a notification from the app on our phone. The app only… Read more
works if the app is open on your phone. So if your on the phone talking, using another app you won’t receive a notification only the base station alarms. Which is plug into a power point inside.
After speaking with owlet support team, they confirmed that this issue was getting rectified by the USA team. From the conversation I felt that this may never have worked before you must be on the app for this to work.
So false advertising as we purchased this product for the app. If we just installed this thinking it work and something happened to our baby while we were outside who is liable ??? If your paying for a product which is over $500.000 you expect this to work and not be told oh the team over in USA are rectifying this issue. No time frame was mentioned when it would be fixed.
I have since spoken to baby bunting and advised them that this product doesn’t say what it does. They definitely need to know that they a selling a product that doesn’t work on the app.
Mixed feelings – I saw this product before I fell pregnant and when we did our first round of baby shopping this was a must! I love the idea of this, the camera and the sock, very helpful and reassuring however the quality is not that great. Considering how much you pay, the sock plays up a lot and doesn’t connect properly and the camera doesn’t load unless you… Read more
open and close the app 3 times.. this is painful and annoying considering the price, I would like it much more if it worked properly. I purchased the camera myself, but the sock was a gift and I feel bad for my sister in law who bought it because we barely use it.

Not as good as everyone makes out – I don’t think this sock is as good as everyone makes it out to be. I got the sock 3 and the camera and they are both extremely delayed which makes me worry if something does happen to my son heaven I would be notified in real time.

Would be amazing but the stupid thing wakes my baby constantly – The base is only a couple of metres from the sock and keeps losing connection and the stupid alarm wakes my LO. bought in Australia? So I emailed the nz department and got asked to provide evidence of purchase.. and I was like I bought it through u guys directly and in Australia , they had all my details and everything on record so can you please look it up or check in with them and they said they need evidence of nz purchase which is when it got all too hard for me. I have another baby coming shortly and would have loved to use the owlet, disappointed that it’s no longer charging and that the customer service response was so crap in the end.
Great products but needs improvement- honest review from a paediatric nurse – Love the camera and monitoring sock, has kept our bubba safe, generally happy with both products. We were able to pick up a low oxygen saturation readings when baby was sick, and also fevers when babies heart rate was high when asleep. There's just a few issues. The sock can give incorrect readings at times and disconnect from the base station… Read more
with alarms, it has woken me and my partner up on multiple occasions. Also we bought a second camera for our other bubba. Note that you can switch between camera profiles on the app, but you can not stream two cameras at once. So if you're looking to monitor 2 kids at once on the one app the owlet doesn't do that. You would need two devices to monitor two children which is abit inconvenient. Good products but needs improvement.

Poor Customer Service – The first sock we purchased did not work properly. The sensor is faulty. We have been waiting over 6 weeks for a replacement. Was just provided an additional 4 week timeline. But we can purchase a brand new one online and receive it in 2 days. Customer service won’t do anything to rectify the situation. Show details
Sensor keeps failing – It was good to start with then after 6 months started having issues with the sensor turning off. Owlet sent a replacement sensor. Now neither sensor is charging and I’m just told to buy a new sensor. It’ll be useless if it won’t charge. I’m extremely disappointed in this product Show details

Disappointed – I purchased the Owlet 2 in 2019. Used it with my daughter and absolutely loved it. I raved about this product to everyone I know and highly recommended (I’m sure this would have resulted in a few extra sales). I shut down the sensor and stored as suggested. and bought replacement fabric socks!! Well since using it this time, I receive approx 30+ yellow and at least 5x red notifications each night. I’m confident in my sock placement so know this isn’t the issue. I’ve tried every method of trouble shooting, tried rebooting the sensor and nothing has worked. I even took my baby to the doctor concerned if she was actually desaturating! I’ve tried to contact Owlet customer service and have been told 3 days in a row that someone would call me back, and no one ever does. So I sent a very detailed email, listing all my concerns. And received a two line email back stating to buy a new sensor!! I feel I’ve already spent enough money on the device and it’s not good enough that it’s failed. I just want to speak to someone from customer service so that I can try to trouble shoot the problem with them before I just spend $$$$ on a new sensor that might not even fix the problem!! So disappointed.

Unreliable – We have the smart sock 2 and the blue notifications continued to go off constantly and the sock stopped charging. Owlet wouldn’t replace it, they suggested ebay or Facebook maketplace. 100% worth the purchase! – We recently purchased the owlet sock and monitor for our 3 month old baby. oxygen levels are. I have been super impressed with the quality of the product. I’m a registered nurse and I personally think the sock is comparable to the high grade medical equipment we use in the hospital. Out bub doesn’t even notice when we put the sock on and it doesn’t leave any marks. The set up was super easy to follow and only took me around 20 minutes to set up both sock and camera. My husband installed the camera above her cot and the hd camera quality is incredible compared to the other monitor we purchased. We have a small house so the range of coverage works really well from every room. The product is pricey but honestly for the peace of mind it provides it would 100% pay it again. The battery life is awesome (16hrs) and it charges so quickly. Next time owlet does an upgrade the only feature I would love to see would be an included white noise shoosher that you could turn on and off From the App. That would be amazing. I love this product and highly recommended it to other mums who are feeling the same way I was. Thanks Owlet!
Not worth the price tag – We have been using the owlet socks 3 for almost 3 months now. Most of the time it does what the company claims it does which is to monitor our baby’s heart rate and oxygen level (although there’s no way for me to verify how accurate those readings are). However I found the following: 1. They claim that the device can provide insight of the baby s… Read more
sleeping pattern. However the sleep data is highly inaccurate (eg it records wake time as sleeping time). 2. By 2 months of age the socks are causing bruises on my baby’s ankles no matter how loose I tried to fit it. We have also changed to the next size and tried alternating feet but it s still causes bruises on my baby’s ankles. Mind you the device will not work if we fit it too loosely. There’s no way to fit it in a way that will work without causing bruises. 3. The base station connects to the sock via Bluetooth and the connection is limited to a very short distance. Our base station is in our bedroom, so if my husband take baby outside the bedroom to the sitting room the devices will lose connection (our house is a very small house so the distance is not long at all). And then the base station will keep making this very loud siren which is not very nice in the middle of the night. For the above reasons I don’t think this product is worth the price tag. My $129 Fitbit does the exact same things like measuring heartbeats (and more) while this sock costed us close to $400 just because it is designed for babies. Especially when one of the major features that it advertises for (I.e. the sleep pattern insight) is actually non existence.
Best product on the market – This sock has saved my babies life. I put it on my daughters foot for the first time at home at 6 days old and within an hour it has signalled low oxygen saturation, when I got to her she was limp, same agin the following morning. Saved our babe ❤️ – We purchased the Owlett after our bub became very unwell and was diagnosed with a type of SVT. rhythm. It was early in the night and luckily she was wearing her Owlett which alerted us and enabled us to get her to hospital quickly. If she hadn’t been wearing the Owlett we likely wouldn’t have known until morning when we check her with the stethoscope, after which time she would have been more challenging to get back into normal rhythm and May have suffered further damage to her heart. Our sensor was faulty and stopped working recently (after using it every day and I think for longer than the warranty period) and Owlett very kindly and promptly replaced it for us. We were also able to replace the sock (our daughter is now almost two and we use it ALL the time). We do still use the monitor at 21 months because we really can’t find another equal alternative. Luckily our daughter is petite and the sock still fits her. I couldn’t recommend Owlett enough. Our paediatric cardiologist has also been very impressed. Thank you so much Owlett. Literally life savers.
Love this! Can actually relax while baby sleeps! – Gives me peace of mind when bub sleeps through wherever we are, without having to wake to check on him.
