Had this unit for about 5 years now. No issues, nothing broken. Overall an excellent product. More than enough power for heavy grass even on Speed 1.… Read more
Pros 1. Solid build overall 2. Line eyelets are chunky and well contoured such that line breakage does not occur. 3. Feeding in new line is easy enough due to good design.
Cons The trigger pull is a bit heavy when new, but to be fair that speaks to the fact that it is a good quality switch.
I would buy this unit again. It just works.

I’m a great fan of AEG tools though this mower is a let down, can’t get through a 180m/2 lawn on a single charge it may be 2/ 9Amp/hr batteries may… Read more
do it. I was using a cheap Ryobi mower buying the AEG thinking it would be a better option but have been let down by its performance and lack of grunt, in saying that the body of the mower is solid and well built.

concluded that it's a better product than its competitors, and its reviews also backed this up. Having now used these secateurs extensively, I can only say it's a very good quality tool, does a great job, and the small 2AH battery lasts forever as they claim!
Overall, I do think the AEG Secateurs are a little overpriced, but like they say... "quality remains long after the price is forgotten".

of air. Opened it to find three of the four reed valves broken in the compressor head. I have no issue with that as it "should be a serviceable item " (my 30-year-old compressor needed new valves every 4-5 years). I called and emailed AEG; apparently, you can't get replacement valves, and I would need to replace both compressor assemblies. (motor, pistons head and all)

expensive to replace. I ended up going for proper after market hoses that will never crack again after the second set.
The harness ( which is why I bought it in the first place) is a poor design and has been sewn poorly. The webbing tears away from the rigid plastic at the top and had to be repaired.
The poor quality nuts and bolts that have been used to afix the sprayer together have simply rusted and were very difficult to remove while trying to effect repairs. Stainless would have been nice for an implement that is meant to use chemicals, some of which can be corrosive. Finally, I went to use it recently and the pump simply didn't work.
Definitely not worth $440 when my previous hand-powered backpack sprayer lasted 30 years before it.
This little tool is fantastic, don't listen to the bad reviews, it packs a lot of punch for ots size. Excellent value for money. Thank you AEG Show details

gorilla with a impact driver assembled it. One stud holding the guard on was sheared off and another had stripped thread. Broken bracket holding one of the light bulbs. Both wheels badly out of balance had to epoxy 21gms of weight to one and 14 to the other. Both wheels have excessive axial runout. One wheel has out of round arbor hole. Apart from that it is quiet and once I fix the balance issues it should be vibration free. Tip to myself buy better quality power tools ie spend more money.
A GAME-CHANGER FOR MY YARD WORK – As a 73-year-old who has been tirelessly pushing a small mower across half an acre for years, I found myself struggling with the physical demands of… Read more
my yard maintenance, especially on those uphill sections and especially on hot days. Emptying the catcher became a daunting task as well. It was high time for a change, and my search led me to the AEG 58V self-propelled battery-operated mower, a decision that has transformed my yard work experience. My initial exploration of petrol-driven mowers left me frustrated as they were cumbersome and even more challenging to manoeuvre than my trusty old push mower.
However, a special promotion at Bunnings introduced me to the AEG 58V self-propelled mower. I was immediately struck by its lightweight design and solid build quality. While it wasn't exactly cheap, the enticing redemption offer sweetened the deal even further - a bonus 15-litre battery operated backpack sprayer with an extra 58V 4.0Ah battery. This was particularly appealing as I had been wrestling with an old eight-litre pump pack for years, which had turned into quite the chore.
Upon bringing the AEG mower home and putting it to use, I was blown away by the quality of its construction. It's clear that AEG spared no expense on durability, as there were no flimsy plastic components that often plague lesser mowers. The generously sized catcher filled right to the brim, reducing the frequency of stops to empty it. Another pleasant surprise was the near-silent motor, a stark contrast to the noisy petrol mower I was accustomed to.
I couldn't wait to take it out for a spin. With both 58V 8.0 Ah batteries fully charged, the mower started effortlessly. It took me a few rounds to master the self-propelled motor, but once I did, I realized the convenience it offered. I could control the speed for my own comfort, making the uphill sections a breeze. The mower delivered a clean and even cut, but what truly astonished me was its efficiency. I could complete about three times as many runs as I did with my old mower before the catcher required emptying.
The machine performed so admirably that I took it out for another round of mowing the following morning. Not only did it make the task sweat-free, but it also turned yard work into an enjoyable exercise. I must admit; I regret not purchasing the AEG self-propelled mower sooner.
I eagerly anticipate trying out the bonus backpack sprayer unit, which should arrive in a few weeks. In sum, I wholeheartedly recommend AEG products to anyone seeking a simpler and more efficient way to maintain their lawn.
Thank you for delivering a top-notch product and providing a generous 6-year warranty. My yard work has never been this effortless and satisfying!

claim on the warranty. And it was the cheapest 700 watt model on offer at Bunnings.
It has enough power to cut through 50mm planks of wood (fairly slowly of course), and to do everything else I needed to do.
It has all the usual features, such as quick release for the blade, and angle cutting in both directions. The only improvement I can think of would be to have a wing nut to enable angle adjustment, rather than having to use a hex key to loosen the fixing bolt.
Highly recommended.

Found more uses for it than I thought I would! Folds up like it should. Mechanism is top quality. The 3 legs mean it's much easier to set up on uneven ground. Can't fault it.

from the motor and it stopped working. Took it back and exchanged for another exact same model and it did the same thing- stopped dead after 15 minutes. I had already been using a cheap old Ozito cord model and it works well but I wanted a cordless model. I went for the AEG because I already have 5 other AEG tools that use the same batteries. Contacted Ryobi, who make AEG tools and after 8 emails, they continue to NOT answer why this model doesn't work. Now, I have to find a different brand that works but will need to start using a different battery set up.
Appallingly NON service or answers from Ryobi/AEG and Bunnings couldn't help either. DON'T BUY AEG/RYOBI!

last the 6 year warranty period and AEG was unable to repair them. It also appeared there were no replacements available. All the batteries were on recall too. I think Bunnings and/or Milwaukee may have given up on AEG - at least this family.
Kudos to Bunnings for resolving the situation. The contact there negotiated a swap out of all my AEG tools and batteries for Ryobi equivalents. It turns out AEG is owned by Milwaukee as is Ryobi. The Ryobis have 6 year warranties and initial impressions are they work just as well as AEG, so I'm happy.
Footnote: I won't buy tools without a swap out warranty again - too much stuffing around.

I live on a rural acreage and tools like this get heavily used. I burned through 2 Honda UMK435s and 2 Perla Barbs in 5 years. The AEG has outlasted all of those.
It does a really good job at what it's meant to do and is easy to use. It's lighter than petrol equivalents, which makes stomping around in gullies and on slopes a lot easier and it's just as effective. I carry spare batteries in a bumbag when I go out and the charge will outlast me.
Since getting this I've also bought the AEG 58V chainsaw and most recently the 58V Brushcutter. They all work well. Petrol chainsaws drive me nuts - start you b--stard!
The weak point was the batteries. I started with 3 batteries and in 2 and a half years each battery has been replaced twice. Fortunately Bunnings and AEG made exchange easier after a bumpy start when the batteries had to be sent back to AEG. Eventually AEG recognised there was a design fault in the original batteries and Bunnings now swap them on the spot. The new generation batteries are working well so far.
The thing to realise is that all batteries have a finite life, so you're not getting free power forever.
Overall I prefer all the AEG 58V tools to their petrol equivalents.
Update May 2023 (tool a bit over 3 years old and it has a 6 year warranty.): It started cutting out mid-use a few months back. I persevered for a while, but eventually it became too annoying, so I took it back to Bunnings who agreed it was not working properly and sent it off to AEG for repair.
Bunnings said it's a trade machine so it doesn't have a replacement warranty like say Ozito gear and could take 8-12 weeks to be processed by AEG.
If I was a trade user that would annoy me, as you'd need 2 machines on hand. Fortunately I also have the AEG 58V brushcutter, bullhorn version (which is a great machine for hacking at undergrowth such as lantana), so that will do in the meantime.

the chainsaw again, only to find out that the entire reservoir of my speciality Penrite chain lube had leaked out covering the bottom of the chainsaw and carton (which I had stored horizontally on a shelf). On returning to Bunnings, I was told that I had to leave the saw for return to AEG for repair, which could take up to 12 weeks depending on parts, etc. This in not customer service at all, however apparently is AEG policy! I thought that I had upgraded by changing my Ryobi tools to AEG, but sadly I was mistaken, as Bunnings had always swapped out faulty tool purchases on the spot previously (including a power washer which failed one day before the warranty was due to expire). When I googled "AEG 18V chainsaw leaking oil", it appears that this is not an isolated incident, with other AEG 18V chainsaws reported in reviews as having the same fault, including reviews on this platform! While I now have six AEG 18V tools, and it would be convenient for me to switch to AEG for future tool purchases (as had been my plan), I will never again buy AEG now that I have experienced their total and complete inadequacy in relation to any genuine customer service. The repair centre for AEG/Bunnings (Centenary Powertools) were great when I contacted them to find out if they could give me information relating to the fault (neither Bunnings nor AEG would provide any information at all, let alone sensible answers to basic questions). Centenary informed me that they sent a replacement as the one I had used for only a couple of minutes was beyond repair - The motor, drive and just about anything else inside the case was NOT REPAIRABLE - so 2 minutes work rendered this AEG product a total catastrophic, irreparable failure!!!!
