Happy customer but unhappy reviewer! – I took my red/black and white Colnago bike into 99 Bikes Indooroopilly 4068 QLD on Sat 7/7/24 and a number of staff helped me. Maybe the main person was Kadel (not sure of his name)? He fitted new tyres and tubes to my bike and then did a few things like lubricating my gear levers, giving the bike a quick clean and other little jobs. They did not… Read more ·  1

take a long time but made a big difference to the bike which I had not ridden for probably 5 or 6 years. I am lending it to a friend from Colombia who doesn't speak much English and would not have been able to ask for these jobs to be done. I was not charged for these jobs - only for fitting the tyres and tubes. I was very impressed and hope you are able to track down the staff member who did this for me. I don't know how to attach my emailed receipt in the "Attach private proof of purchase" but my purchase was on Saturday 7th July and the invoice was for $140 for 2 tyres and tubes. - very happy! [not sure if I have done the review correctly - it's a bit hard to follow for an oldie like me!] Hours later I received an email about submitting my review. Before I retired from work I was the head of IT in a number of very large organisations. I have to say that the review process you have is the worst piece of software I have seen for a very long time! Not anything like the excellent customer service I received at your Indooroopilly store! I suggest you have the review process completely redone.

Excellent service – My partner and I both bought e-bikes at the Indooroopilly store on Boxing Day. We were assisted by Harrison. He provided excellent and knowledgeable service to us both, and then excelled by delivering both bikes to the Sunshine Coast where they were to be used. he has told us he is relatively new to the 99 Bikes team. Great service - perfect, in fact! – I called in to 99 Bikes Indooroopilly shop at 3.35 pm on a Sunday afternoon, and rode out on my new Pedal Comet e-bike at 4:15 pm - amazing for a 75 year old who just called in for a look, and who hadn't ridden a bike since 1964!!! Can't use online vouchers at retail – I had on online voucher for 99 Bikes and dropped in to my local store to get some stuff. After finding everything, I went to the counter to pay and was told that I couldn't use the online voucher at the physical store. So I went home and ordered the goods with the option to pick up at the physical store.... Everyone at the store was good (and apologetic) what a waste of time.

Fixed in a jiffy! – Dropped bike off for some lengthy repairs. Quick turnover and when I came to pick up the bike, had a helpful bike mechanic help out with some additional work on the spot. Tires popping out of rim – Saw Thomas today because of a problem of tires popping out of rims. He told me the root cause of the problem which is a defect. He also took back a new unused tire, which was part of a batch of tires I had purchased several years ago at his shop. He then replaced it with another tire free of the defect. Terrible customer experience and no refund – Here's a timeline of the absolutely abysmal customer experience I had with 99 bikes Indooroopilly. Note: The bike has not been crashed, had the derailleur bent by me, or mishandled during transport to and from the shop (On a bike rack, with the derailluer on the outside) September 2020 - Ordered a Merida Big 9 200 and was told it would be ready… Read more

by the end of the month (This was a large part of why I went with 99 bikes, as the bike was going to be in stock, when other bike shops freely admitted it would be months before new stock arrived.

Nov 29 2020- With the only communication and updates received were from me calling the store, the bike finally arrives. The guy behind the counter is only interested in my money, doesn't want to answer any of my questions about setting it up for the best ride, tyre pressure etc and just wants me out the door. I wanted to buy a new helmet and some other components, but he made such a poor impression, with his complete lack of interest, that I decided to get most of my stuff online. I left the store feeling pretty damned unvalued, as a customer.

Dec 11 2020 - On the third ride on this bike, doing commute from work (~25 mins) as I approached my house and climbed a hill, the rear derailleur snapped and went into the spokes. - Took the bike in to get it replaced, was told it would be ready within a week.

Feb 10 2021 - After 3 months in the workshop, again with no communication, apart from my phone calls requesting an update, they put an interim derailluer on the bike. When I picked it up, was told that it's not the exact derailluer and there is some grinding that's occuring, but it's fine to ride and it doesn't matter if it gets ruined, because it will be replaced anyway.

Feb 10-18 2021 - The grinding gets really bad, but I was told to just keep riding it and I needed it to get to and from work.

Feb 18 2021 - Again, riding my bike home from work, the derailluer snaps, locks up my back wheel and nearly gets me hit by a car, as I was crossing an intersection. Called the store and advised that at this point, I want a refund.

Feb 20 2021 - Took the bike into the store and was told that because it's a shimano part, they won't do a refund. All they can do is fix it, or offer a trade in value (80% of what I paid). They kept accusing me of bending it, as "That's the only way it could have happened". More like a very poorly tuned derailluer, done by shoddy workmanship. The store manager was incredibly condescending, inflaming the situation. I was very upset. I took them through the timeframe and emphasised just how upset I was, as by this time, I was supposed to have had the bike for 6 months, yet I've only had it for a combined total of about 3 weeks and been able to ride it 7 times. They didn't care and were incredibly condescending, again telling me they won't give me a refund.

Note: This bike has not been crashed or mishandled during transport.

Needless to say, I will never shop there again and will warn anyone and everyone I can to stay clear of them

sure the bike was good to ride. Only thing I didn't get was a bike basket as the one they had didn't fit the make of my new bike. I'm glad I went to 99 bikes Indooroopilly and would consider going the extra distance for another good experience.
