Claim made with all required documents, still has not reached an outcome after two months of back and forth. Will edit if the outcome is positive ✨️ Edit : claim approved, 1000 nzd car rental excess damage, 200 excess and 100 dollar not accepted so got 700 nzd back. I have used 1Cover several times but this was the first time I needed to make a claim. Submitting the claim online was easy. One query was made about something I had missed, and then I received notification of approval 13 days after submitting the claim. I am very happy with the service I received. Show details ·  1

 Follow-up  · I didn't need medical support. I was going on a hiking holiday and fell over and needed surgery before I was due to go. It was a long recovery period so I had to cancel the trip. We had an international flight delayed due to a technical issue with the plane which led to missing a connection flight. On claiming additional expenses 1Cover refused the claim because the delay was caused by the mechanical breakdown of our means of transport. How ridiculous, isn't that we insure against!! I suggest travellers use another company. Show details

common for flights to be moved or rescheduled, hence it is recommended to purchase travel insurance to cover any costs in this scenario.

We decided to purchase 1Cover, who actively promote this as a feature of their coverage.

The day before leaving our flight was cancelled and rebooked a few days later due to strong winds, and we lost out on a few days of accommodation and an experience that we already had booked.

After returning from the trip and submitting the claim, 1Cover decided not to cover, because....

We Will Not Pay g): "Cancellation, delays or rescheduling by a bus line, airline, shipping line or rail authority"

This is not how the cover is promoted and it's a completely worthless policy for simple domestic travel, don't bother and go elsewhere. No way to speak to them on the phone and very slow to respond.

This resulted in sooo much stress for me & most likely great frustration for person/s trying to contact me personally, as I had asked many times . . So i apologise for all the confusion Voice Mail has caused each person involved.. I ever so much appreciate Lorraine's time & patience in resolving the issue, which in end, turned out to be simple one to resolve, resulting in best outcome.. thank you again Lorraine & have a wonderful day.. .. I think I have used 1Cover twice before in last 10yrs & hadn't had any difficulties with getting cover or anything else.. until the mix up about asking for extended days to original asked for time period.. Shocking – The policy was easy to set up but when trying to make a claim different story. Ringing from a ship is not easy as you have to go through operator on board the ship before you get transferred, and then when i do get transferred saying no they can't find me in the system that I am not insured with them. with someone else. While Still on the ship I try another insurance mob and they so no I am not with them. For some reason i couldn't find any emails from the insurer who I had gone with. So then I go and check my bank account and see who I've paid for travel insurance and sure enough it's the group 1cover who I first rang where my cover is. We were only on the cruise for 3 days in Sydney so I waited till we were back in Sydney to let them know that I am insured with them only to be told that I am not covered. By this time I get a copy of my cover and ring a different department to find out I am covered for the cruise that the consultants that I spoke to weren't aware that I was covered. Then told my access is $100.00 so all I'll be getting back is $80.00 makes you wonder why take insurance in the first place. Not happy jan.

"damaged beyond repair" and that the nature of the damage was not covered under warranty. Needless to say, the stress levels skyrocketed because I had recently purchased the phone outright.

The 1Cover claims officer was wonderful and very helpful,explaining what I needed to do. Even though claims are usually resolved within 10 business days of being lodged, my claim was accepted and the money deposited into my bank account on the 6th day.

I always take out travel insurance for my family when we go on holidays,but this is the FIRST time we've ever needed to make a claim.

Thank you 1Cover for helping make the best out of a bad situation!!

With competitive pricing, excellent customer service and now the knowledge that they ARE reliable when needed, no need to look elsewhere for travel insurance.

Based on this experience, our travel insurance is all sorted for quite a few holidays to come!!!!

Very happy with 1Cover – My husband and I are about to travel to Japan, so we aren't overseas yet, but we have found the process of finding appropriate travel insurance very easy and streamlined with 1Cover. I needed to contact 1Cover when I realised I had inadvertently made a mistake on the policy - they were extremely helpful, very understanding and very swift in rectifying the problem for us. Beware!! Stay Away From 1Cover!!!! – Beware!!!! Never EVER take out a policy with this company!! ship 72 pax and 25 crew (62 ft long) out of cairns on 4th November but they wont evacuate if the boat is small. I cant even find out if this ship qualifies. Unbelievable. Please answer me.

Unhappy with the service – My travel dates have changed from 20/05/20 - 25/05/20 due to Coronavirus and I have tried to amend the dates on the website, but it will not let me. I rang, but there is no way to communicate with anyone unless it is an emergency. I sent an email via their website on 07/05/20 and the automated reply is they will get back soon. Nil reply. Great company to deal with! – I have used 1Cover travel insurance 5-6 times. I believe the policies are very good value, easy to arrange and very clear. I lodged one claim with 1Cover some years ago: it was settled quickly, with no fuss, and I was very happy with the outcome. Terrible "Depreciation policy" - to the discretion of the claims officer, beware! – took out a domestic insurance policy for a liveaboard fishing charter, my gear fell overboard whilst boat was in transit. Claim went through without any problems, then I get a summary of the payout. $600 value of lost gear $288 depreciation value (4yrs old) $200 Excess Final Settlement = $112 Requested a call back from 1cover to please explain how the claims officer concluded to depreciation value was calculated still awaiting for a reply. Show details ·  3
