Appalling company

1Cover misrepresents the unlimited cover for cancellations in unforeseen circumstances in their advertising. An airline cancelling a flight for mechanical reasons is NOT covered by 1Cover. That is Bait Advertising.

Please be aware you can choose to have your claim escalated and reviewed. Please don't hesitate to call 1300 859 487 should you wish to speak to a claims consultant. Kind regards, Sophie, Customer ServiceAs stated, the first 2 pages of your advertising clearly don't mention the huge number of ways your company does not cover cancellations. Trust factor zero. Pub test fail. Fair Trading and APRA can adjudicate and hopefully stop your bait advertising.

Straightforward great coverage

I used 1cover for domestic insurance, as it covers my whole holiday and rental car excess. It is cost effective and provides great coverage on all the things you might not even consider when travelling within Australia.
I have used 1cover for both domestic and international and cannot fault them (although I haven’t made a claim).
1cover also keep in contact with you the whole time, which I love. Especially if your extending your stay.

Good peace of mind for car hire and mobile phone insurance while travelling

I think cover is always really good value, I’ve never actually had to claim on my travel insurance but I do feel more relaxed having it. Actually makes my holiday experience far more relaxing as at worst I’m going to pay $200 for the excess if things go really wrong. Ie accidentally crash car or loose mobile device.

The Only Travel Insurance I Will Buy

I keep buying this travel insurance because I know if I need to make a claim I have no doubt that I will be paid out. THAT IS PIECE OF MIND. That is why I have used this company more than 10 times. I have made 2 claims and been paid out fast on both of them. Love this product.

Terrible service! Trying to make excuses to delay the payout

I am claiming for some lost items but they are making excuses and not willing to contact the Australian Federal Police to obtain the report relating to my claim.
I tried to obtain the report myself but Police say the insurance company has to do it on my behalf.
I asked to speak to a manger at 1 cover but non was in the office and no call back ever took place.

Got a settlement letter after a month of waiting promising payment in week, but it was 2 weeks ago.

Never use this insurer again!

Really easy to order and great value!

I've not needed to make any claim thankfully seems to be a reasonable process. I have switched over to 1cover and will be purchasing the annual travel insurance policy later this year (covers 12 months travel).

Shocking

The policy was easy to set up but when trying to make a claim different story. Ringing from a ship is not easy as you have to go through operator on board the ship before you get transferred, and then when i do get transferred saying no they can't find me in the system that I am not insured with them. So now I start to panic and think maybe I went with someone else. While Still on the ship I try another insurance mob and they so no I am not with them. For some reason i couldn't find any emails from the insurer who I had gone with. So then I go and check my bank account and see who I've paid for travel insurance and sure enough it's the group 1cover who I first rang where my cover is. We were only on the cruise for 3 days in Sydney so I waited till we were back in Sydney to let them know that I am insured with them only to be told that I am not covered. By this time I get a copy of my cover and ring a different department to find out I am covered for the cruise that the consultants that I spoke to weren't aware that I was covered. Then told my access is $100.00 so all I'll be getting back is $80.00 makes you wonder why take insurance in the first place. Not happy jan.

Quick and Easy

Straight forward and easy. I would recommend them for your travel insurance even though, the policy was one of the more expensive compared to other providers. It covered everything I needed covered.

Hi Sammy, We like to think we're different from other insurance companies, we offer everyday value prices on our policies whilst still maintaining a high quality product. So whilst our competitors have trimmed costs – we have done the opposite – hiring Doctors and nurses as to be on our 24/7 emergency assistance team, doubling our call centre staff, having local call centers in Sydney, Brisbane and Auckland rather than the outsourcing to the Philippines. We have some claims that are paid out within 48 hours of receiving the documentation. There are countless decisions like this where we focus on putting the customer first, which no doubt is far costlier, but it is a far better service. I purchase this for domestic travel, I went to Sydney for Christmas Holiday and my luggage got damage due to stairs accident, and I made a claim for luggage repair and its easy and fast, Their price are affordable too.

Easy online set up

Policy was easy to set up, but medical cover inclusion on domestic cruise was unclear in the PDS. I ended up phoning 1Cover twice to clarify the extent of cover. I was assured That purchasing the Cruise Pack covered me but I could not find any reference to that in the PDS. I was told page and paragraph where confirmation could be found but I still found the wording somewhat vague and not reassuring. This made me a little nervous throughout my trip. A clearer separate paragraph for Domestic Cruises would be a helpful addition.

Look at the fine print

This policy did not live up to expectations. My flights to Cairns were cancelled by Tiger at the night before travel for 'operational reasons'. We already had hotels booked for the family. I had a nasty shock when I read the fine print which excluded cancellation of flights by airline. This meant I was out of pocket by $1300 for the alternative flights I was forced to buy to save our trip.

My plane was delayed due to air traffic control hold up, this cancelled my hire car pick up, this insurance would not cover the extra costs incurred due to the delay because it was not part of what they cover.

Peace of Mind

We needed insurance to cover the excess on our car rental and 1Cover was the best valued cover with the best reviews. 1Covers communication was excellent and online application simple, giving me the peace of mind needed. We can honestly acclaim that 1Cover truly has you covered when travelling on holiday, we have been using this company for years now & know from personal experience that should the unexpected occur, that not only do 1Cover come through for you, they also do so with both speed & efficiency.

Luckily we have only had to make one claim over the years, when my wife became extremely ill with pneumonia on a cruise we took earlier this year. But the claim was processed without any problems.

The support service staff was both professional & friendly and we would recommend them to anyone (which we frequently do - to family, friends & colleagues
