Our perfect bush retreat ! – We came to Stroud after a pretty horrible and costly experience trying to get a custom build off the ground. Immediately we felt at ease with Joel and the team and they really did everything possible to ensure our build with them was going to be a positive experience.
Our build was managed with complete professionalism from the entire team from Stroud Port Macquarie. Every tradesman and woman that was part of our build were fantastic and such a dream to work with.
As with every build we had some very minor issues but nothing was every too much trouble for either the tradesmen involved or the team in the office. All identified issues were very quickly resolved and fixed properly. At no time were we concerned that something would be left unfinished. We too made some small changes along the way and not once were we made to feel like we were being a nuisance or being difficult.
We were very mindful of the cost of building our home as we did the whole build for cash. The price at the time of signing is exactly what it cost us (apart from some variations we asked for). The process of making progress payments was smooth and there were never any hidden extra's. The invoices were always sent to us when we expecting them (so no surprises with early requests for payments) and receipts were always sent immediately. The entire contractual and financial side of our dealings was extremely easy which reduced any unnecessary stress.
We cannot express enough our gratitude and thanks to Joel, Alla, Allison and Sara. They were nothing short of amazing !

In speaking with Joel and Alla, they’ve told me that you built a stunning Montego 393 Skillion Façade. You had a clear vision for the home which included a lot of unique features. Some of these features involved some challenging construction methods and time setbacks, however you all worked together to keep everything on track and achieve the desired results. You were very understanding and respectful of the construction and variations process. To share with anyone reading this review, some of the beautiful features you included were:
- Custom Orb cladding to the entire façade, with the exception of stone columns. - 150 year old convict bricks set into the front door threshold slab/tiling. - 400mm x 200mm reclaimed hardwood beam weighing 400kg running from floor to ceiling in the kitchen (ceiling height in the area is about 4.7 meters). - Black ceiling to the raked kitchen, living area and media room. - Floor to ceiling window (fixed glass panel) in the ensuite shower.
