Our amazing experience with Stroud Toowoomba – We commenced our building journey with Stroud Homes Toowoomba in January 2022. At that time (as it still is now) the building industry was facing issues with material and staff shortages and budget blowouts. We had heard that some builders had orders placed for frames and trusses going out to September, so we were surprised but pleased to discover Stroud Toowoomba were not locking in builds more than 6 months out. This gave us confidence that Stroud Toowoomba were on top of their cash flow, pricing, ordering and contractors. This was evident through the build process too. Once our build was started, the only real delay was due to their roofing contractor losing their staff. This delayed the roof installation by five weeks, but while Pat (owner of Stroud Toowoomba) found a new roofer, anything that could be done on the build without the roof in place continued to ensure the build progressed.

It was important to us that our new home is able to meet our requirements for how we want to live now and into the future. Stroud Toowoomba made the process of customising their plans to suit our needs simple and straightforward. We worked with Nick, their salesman (who also has building qualifications) and he listened to our needs and wish list. He took on board our ideas and provided some great suggestions to make it even better. In the end we had taken Stroud’s “Hudson” design, flipped sections around to make it work for us, and included a cathedral ceiling from the entry through living to our alfresco. We chose our own fittings and appliances and nothing we suggested was too much trouble. Nick was very thorough and provided a detailed proposal, locking in the price of our build. This price did not change apart from additions and deletions that we made along the way.

Our home was completed on schedule, nine months after the slab was poured and we are incredibly happy with the result. It is very well built and with everything done to a high standard. Stroud Toowoomba's owner, Pat, is determined to ensure that everything is done right, even directing his team to replace two stone benchtops to achieve the high quality finish he wanted for our kitchen.

Nick (the other one), our building supervisor, kept us up to date every week on what had been completed and what was planned for the next week. Yes, there were minor delays here and there, but we kept in the loop with what was happening. Communications from the entire team was amazing – expectations are well managed and commitments are kept. Everything possible was done to ensure that our build kept moving forward.

We are very proud of our new home, which we are thoroughly enjoying, and we can absolutely recommend Pat and his team to anyone that is looking for a builder in the Darling Downs area.
