years, and so yesterday I dropped into the store to seek some guidance. I was served by Tonn, the same team member who previously had been of great help. He took time to understand and assess my needs and requirements, and after around 10 minutes of enormously diligent research presented me with three options, and then carefully guided me through each. Simply outstanding knowledge, attention to detail and the best service I can recall in years! I was able to see the preferred option, assess it, and paid for it on the spot. I will collect my new purchase in a few days (the store was very busy, and I'm in no rush) after it has been fully charged and prepared. Well done Tonn, and 99 Bikes!
Terrible experience. Not just one thing, but everything – Bought the bike just after covid lock downs ~ $700 - very hard to get served/slow service - but they were busy I told myself. Bike wasnt ready when they said it would be. Several phone calls required to find out when to pick it up. Each call between 20 and 40 minutes - multiple calls dropped while on hold. pickup. A known problem apparently. hydraulic brakes failed within 6 months. Would not fix as part of the 'free service' or under warranty. Paid ($80) to have it fixed. Waited 30 mins to drop bike off for service (despite booking). Waited 30 mins to get served on pick up. Waited 20 mins while they messed around and chatted. Bottle holder was not fixed. Paid and took the bike anyway. Got home - brakes still faulty. Today I paid $220 to get brakes replaced with new at Cycles galleria / Trek so that I never have to deal with these people again. btw - another customer was swearing at the service desk staff as I left - having a similar experience to me I expect. I've had reasonably good experiences buying odds and ends off the website - but buying a bike from and dealing with the physical (Hoppers Crossing) store staff was a nightmare. Life is too short - go somewhere else.
..just a follow-up - today - a few days after I posted this here, someone from 99 bikes phoned me, offered me a store credit (I didnt ask how much) and accused me of slandering them. A poor choice of words - or perhaps an insight to the mindset that allows this level of service to persist.
Best prices and helpful service – I've had a couple of bike services and purchases in this store from 2016 and has been fairly satisfied. This was back in the day when club membership was just $5. shops have been quite low on floor stock but not here. I've purchased a Merida Speeder 100, Tacx Flow and Yakima King Joe Pro 2 bike carrier and found the pricing very competitive. Tristano was very patient and friendly in assisting me with my queries. Have spoken with a couple more from the sales guys and all of them have been helpful. They also swiftly respond to email queries. I recommend you conduct your own research online, do product comparisons, streamline your priorities and once you've got your short list visit the shop for them to help you answer your queries.

No snobbery, non judgmental and very knowledgeable – Told the sales assistant that I won't buy a buy right now, just select one. Was very pleasantly surprised that they spent time asking me questions to determine what I needed. No snobbery (which is common in the other bike stores), no pushing higher specs, no showing off, just honest and kind. I figured out just what I need and will be going in to buy it shortly. Highly recommend !

30 days return policy – Always a pleasure to come to your store. Service was always great but today visit made it even special. A gold star service from Tia the Area Manager. She was so friendly and helpful. She even showed me how to take off the front wheel and educate me of how to look after a bike. Completely Ignored – Was in the market for a new bike so, came here, and was not particularly busy. Staff completely ignored us not even an acknowledgement that we were there.
