Absolutely shocking customer service. Your "diverse" support team may be in Melbourne, but they still need to be trained. I have called four times to… Read more

where I am requesting to know if they received the documents they asked for... It saddens me no end that after 26 years being a customer and two houses with these people this is how they now treat others - no better than any of the big banks... Time to move on.

A joke of a bank – Worst service I’ve had with a bank. My mother and I are trying to apply for a loan for $10 000 for a car. We’re doing it together because myself, a… Read more

23 year old, would like to start getting a credit rating. They will not process the loan application because I can’t access my employment contract. I work for the DET (Department of Education) and can not access the office until the 27th of January. In the mean time, I’ve given GS all my PAYG summaries and previous payslips. Apparently PAYG and payslips don’t count as a record of holding a job. I’m not sure how an employment contract is a stronger piece of evidence than my payslips. This wasn’t something they asked for initially. If this was such important document, you’d think the loan team would ask for it straight away. This bank has no support for Youth and I would not recommend using this bank if you’d like a bank with good customer service. We constantly get hung up on when the customer service team can’t help us. We’ve been ringing the customer service team multiple times a day for a week, and our loan has not progressed anywhere. It’s getting to the point where my mother is considering removing her home loan and taking our whole families business elsewhere. Before applying for a loan here, look at the reviews of any other bank. I wish I looked before committing a week of my time to a incompetent company. My friends are starting to buy houses, and I will make sure they steer clear of this bank for a home loan, for any loan.

Unnecessary step(s) to earn highest interest – - Home Saver Account offers 5.25% with conditions - You need to deposit $2K (*you can withdraw) - The unnecessary step (*in my opinion): don't… Read more

deposit direct into Home Saver [ where your bonus interest is accrued ] instead deposit into everyday account then transfer to Home Saver otherwise you don't meet criteria, therefore get zero bonus interest - Finally when their interest rates change or drop, you don't get notified (apparently it's too costly to undertake such) so it just costs customers in lost interest. This is low hanging fruit for GSB to improve upon - GSB can just electronic communication of upcoming change to interest on the app/internet banking/email - it's not that costly.

Unreal balance transfer interest free period – I was approved for a new credit card with balance transfer a couple months ago. At the time of approval there was a promotion of balance transfer… Read more

interest free period of more than 1-2 years.

I used the card as usual, and made repayments weekly to cover my weekly purchasing balance to avoid purchase interest. Surprisingly, I have got purchase interest charge on every bill since the 2nd bill.

I contacted them for the unusual interest charges. Today, I just found that my balance transfer, with 1-2 years interest free, has been reduced to be lower than 1/4 of the beginning balance. But my purchasing balance, which should be nearly zero according to my weekly regular repayments, has not been repaid and is approximately at 7 time of my weekly spending.

It seem like the bank deduct my repayments to the Interest Free Balance Transfer First which is difference other bank. Still waiting for more answer on this likely misleading.
