feels heavier to push, cuts grass well ( haven't tried mulcher attachment yet), doesn't get close enough to solid objects and I managed to knock height adjust lever while manoeuvring around gardening edging. Easy to start, throttle control not as smooth as it could be. Catcher is same dimensions as previous mower.

Good mower – I got one of these, Rapid Start one, a few months ago. I did have issues with it supposedly starting fast. No prime, just put it in run position and… Read more
pull. Was told it would start easy first to second pull every time. It didn't. Took 5 to 10 pulls and even then it took a minute or so to run ok. So I checked the spark plug. The gap was wrong. It had been fitted with the gap at .30, is supposed to be .20 I set it to .20 and bingo, first pull it fired up. If you get one and like mine its not easy to start, check the spark plug gap and set it to .20 It now starts easy and runs great. The easy clean feature where you connect a hose to the chassis then run it is lame. It does not clean it properly at all. It only cleans about half of it. I dont bother using it now. I just tip it up and use a stick to scrape the collected grass underneath away. Using the hose thing is just messy and a bad idea. Whomever thought it was never thought it out properly. Sounds good but doesn't work. Otherwise, its really good fuel wise using heaps less than my old Lawnkeeper. Much more power too in long grass. Just check the Plug gap if it has starting issues.

fantastic. Starts every time on one pull and a tank gives me quite a few hours of mowing. I had issues with the catcher but there are work arounds so that was not an issue for me.

Great classic lawn mower, very powerful with the 160cc two stroke engine. Being the VEX60 engine it has the most powerful Victa two stroke engine… Read more
before they were discontinued. This is definitely noticable as it feels like it’s got more grunt than my 4 stroke 190cc Mustang and doesn’t bog down unless the grass gets really thick/wet. It is a little bit louder than the 4 stroke though.
As with all Victa two strokes, the kill switch on the carby is a bit finicky and I have had trouble with it twice not turning off but you can get new rubber boots for them or bypass the switch altogether. As these are long discontinued and you’ll be buying second hand, I do recommend doing some research on maintenance. Very easy and parts are still plentiful at the time of writing
The full alloy deck is ideal as there is no corrosion and also very light and easy to manoeuvre. 19” edge to edge deck I love as it leaves very little to sometimes zero edge to whipper snip. The plastic skirts also prevent the base scratching your garden edging though the plastic does wear out if you’re constantly running against it. The height of cut can go very low pretty much until it hits dirt and the 4 blade system cuts very well
The catcher has two adjustable vents at the back which help it fill up all the way, though it is still little small for my liking.
All in all it is a great mower with plenty of grunt, ideal for medium sized lawns. I have a 700m2 block with a fair amount of lawn and feel this mower is perfect

person at Bunnings who assisted!
Once we’d put oil and petrol into the mower, adjusted it so it could be used to mulch rather than catch the grass, it was good to go.
Given the size of our block, we mulch rather than collect the clippings. Adjusted to the height we wanted and the mower started immediately. Doesn’t like too big a slope, but it’s easy to push around as long as your wheels aren’t too close to a fence or driveway.

Quality just not there anymore – First and last time I buy a Victa. Lasted 5 years and wasn't a cheap mower. I replaced the oil every 12 months with new Briggs and Stratton SAE 30… Read more
and a new spark plug RC12YC. Wheel bearings lasted 3 years before all needing replacement and just out of warranty at 5 1/2 years the piston rings failed and oil came out through the muffler and oil cap it had so much blow-by. Very disappointed on those newer 625 EXI and 725 EXI engine's they are absolutely terrible quality and engineering, the engine shook and rattled from day 1 and had a very loose crank shaft bearing clearance issue. I bought a cheap $200 Chinese Sprinter mower also made by Victa unfortunately from Bunnings today to replace it and it cuts through thicker grass much easier than this paperweight ever did. Never again will I trust a Victa, they are not made in Australia any longer and it shows in real world use.
