this a great introduction to induction cooking and a bit of an eye-opener. It excels at dishes that require a long, slow, even simmer, such as jams, stewed fruit, and meat stews. The heat control is responsive and it holds a gentle simmer very well. The unit is also compact, lightweight, and easy to store when not in use. The smooth glass surface makes cleaning quick and simple, which is a definite advantage over a traditional gas cooktop. The only downside I've noticed is that it cycles on and off at some power settings. While this appears to be normal for this type of appliance, it can take a little getting used to if you're accustomed to cooking on gas. Overall, it's a practical, easy-to-use cooktop that offers many of the benefits of induction cooking at an affordable price.

It took me six months of arguing with Westinghouse mostly via their customer care line (who are not trained to go off script & it seems impossible to get to speak to someone who understands the product and is local) & they finally replaced the cooktop. The replacement has been in my apartment for seven months before it turned off one day and has never turned on again. Since then I have been trying to get Westinghouse to pay attention to the problem as I currently live with no cooktop, however they have ignored me. They will not speak to me. I’ve asked multiple times to speak with people. They do not care. I have never regretted buying a product so much. Two brand-new cooktops & alot of inconvenience along with periods of not being able to cook. Neither even stood up to the bare minimum of its operations and the lack of service from this company is appalling. The current line they are feeding me is they found traces of a cockroach which takes it out of warranty. I don’t know how they think a product like this in Australia is never going to have a cockroach throughout the lifetime of an oven. My building is pest free and has regular pest control. It does not have a cockroach problem however they managed to take a photo of a cockroach shell which may have been there for years. I am also being told to pay a service fee for them to come out and tell me they can do nothing after a seven month oven dies that should be under warranty. Do not purchase from them because if you get a faulty product, they do not care and they will put you through the ringer to get a replacement. The only reason I am giving up is because I don’t have the time and I think they rely on this. I will find a different brand that has no association with this name and I’m sure it will save me a lot of inconvenience when I’m cooking at home. The water might boil as fast as they claim the cooktop might only beep when I’m pushing the buttons and it might last more than seven months before it goes faulty.

Purchased an ikea portable hob and have had no issues which confirmed for me that it wasn’t anything I was doing wrong.

Also, despite the brand name being Westinghouse, this is imported by a distribution company and is not all that closely related to Australian made Westinghouse products. It’s basically a rebranded generic product which is reflected in its poor quality and performance.

Burners are adequate but sometimes tricky to start. Wok burner has great heat but that's the only decent thing about it.

The very first time we turned the cooktop on, it displayed an E9 error and could not be used. We contacted Westinghouse customer service and, after dealing with an overseas call centre, were given a ticket number and referred to a technician.

A week later, we were told that the technician did not service our area. Westinghouse then referred us to another three technicians before finally finding one who would accept the job. When the technician eventually inspected the cooktop, he identified it as a software issue and said he would submit a report requesting a replacement.

Another week passed, so I contacted Westinghouse again, only to discover they had still not received the technician's report. By this point, a month had passed since my original complaint, so I requested that the matter be escalated. I was given another ticket number, along with an escalation ticket, and was assured that someone would contact me within 24–48 hours. A week later, I am still waiting and have heard absolutely nothing.

Six weeks after purchasing a brand-new cooktop, we are still without a working stovetop. What makes this particularly disappointing is that we paid a premium for Westinghouse compared with some competing brands because we trusted the name and expected better quality and customer service.

I have been loyal to Westinghouse for more than 40 years and have had numerous Westinghouse products in our home. I always regarded it as a trusted Australian brand, which is why this experience has been particularly disappointing. The issue itself is frustrating enough, but the lack of communication, repeated referrals and failure to resolve the problem within a reasonable timeframe have completely changed my view of the company. After 40 years of loyalty, I doubt I will be purchasing another Westinghouse product.

gas smell in the kitchen. I called the plumber who came straight away to check it out and was told that his work was okay. I contacted Westinghouse/electrolytes service and requested a service call. I was told to sit home from 7 am until 6 pm and await a technician. No one showed up. I must note that the service call centre is in the Philippines and language at times is very difficult. The gas leak continued and I had a further five service calls of which one I was charged an extra $80 which I reluctantly paid in the interest of safety. Electrolux where totally unable to fix the gas leak which was emanating slightly from one of the burners when it turned off. Electrolux service refused to give an approximate time for the service calls and insist that you sit and wait from 7 am until 6 pm which means time off work, they don’t care!!!!!!!!!! and a two week wait for the next available service tech to call. Did I say gas leak !!!!!!!! With the inability of electrolux/ westinghouse repair the appliance, I had to take Matters into my own hands and the gas cooktop was removed. I purchased another cooktop and had that installed again at extra cost. Suffice to say this cooktop has cost many thousands of dollars in plumbing work, replacement and time sat waiting off work. If you are considering a cooktop do not in a million years consider Westinghouse they are dangerous and offer poor or no aftercare even with a dangerous gas leak. I returned the the appliance to the retailer , Bargin home appliances in Braeside Vic and asked the rep to contact me to discuss . after 3 weeks no reply Shame on you guys !!!!!

The ring keeps turning off, the radiant heat is a very small area even on the drawn out circle the inner circle Is only adequate for the smallest pot. The heat ring turns off with any movement including stirring a pot or a pot boiling. It is impossible to clean. The stove is okay but the cook top is just for decoration

Series) and on paper they both are the exactly the same 560w x 490 d. I'd checked the gas was disconnected safely, called an electrician, made a day/time to fit this off. When the sparkie said 'I can't fit this as these two black screws stick out an extra 5mm, so I'll have to angle grind your bench to make it fit and it may break '. I knew I was in trouble. Shown the two black screws tried to call to find out what to do but didn't get through quickly enough so gave up (paying a tradie an hourly rate), allowed sparkie to do his thing he seemed certain. When I returned to Harvey Norman the sales lady I'd dealt with was most surprised to learn of the issue. She showed me how easily the display model sat into the same size cut-out, there was nothing that obstructed the insertion. The instruction booklet was little help, as the screws are not shown on there at all (why give a diagram that doesn't represent what you are actually installing in full I asked the man from Westinghouse customer service what those screws were in the position for and why didn't they show up anywhere on the booklet? He told me this is a booklet not just for that model but 6 models so they can't all be shown, he said the screws hold it together and the extra amount they stick out would have been calculated into the size of the cut-out...not helpful and not so at all (nor was his attitude) I have to say, he did not care to hear any of my issues. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told one would ring me back in the afternoon second day, I still haven't had that call back Lol. The appliance itself (having paid the extra money, suffered the inconvenience and cleaned the mess up) is performing well enough to make me happy for now. It's been working around 9 days now an I'm happier than I thought I would be as I had loved the gas but this is very fast to heat, looks good and now that I've got the hang of it there's little difference, luckily even my existing pots work with the induction but after this I'll never buy Westinghouse again (thought it was a mistake, I'd heard bad things about them before but now know for myself :).

out. I wasn`t happy about the touch controls versus manual rotary control, but that wasn`t an option. Big mistake by me and Westinghouse. Learning it`s operation happened slowy by mistakes but was eventually mastered. Then the problems began. For no apparent reason it would switch itself off! Then if using multiple zones removing a pot without touching any controls, again it was prone to shutting down. Now we have the latest problem in that when turned on it`s in lock mode. The instructions, when found, are far from clear on how to unlock it. Much button pressing with unmention time lag may eventionly unlock it. Not good in the haste of preparing a meal. Now, after in less of two years the markings over the controls have almost disappeared making it difficult to operate. I would guess that in six months they would have disappeared altogether. What tech smart, but uneducated in the real world, university graduate would be allowed to introduce such rubbish that causes such damage to the former good reputation of the Westinghouse name. any water even a drop of water or say gravy, it will turn off which is very annoying. Even if u use a damp sponge to clean up a spillage and wipe across the controls, it will turn off. We are very disappointed with this cook top and we have found that the cooktop doesn’t live up to our expectations as to what it should do. We will seek a refund.

changed from silver to bronze colour, anything spilt on the stove when cooking is very hard to remove and clean off, even when cleaned during or immediately after cooking. Many stains remain impossible to remove, It's only a few months old and appears very old looking and is heavily stained. The temperatures of each head are very unsatisfactory, difficult to get the right temperature, 3 heads of the same size with uneven temperatures when placed on the same level. I even bought a new pan to rule out the old pan being the issue and that didn't fix the problem. Initially I didn't think twice when given the option of the Westinghouse brand, never expexted to be let down like this.
