Stroud Homes personnel are easy to work with and communicate with. Quality of building materials and workmanship are good. Just have a small issue, there are a lot of hairline cracks on the concrete at the alfresco & carport area. Post construction - minor issues were handled fairly quickly. Two things that stood out to us, firstly they weren't close minded with our ideas and changes, even providing us with alternatives when our bank was less than co-operative and secondly Stroud Toowoomba are local to the region and only use local trades and suppliers, which for us shows a very high level of community spirit and support.

Price point was paramount and the one thing that stands out with Stroud Toowoomba is that their standard inclusions are added extras with many other builders, both local and new to the region, this allowed us to be able to choose high quality items with out the added cost.

We would thoroughly recommend this team. If in doubt just go and chat with the team located at Highfields. Be assured once you've spoken to Deb, Nick or Patrick you will know that they're the builder to go with.

that meant our year post build maintenance review was due in 2020/2021 in the height of COVID. We were also dealing with the early arrival of newborn twins.

We contacted the Stroud Toowoomba team in 2021 re: our maintenance and were told we would be contacted. When we didn't hear anything we sent another email, and another, and another with either no response or a "we will get to you" with an apology. In the meantime, we are noting more things wrong and parts of the house that are not functioning as they should or potentially being installed incorrectly. When we have brought this to the attention of the team (who have had changes within the team since we built, but not since contacting) we either get ZERO communication back or more promises of we will be seen to soon. We are now coming to the end of 2022 and we have had no-one out.

We now have a faulty water pump that trips half the house, which means it's not being used and we have a tank of water just sitting, we have a gate that the lever to open and shut has snapped off and with young children and a large dog is not ideal, and we have all issues (which may be minor and cosmetic) previously explained to them.

I am really disappointed as we recommended Stroud to so many people and even had conversations of building a future home with them again. I really hoped I would have heard from them by now, but it truly seems like they are just ignoring us now.

Edit: 2022/23 We had contact made by the Toowoomba team and it took months from contact to someone coming through to look at the issues, sand back the doors and then paint. We have had no contact despite constant contact from me regarding the plumbing issues.

Edit - April '23 Had contact made by [Name Removed] from Head Office and he was great and made contact with the Stroud team. We had someone come out and fix all issues. Thankfully, but also very confused as now our pump is working and doesn't seem to be tripping anything - but we have been asked to keep an eye on it.

First time build – First time buying and building was a overwhelming process but, The Toowoomba team at Stroud made everything a smooth process starting with our sales rep , she went above and beyond to help us through the early stages. Megan the first time about house plans, our wants/ non negotiable inclusions or exclusions and budget, she was quick to reply with house plan suggestions. Any changes we made were always supported and never too difficult. The only delays we ever had were weather which was completely out of anyone’s control and the final bank inspection which was delayed by the bank due to the inundation of houses being completed following the Home Builder grant.

Megan and Pat; your entire team has just been the best to us. We worried about how stressful building would be but you guys made it so easy. From our intitial consultation with Megan our new home journey was smooth. Pat, Megan, Deb, our building supervisor Brendan, as well as all the other subbies / contractors were professional and easy to deal with.

Even after signing our contract we made a number of changes and upgrades to our plan. Our requests were dealt with promptly as were any queries we had throughout the entire building process. Nothing was too much trouble for these guys! Communication was great with weekly updates from Brendan, as well as numerous other phone calls, messages and emails from all involved.

Not only did Stroud Homes Toowoomba have to construct a near 400m2 Customized Wildflower with an Attached Granny Flat, but they had to supply us with our 24 metre dream shed, as well as fully landscape our near 3/4 acre block. Pat and the team had no trouble completing it all, and they did so ahead of schedule.

It was so nice to be greeted by Pat, Megan, Deb and Brendan on handover day, along with the big green bow on the front door. What a lovely touch that is, we didn't take the bow off for a week! The icing on the cake though was walking into an immaculately presented house.

They would attentively listen and attend to all our concerns with understanding and sorted out issues promptly and professionally. It was also impressive how Stroud Homes gave importance to keeping its clients always in the loop every step of the building process until its completion. They would provide weekly updates and progress and timely at responding to emails and phone calls. The good communication that we had with the Stroud team was enough indication that we were in great and customer-committed hands, and what an immense relief it was.

We couldn't be more delighted with Stroud Homes Toowoomba's quality of build as they kept true to their promise. The independent third-party certifier was big consideration in our decision to build with Stroud Homes. The pre-handover report from the independent certifier had given us some peace of mind knowing that the issues raised were simply minor and were easy to fix, and to me, that spoke volumes of the team's quality of build. Moreover, Stroud's after build service is something that I would highly commend. The team had contacted us 18 months later after handover to find out for any possible issues and concerns that needed to be addressed to, and for me, that is praiseworthy. All identified issues were fixed promptly enough.

In terms of cost, the build stayed within our budget and there were no surprises. Stroud Homes was impressively transparent and their contract was well-defined making the whole experience worthwhile and almost stress-free. Additionally, it was a big help that Patrick was very accommodating and always willing to give his practical advice when asked.

We stuck with many of the standard inclusions which seemed to exceed those offered by other building companies. Any changes and upgrades we did add to the project were included seamlessly with little fuss from the Stroud Toowoomba team. The Montego is a great design though we did slightly modify the initial plan and again this was carried out with a minimum of hassle. Communication with the Stroud team (sales and building supervisors) throughout the journey was prompt and frequent allowing us to know exactly where things were at and how the project was progressing as a whole at any given time. The quality of the finishes for all trades was to a high standard suggesting the Stroud team only uses the best available personnel. Where communication was required between us and different contractors, Stroud staff facilitated this to achieve the most suitable outcomes. Balancing the requirements of different contractors throughout the build can be difficult especially in this instance where the project overlapped with the Christmas period, though the Stroud team managed to keep things moving along over this time.
