Love it! (Wk3, year 1 and year 2 update at the bottom) – My ten year old Westinghouse gave away last week and we were out for a replacement. Loved the family hub and obviously it came at a premium! Took a bit of convincing but my sweetheart knew that I had my eyes set on the family hub so supported me all the way. It took some research online but homed on to this as even the sales man reinforced that drawer type freezer was to stay away from. have had it for a couple of weeks. Works like a charm. Love the photo collage, timer, lists, whiteboard functions. Will post a more detailed review in a few months! Ok ....week 3 update Still loving it ;).....I seriously mean it! Was great to have such easy access to the favourite online recipes as I cooked (pm me for beef hokkien noodles recipe that will knock your socks off). Ample space for a family of 7! Configurable shelving Was easy to use and very handy. My other favourite app on the screen is YouTube.... love to put on music videos as I cook Here are some of the issues:

Noticed the freezer had developed ice all over. I think one of us didn't close the door properly and also one of the cutoff tops of a packaging came between the door seal.... so either of those could have done it.... took the protruding packaging out and closed the door properly and the situation corrected itself-all Ice was gone in a few hours..... my concern is why did I not get an alert that something was not right either the freezer door! Surely this over smart fridge should have known and alerted me. Samsung engineers..... are you listening?

YouTube is not an app on the fridge boohoohooo. Have to view it on the browser! That means video stops when I have to browse the recipes.... my playlist wont auto run.... please please please Samsung-put it on as an app. Its a shame that I have a fridge with such a big screen and no YouTube app!

Lastly the door handles attract fingerprints like crazy! Clean it 10 times a day and its To square one in minutes. Will do some web search on how to manage that more efficiently....,,

Can I just finish by saying the whole family loves it!

September 2020 One year and going strong. Mighty happy with the performance. Have configured ‘smart things’ app to control all my smart lighting at home which is super cool! Also have my ring door bell and security cameras feeding into the fridge. The apps are a bit temperamental and do malfunction once in a while but easily fixed by a reboot. I am still waiting for the YouTube app! Door handles continue to be a nuisance to keep them clean as they are finger-print magnets. The screen has alerted me that the water filter needs a replacement so I’d be ordering one soon.

June 2021 Pandemic has happened & the fridge has had more than expected attention due to everyone working from home. The fridge is chugging along well. The 'smart things' app and the 'Ring' app have settled down well. No more crashes and has made managing these devices really easy. Had the bottom right section configured as fridge for a few months when there were a few parties planned (during the brief respite from COVID) and have now reverted to freezer (really convenient feature).

I do reiterate that Samsung haven't addressed any of the issues I have previously pointed. Nor have I heard from them. Realities of life......why would they bother responding to a review that talks them up....squeaky wheel gets the oil...so I see them responding to every scathing review that people write after a poor experience! For the nuisance value of having to repeatedly clean the door handle, I am downgrading the 'cleaning & maintenance' score.

Purchased in at JB Hi-Fi for $4,600.
