Bad wi fi connection problems – Keeps dropping Wi Fi, seems this is a major fault with Hisense TV's. Have no issue with the sound but this is no good if you have to keep stopping… Read more

What can we say once again, at our favourite tech store JB Hi -FI Sundew Rise Joondalup, with our usual go to staff member! We were in the market… Read more

for a new TV for the spare room, we had visitors from the UK, arriving soonish!

We purchased a Hisense 65” U8HAU 4K ULED QLED Mini LED Smart TV, unfortunately we couldn’t fit a bigger TV, it is unbelievable to be sure, the clarity and crispness of the picture, the TV sound is outstanding and the Hisense sound bar is unbelievable to say the least, it was a bargain by any measure!

We have a larger Hisense TV in our lounge, it’s a little older and we find ourselves watching movies in the spare room, the picture is unbelievable as I said! Almost time for a new lounge TV, a 100” model!

We have 3 Hisense TV’s in total and they are all very good indeed, reasonably priced, very good value for money!

Excellent product ata great price – Was delivered in great shape by The Good Guys. Took us 10 mins to open and set up from scratch - easy as pie and we hardly needed the manual. Great… Read more

picture and good sound. Great price for a 55" smart TV. Our previous was a 55" LG which gave up after 12 years and which in present day, inflation adjusted prices cost around $4900. This was $680 +$25 delivery and it looks and sounds just as good although it doesn't have 3D (which nobody is making any longer - it flopped).

Disappointing TV – Is generally a good telly with HDR, DOLBY VISION and DOLBY ATMOS. The most negative thing is that these tvs just lose video signal and you get a… Read more

black screen. Audio keeps going it is just the video that stops. Only way to reset is to unplug from the power and leave for a few mins and try again, sometimes this works fine other times tv only stays on for couple of mins before doing the same thing again. If I had known of this issue I may not have bought this tv. I have read some of the reviews here and I agree that the Vidaa OS is absolute rubbish, please Hisense get rid of this system.

what is suggested by the manual. I really think the cost of printing a user manual would make for better customer relations. It did take me quite a while to get the audio working through my surround sound system. Overall the picture is great and the sound isn't bad but it does sound better through my sound system. Remote is good.

The image quality of this TV is good, and there are options for setting it to different picture styles - Cinema, Filmmaker Mode etc to adjust the… Read more

picture quality depending on what you are watching. That’s the main strength of this TV. Its biggest weakness for a Smart TV is that it runs on Hisense’s VIDAA operating system, which offers only a very limited range of apps beyond the main streaming services like Netflix, Disney+, YouTube, and the main TV on demand channels - no Spotify, no Kanopy, no Hoopla, and only a choice of 2 free internet radio apps that provide a limited range of intenet stations. You want more than this from a Smart TV these days. It does have is own free VIDAA TV channels - featuring shows no one would ever watch (unless you’re a big soccer fan.) The built in speakers are low quality - as you’d expect in that price range, but there is Bluetooth connectivity to connect to a Bluetooth speaker or soundbar, or you can connect it to a stereo system via the headphones outlet or Optical (TOSLINK). However the volume controller on the remote won’t work on the Optical output, so then you have to manually adjust the volume on your amplifier - and that’s just poor engineering. One of the most annoying features of the TV is that the video play controls for streaming media are not on the remote - you press a button on the remote and the video play controls appear in a circle on the TV screen - but they take a lot of practice to use, as it’s easy to click on the Stop button in the centre of the circle when you only meant to pause the video and that closes the video and you have to log back into it again to continue watching. Whoever thought that one up obviously didn’t try using it. One feature of the VIDAA system that might suit some users is that you can access a very large digital art collection and have a selection of art displayed on the screen -this might be nice if you have your TV up on a wall and want to have an art display on show when not watching TV. The remote also has voice control, so you can say “Play Channel 20” instead of pressing the buttons on the remote, or can ask YouTube to find and play a certain video, though it’s not a feature I have found much use for. In summary, if you want a TV that has good picture quality and has the most common video streaming apps installed and you don’t mind having an impractical video play control function, this TV would be OK. But if you wanted a far better range of apps, buy a TV with the Samsung Tizen OS or Android operating system instead.

Product Review: Hisense U8Q AU I recently purchased the Hisense U8Q AU TV five days ago while on the Sunshine Coast, and I must admit, my experience… Read more

has been quite disappointing. I was drawn to this model after reading numerous positive reviews about its picture quality and 4.1 sound system, which includes a subwoofer. However, my excitement quickly turned to frustration.

First and foremost, let’s talk about the sound quality. I have spent the last four days trying to adjust the audio settings, but unfortunately, I have had no success. The sound from the speakers is subpar—far below what I would expect from a mid-range TV. In fact, I believe even cheaper models would outperform it in this regard.

As for the picture quality, while it may be vibrant, I find the standard mode to be overwhelmingly bright—almost painful to look at for extended periods. I’ve adjusted the settings multiple times, but it seems like no matter what I do, I can’t achieve a satisfactory balance.

Overall, I am genuinely disappointed with this model. If I have to spend this much time fiddling with a new TV just to get it to a decent level of performance, I can't help but feel that my money would have been better spent on another brand. Ironically, my six-year-old Hisense TV performed better than this one.

In summary, I cannot recommend the Hisense U8Q AU based on my experience. I expected much more from a brand that has previously impressed me. If you’re considering this model, you might want to look elsewhere.
