Had high hopes for this highly rated and expensive toaster. Found that if the middle is a nice brown the edges are burnt - every time. Turn it down and the edges are ok but the middle is hardly toasted. Very disappointed- wasted my money!

Failed after 2 years – 2 slots stopped working altogether after 2 years and dualit advise it is an unrepairable model ( no spares available) the remaining 2 slots only toast very unevenly. An expensive toaster that has to go to landfill after very little use

Not living up to expectations – I thought if I invested more in a good quality toaster, I'd acquire an appliance which would toast bread evenly. Sadly the Dualit has not lived up… Read more

to that expectation. While the appliance itself looks great great, it does not toast evenly. I'm still cutting off burnt parts of toast while other areas are pale.

according to the sticker on the bottom. I would suggest removing that misleading claim. That claim was the main reason I bought it. The manufacturer also claims that the toaster is repairable - so another reason why I bought it.

I expected a much sturdier internal construction. It feels and sounds just like a cheap toaster. The toaster has a powerful eject that with light bread can launch it out of the toaster onto the bench or floor. At this price point ($199) you would expect a soft eject and a tone, but the sling-shot ejection style makes such a noise you do not need an electronic tone.

On a positive note it does a good job with toasting evenly, is powerful at 2400 watts, and has uniform heating elements with only a couple of missed points that don't heat up fully.

Given that the price is about 2-3 times what you can buy with basically exactly the same construction standard. It feels just as 'cheap' and prone to mechanism failure (as my last toaster suffered). I've had one with the same large slots and that only cost about $80.

N11219 Model D2VMHA 2 slice toaster Awful - uneven toasting and lousy for gluten free bread – We were happy to invest in an expensive toaster in the hope of getting even toasted bread at the very least. Alas that was not to be! Despite… Read more

following the fairly strict rules that apply to using this product, the toasting is diabolically uneven - the worst we've ever had! We had to revert to using a cheapie supermarket bought toaster which does a great job at a fraction of the price! This clunker might be well made and last a lifetime but who wants a lifetime of crappy toast? What a waste of money!!
