Cuckoo
Hot water is not hot enough – I purchased my Cuckoo Water Purifier Countertop Hot & Cold Fusion Water Filter Dispenser on special for around $650 a few years ago. I then paid $100… Read more
to have it installed by a professional. I’m happy with the cold filtered side of the unit but I’m not impressed with the hot side. I find the water is not hot enough for my coffee so I still have to use the electric kettle. Changing the filters is bothering and they don’t all get changed at the same time.
All in all I’m still happy with this product as I have turned the hot water off and just use it as a cold water dispenser.
Cuckoo IH
Cuckoo rice cooker – It is the best rice cooker I have ever used. The brown rice cooking function really working, there is no half cooked brown rice for Asian. The after sale servers is amazing as well.

Terrible Rice Cooker Experience: Absolutely Not Recommended – This is the worst rice cooker of my life. I ordered this model from CUCKOO Australia. I am Korean, and I know very well how to cook rice. When I open… Read more
the lid of the rice cooker, water pours out like a waterfall. And when I cook rice, it becomes hard in less than an hour, and after five hours, it becomes very hard. After a day, I can unwillingly eat something like nurungji (scorched rice), which is not what I want. So I contacted them and showed them the photos and videos I attached, but they replied that this is a common phenomenon in multi-cookers and that it is not optimized solely for cooking rice.
So I contacted CUCKOO Korea and showed them the same photos and videos. They responded that it is not normal for water to fall out like that and that I should have the product checked for defects. I have received no action from CUCKOO Australia, and they no longer respond. I have used another CUCKOO multi-cooker model for five years before this, and contrary to their explanation, I have never experienced such a phenomenon. CUCKOO service in Australia is the worst. I absolutely do not recommend this product.
Not satisfied with the way it cooks rice – I have given the Cuckoo CR-0632 (pink) rice cooker a 1 star rating because it does not cook the rice to my expectation – yours might be different. I… Read more
would describe the rice as light and fluffy, but slightly ál dente or slightly undercooked. My wife describes it as ´chewy´. ’Cuckoo’ who tested the cooker (I returned it) viewed the rice as not ál dente and fully cooked. Viewed my way it’s 1 star or viewed their way it’s a 5 star rating. I replaced my old economy rice because the rice would stick to the bottom of the pan (not so much light and fluffy, but cooked to my expectation). The cooker is well made and looks and feels good quality inside and out including the non stick pan. Having paid $149 delivered I can only say I am extremely disappointed in its performance. Their customer service was good. I was told their testing included cooking 2 lots of rice and did not experience the ál dente I did. On its return it still performs the way it did before (at their suggestion I soaked the rice for 10 minutes prior to cooking, but it made no difference) so clearly we have different views as to what passes as properly cooked. I used Basmati rice. I did request ‘what rice’ they used in the tests via email, but did not receive a reply. I then tried medium grain rice (more suited to risotto’s) and it did a better job, but not light and fluffy, more cooked and clumpy. Both by wife and son are ok with eating the Basmati rice, but for $149 I expect it to outperform a $40 rice cooker. I only selected this cooker as it has a basic on/off switch (nice and simple). I did not entertain their digital display rice cookers as the battery that powers the screen are expected to only last 5 years and require unsoldering/re-soldering to replace or buy a new rice cooker. 1. Be aware that I was informed if you buy direct from Cuckoo, you can’t return the product for a refund once you’ve opened the box if it does not meet your satisfaction (do not know if this applies to shop bought ones). If it is faulty, they will fix it and return it to you. 2. They also informed me that it is not suitable for cooking one cup of rice, as it is a 6 cup rice cooker, but it did not openly state this on their website at the time of purchase. I personally can’t follow the logic that I should know it suited to cook 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 cups of rice, but not 1. 3. They also informed that there are more expensive models that could cook the rice the way I like, but I won’t be purchasing one to find out.
$200 rice cooker stopped working after 9 weeks – Bought this $200 rice cooker 9 weeks ago, it already broke down and will not cook the rice, the water never gets to boiling temperatures. Not what I would expect from a famous Korean brand. It’s disgraceful!!
Excellent rice cooker that can also double as pressure or slow cooker – It is an excellent rice cooker, but for the price, it would need to be. It is a 5 star rice cooker, but I docked one star for price, flexibility as a… Read more
multicooker and the documentation.
There are many general purpose cookers that are able to cook rice, but many do so by cooking for a fixed time, rather than cooking for however long it takes until the right moisture level drops to the ideal level, which is how dedicated rice cookers like this one cook rice.
The result is that while many multicookers can cook rice, for those that work on a fixed time it is often a little "hit and miss" making their cooking of rice a compromise. While this cuckoo unit is perfect at cooking rice, but somewhat limited with the compromise being the use for other other functions.
The use of induction makes heating very uniform.
Limitations are those like, when used as a general pressure cooker, the rate of reduction of water is that optimised for cooking rice, which is a little higher than ideal for many other foods.
There are a variety of programs for cooking different types of rice and in different ways, with an option for high speed rice cooking and cooking both with and without pressure cooking. Then there are slow cook and generic pressure cooking as well as chicken soup and baby food modes.
Construction is very high quality. The bowl is much more solid than typical for a rice cooking bowl or the inner bowl of an electric pressure cooker, and has a non-stick surface. Many people don't like non-stick surfaces, the bowl only ever reaches a very low temperature and there is no sear function, so the biggest risks of non-stick are eliminated.
One limitation is the documentation, which may be clearer in the original Korean, but is not great in English, and finding an online version is a challenge.
