Our home was built on time, to a very high standard and on budget. We love it – Short version: Yes, we would use Stroud again Yes, Nathan did a great job managing our build and, Yes, we love our new home.

Long version: The sales and contract management team were great and honest about what to expect. Our home was built on time, to a very high standard and on budget. No surprises, no dramas and no issues.

The building supervisors and Nathan (the owner) were amazing, knowledgeable and professional. I would ask questions through an App they prefer and they would respond within a few hours, every time.

This was our first build. Stroud had a great design and we modified it slightly to add an extra guest room. This was done very well and without much additional cost.

Some additions to the off plan design are very expensive for what they were. I won’t list them but after speaking with other people who have built houses Stroud were actually on the more reasonable side…so it is an industry wide thing. On the whole though our Stroud home was a bit dearer than others we looked at but the quality followed and we are very pleased.

For example things we like that we didn’t even know to ask about are that out gas connection is recessed and covered (looks nicer) than just leaving it exposed, our light switch dimmers are push buttons not those dials, all cupboards and drawers are soft closers, our taps, toilets and basins are much nicer than we expected.

The builders who work with Stroud are obviously selected carefully.

Our electricians (Bear Electrical) were also amazing, responsive and helped us get our house electrical set up well. Stroud organized a meeting with them on site to make sure we all knew what went where.

We opted for tiling throughout the entire house and the tiling was done very well. This was important to us.

We also had a great time with the colour consultant whom Stroud had organised.

Lastly, here is my tip. Spend a lot of time going through each and every quote and draft design. Check everything, power outlets, taps, lights, switches, cupboards, check EVERYTHING EVERY TIME. Check the prices, make sure you are happy with what the quote says. Do not hold back at the quoting stage. There is no renegotiating later. We had over twenty quotes drawn up and a lot of house design drafts. Stroud were very accommodating. Once we finally agreed on everything we signed the contract and let Stroud go off and do their thing. They did a great job.
