Writing this review out of frustration as its Monday 29/12/25 and I get a promo on Facebook about Haymes 15% discount boxing offer. I called the Port… Read more

Melb depo to confirm if pickup ok there. I advised them the online offer and I get told their manager not available today and unsure if the online order will reach them today as they had another customer unable to pickup. So I asked if I can pay atvthe counter and was told they cant help me as they have no authority to process. So much for supporting an Australian product due to inefficiencies of systems and processes as a result of untrained staff. Get your act together management .. business went elsewhere

The best waterbased enamel on the market. The best brand on the market full stop. Taubmans 2nd. An absolute pleasure to use. If you cannot manage a… Read more

great result with this paint then it's something you're doing wrong, believe it. This paint is very forgiving and rewarding to novices like me if you take the time to prep/sand/clean the undercoat surface properly. My only regret was not using a sprayer because if it came up this good with a roller and brush then I can only imagine a spray finish. The result was excellent given my lack of skill. Excellent flow and levelling. It doesn't dry too quickly. Unbelievable coverage, barely used any paint. 2nd coat covered the grey undercoat, colour achieved without a 3rd coat.

The staff at Sunshine store - David - is a legend. Looked after me no problems.

Btw productreview - Haymes Ultratrim Acrylic Enamel in High Gloss has not been discontinued.

Brilliant! – I'm a trade qualified serious DIY'er and used this for a gate and privacy screens which are fulltime in the sun. All were merbau hard wood with a… Read more

previous coat of Cabots Timbercolour. Cleaned, sanded, wiped down then applied two coats of Solashield low sheen in Colorbond Ironstone.

Runs off the roller and brush so easily, settles really well, finishes beautifully, and the depth of colour with low sheen offers a super crisp and high quality finish. Dry time was as stated on the 10L bucket, I recoated after 2hrs as per instructions.

I can also get nearly double the painting time before I have to refresh the roller or brush compared to more viscous products like Duraguard. Resene Lumbersider (although more $$) is the only contender I'd put in the same ball park for ease of application, finish, colour depth etc.

Goodbye (in the order of quality) Resene Lumbersider, Solver Duraguard, Wattle Solagard, Taubmans Sunproof, Dulux Weathershield, and Cabots Timbercolour.

Haymes Solashield is the real deal and I'm actually embarrassed I didn't try this brand earlier than I have.

Creamy, easy to use, good quality and value – After a disastrous experience with another brand, streaky, impossible to achieve coverage I gave up and purchased a 15 litre Haymes Paint Ultra… Read more

Premium Expressions Interior Ceiling White. The difference was apparent from the first roll. Creamy, thick, great coverage and night and day to work with compared to the inferior, yet substantially more expensive failure. I still needed 3 coats to get the perfect finish and cover the streaky garbage underneath, but what a pleasure to use. I took approx. 1/2 the time to apply with no frustrations, and a whole lot less effort. Definitely recommend this quality product - purchased at the Haymes Ballarat store with equally good service to match.

Beautiful Oil – After using water base oils our deck lost its natural beauty and was just one solid brown colour. We decided after doing a small deck extension that… Read more

we would strip the whole deck right back and start again..... wow what a costly and timely job, NEVER AGAIN!! We used both Cutek deck stripper and intergrain deck stripper. We found the intergrain to be alot more effective. After a week of stripping and a week of sanding it was time to deck wash and oil.

After hours of reading reviews I was sold on Feast Watson decking oil. When I started using this product the application was horrible. The colour was very yellow, it was also very runny. I then decided to go into Haymes paint shop and he gave me some sample's to try. I was sold on the Haymes decking oil in natural.

Haymes has been so easy to use, not streaky at all and i am happy with the colour. After a couple hours it feels dry to touch and as per instructions 6 hours to re coat. Below is our deck before stripping, during and after.

I’ve been painting everything in a non professional roll for about 40 years now. Houses, cars, large buildings and small. Pools and decks, motors and… Read more

just about anything else that can be painted.. one thing I have learnt over the years is that solvent based paints are so much more of a pain to paint with, especially the clean up process.. Couple of days ago I bought some of Haymes paveshield paint and solvent “xylene based” and I’ve never used a paint that was so difficult to apply.. I followed the ambient temperature advice so it was the perfect day to begin, the first coat was no problem but a few hours later it is a nightmare to apply. Impossible to lay off even though it appears pretty well cured, it starts dissolving instantly on contact with another coat. The roller starts streaming off what looks like spider webs and sticks all over making it impossible to lay off and finish, battling with frustration and finishing off that coat. I thought it best to let it cure for a good 48 hours, still no joy as it did exactly the same again. I will now leave it for a few weeks as it’s in need of a fourth coat because it looks awful and patchy.. Anyway I wouldn’t recommend this paint unless your professional, I thought I knew paints pretty well but obviously I was wrong.. cheers
