awsum tent – this review is for the darche 350 great tent , yes it weighs a bit but worth the quality , fits a double stretcher bed , luggage and our dog with… Read more

ease, this will last forever, if you have never slept in a canvas tent you dont know what your missing, keeps out so much light in the morning and lots of noise unlike all the thin wispy tents, and if its raining its only 4 pegs and one pole and its up enuff to throw your gear in, no fly needed , ok the one and only downside , the poles , the first time i put it up they all failed, the front awning poles twist to lock and they failed first go and no i wasnt reefing on them, and the center pole goes down with little down pressure , so i drilled and pinned the center pole which solved that one, and by the way if the center pole puts you off trust me it wont once you put the tent up , its like the tardis inside , and for the front awning poles im just going to buy sum new ones , the tent is that good its not a deal breaker , but it would be great if they could just get a better design pole , great tent, would never go back to wispy material tents, and for weight its not heavy its awkward, so dont use the straps to pick it up , grab it down low its way easier to carry , and seperate the poles and front awning from the bag :) happy camping people

I became a Darche supporter years ago when I first discovered the comfort of sleeping in a swag. The build quality, reliability and customer support… Read more

that Darche provides is second to none.

Here are my thoughts on the Nebula 1550:

My wife and I are in our early 50s. We don’t camp a great deal but when we do the Nebula is our home away from home. Yes, we doubled the mattress but do you absolutely have to? Nah.

It’s wide enough to hold both of our nearly 6ft frames and that of our faithful American Staffy, Torah. We opted for the larger nebula as it gave us just that extra bit of room, offered some nice screens for airflow and buttoned up tight when the weather sets in for the night.

A nebula gets you on the rd in comfort. It’s not a roof tent or a camper trailer but it packs up and down in a similar time and costs a fraction of the price.

In my humble opinion this crew make the best swags that money can buy. Yes, pack down is a little annoying but I’m able to take the money I saved not buying a caravan to spend more time camping and fishing.

Do yourself a favour, temper the reviews that you see on here with. Dose of reality. Most of these reviews sound like people just don’t like swagging it. So there’s the real question-do you want to camp via swag? If so, make peace with the idea and you’ll be very happy with a nebula.

Some Annoying Shortcomings – I think it's fair to say my wife and I have a love/hate relationship with this tent. We love the scope it gives us to camp anywhere we can get to in… Read more

our 4WD. We love the warmth of the tent even in the coldest of conditions. At the same time, and in hot conditions the design allows for more ventilation than any other tent I have ever used. It is solidly constructed and reliably waterproof even when it buckets down all night. In fact this is the second one of these tents we have owned having recently bought a new one. Now for the annoying and significant shortcomings. + The zipper of the cover will become firmly (and I mean put your back into it firmly) stuck in the fabric of the tent during pack up if you are not super careful. The YouTube video by Darche showing the tent being put away is at best wishful thinking and at worst deceptive and misleading. Freeing the cover once it is stuck has for us resulted in either torn tent fabric or a broken zipper tab. The latter is only fixable with a new replacement cover at around $200. + The fly of the tent will flap around incessantly and noisily when the wind gusts above 30km/h which is not much. In windy conditions we tuck half the fly up into the other half to reduce the noise and hope that it doesn't rain. We have been in situations where it blows a gale and rains so we have spent a sleepless night being periodically awakened (ie every10 minutes) by the billowing, slapping fly. + Bedding can be stored in the tent between uses. We keep our pillows and duvet inside. This changes the profile of the tent slightly making it harder to zip up the cover (on one side) and occasionally causes the straps that go over the tent cover to come loose and flap around whilst in transit. There is no real way of avoiding this from happening except to check and tighten the straps when you take breaks from driving. Not so annoying and irrelevant if you don't do a lot of off road driving is the need to periodically tighten various nuts and bolts holding the whole thing together. I have only had to do this once in the last twelve months so I'm not fussed that about it. The mattress that comes with it is of average quality and not as comfortable as advertised. I have read where some people replace it with one from Clarke Rubber or put a thin inflatable or self inflating mattress underneath it. If you do either of these you will need to remove the extra mattress before packing up.

Badly made - leaks around valves – Bought two of these mats for our tent. About the third time of using them noticed that they were not holding air. One of the selling points was… Read more

that they have four valves to let in air. This is unecessary and is the main week point. The bonding of the wall to the valves is badly done and the walls just pulls out from the valves allowing air to leak out when inflated or air to leak in when they are rolled up. This has occured with several of the four valves on each mat. Whilst each mat was supplied with a repair kit to fix a punture, but this repair kit is no use to fix the defective bonding of the valves. Not sure if I got two from a defective batch, but I would not recommend buying these mats.

Very comfy camp chair – Very comfortable chair. Tried lots with our caravanning, this one is the best compromise of weight, space and comfort. Quick to set up and fold away. Lightweight and love the high back with lumber support. Highly Recommend!

Don’t waste your money, cheap fabric – Dirty Dee Swag 1400 swag bag tore numerous holes just trying to get swag in the bag after setting it up for first time in my backyard. Darche refused to honour Warranty stating “Customer error”. Don’t waste your money.

whilst camping in cold weather but needed to economize on packing space so took the leap and purchased this cold weather sleeping bag. I was not disappointed at all. Packs up really compact, is well designed and most importantly was toasty warm when it was in -4 Celsius weather near Thredbo.

Wall not worth it unless your prepared to modify them – I would have been better making the wall out of clothes line pegs and wet paper. I think the wet paper would hold up better. Darche looks like the thought this up at 3.59 on Friday. Very poor design.

20km winds with 40km wind gusts first day of camp,. It collapsed within minutes, frame popped out of its hinges. Had an Oztrail gazebo set up at same time and it held up fine. Very disappointed. I bought Darche as the side awning I have on my car has been very good. Unfortunately this gazebo is a lemon.
