renewal. When I received my renewal policy, they increased the policy by $240. So if the AUTOMATIC renewal was activated my new policy was increased $240 for the next 12 months. When I rang Youi To tell them that I do not wish to renew the policy again They offered a new revised policy which was actually $100 cheaper than my current policy. In summary, If you don't cancel the AUTOMATIC renewal on your policy, you will be paying too much for the new policy. In my case, I was ripped off by $100 on my current policy and if I went ahead with Automatic renewal, I would have been ripped off another $240 Be warned, DELETE THE AUTOMATIC RENEWAL CLAUSE ON YOUR POLICY

assessed as a total loss, yet RACV has repeatedly denied our claim, citing various clauses in their policy. This has left us with a significant financial burden and caused immense frustration and stress. We initially chose RACV for the peace of mind that comes with being covered for unexpected accidents, but this experience has been nothing short of disappointing. The communication throughout this ordeal has been abysmal. I strongly advise against using RACV for your insurance needs.

tried to obtain a quote from GIO. However, because it was stored in an undercover storage facility with other vans, despite it being fitted with a towing hitch lock and a tracking device, they would not insure it but would do so if stored on my front lawn with no security devices whatsoever. Go figure.
Above storage facility has now been sold and van is now stored at the rear of a nearby residential property (not mine) and again, they will not cover it and will only do so if stored at my home, a commercial storage facility or a caravan park.

customers. It and Qantas feed from the same trough. We got a quote for a new caravan and provided all the required information. At the time we got the quote we were told, and understood, that it was an ‘indicative’ quote and that there would be a ‘slight’ change in the premium. On the morning of picking up the van we rang the NRMA and said we would like to take out the policy. NRMA then said that the cost of the policy was $400 / 14% more than the quote. We said that is a big jump from the quoted price and it was much more than a ‘slight’ change. NRMA shrugged its corporate shoulders. We then lodged a formal complaint and were told ‘[Name Removed]’ would contact us. He never did, so we rang and asked to speak to him. We were then told that [Name Removed] had finalised and closed our complaint and he had no need to speak with us. [Name Removed] has the easiest job in the NRMA because he never needs to talk to anyone, or actually address their concerns.
