Poor service with little experience – Took my e-bike in here to get a service and have the gears sorted , not only did they fail to do anything to the bike they completely they completely stripped the bolt on the main hanger and gear mechanism that needed replacing and stated the only way to get it out was to drill it out which they wouldn't do due to potentially damaging the thread… Read more

in the bike frame , it did have rust which is common but professional experienced bike technicians should have the skills to work out the solution rather than say it's unfixable and hand the bike back untouched . It appears they've used zero lubricant and just Used a plain Alan hex key and turned it rather than work out prior that it would most likely need a different tool such as a star torx key . The guy dealing with me seemed clueless and incompetent and I felt he had a very dismissive poor attitude . He stated he wasn't the one working on the bike but he clearly played a part. I've since had the bolt removed and the parts replaced by another bike shop close by with little fuss. When I questioned the younger guy about what methods they used he stated he didn't know. It was obvious there was no lubricant applied in the first place and people who fix bikes as a job should have the correct knowledge on how to attempt the job in the first place .

contacted Peter who had now moved to the Osborne Park store. I purchased a bike during the pandemic with all the issues with supply from manufactures etc. Peter was prompt and honest with the updates and continued to advise me as to whether another bike would more suitable. He organized for repairs to be done on my old bike at a discounted rate to help with out with transport till the new bike arrived. I then had some bespoke changes done to the bike without any issues. In all whilst having to wait a while for the arrival of the bike it was exactly what I was after and the whole experience was faultless thanks to Peter. Would high recommend 99 Bikes and Peter to anyone.

bikes and let me take them for a decent run. I chose the Merida Scultura 4000 after reading reviews and posts from other cyclists. Being a club member assured me of a decent discount and I rode away happy. After tackeling a longer ride with some decent hills the next day, I found that the geometery of the bike was not fashioned to my particular needs. Remembering what Mitch had told me about exchanging within 30 days if not 100% happy i decided to put it to the test. I arrived at the shop two days after buying the 4000 and Mitch took me through a range of options. Eventually I departed the store with the Scultura 4000 Disc less than three hours ago and have clocked up 50K's already. A massive thank you to Mitch but I also noticed that the rest of the staff at the Belmont store where just as vigilant. In this day and age it's great to see such professionalism.

New bike broke after 1,2 days of riding. But good customer service – Matt was quick in his job, even though the new bike broke after 1,2 days of purchase (a problem with the bolt of the front derailleur got loose). Very poor service – Very disappointed. Took our daughter’s for service before a big race as chain was loose. Asked them to fix it all up and make it good. Was happy to pay for whatever was need. They said they would replace chain which they did. During the race chain came off 3 times and obviously race lost. Really dodgy company. Not Their Problem – Visited store and told staff I would like the Merida21 Speeder 10 V MD/LG and next size up from the recommended medium height size. 11/1/23 and then invited to bring bike back after 6 weeks. Mentioned the gears slip between 2/3,4,5 and then I was accused without questioning of using the wrong lubricant. I advised the staff the gears slipped when I first rode it and before I added lubricant. Also checked for recommended compounds/ingredients for best outcomes. Left bike and then received a call to say the wheel was warped. Accused of riding the bike to much. So 3 times x 5 weeks at 45kms a week was deemed to be over riding a bike. I feel this doesn't say much for the quality of the wheels. Then accused that it may have been my size, so being fat shamed by a business is good for business. I was told not to expect the wheels to be straightened again, but I asked what was the warranty (1 year) so we can cross this bridge when it eventuates. I mentioned the person at the counter looked at me before suggesting this bike. All I could think is that they sold me a youths and didn't tell me as I feel very cramped on the bike and as a M\L. it is way smaller than the Specialise. Anyway, now I feel the bike was sold so I am no longer important to the staff at 99 Bikes. All they did was try and blame me for the product and while I didn't expect a $1000 dollar bike, I did expect it to be up to 3 rides a week at 15 kms each time. My previous low cost Specialize is years old and still going strong. Advised that I will pass on my story of their business practises and bike quality as reviews on the net and if the manager would like to engage in some way to discuss the situation I would be happy with just an apology. Its been a over 8 week with no follow up so thought others should be aware of the limited after sales service. The bike rides well but not sure if something is happening with the wheels.

though I asked for shimano series b pads as per the manual, he told me to go and get the old ones to bring in..he was difficult with the gear cable and downright rude and ignorant. I left the store empty handed and subsequently had excellent service at Bike Time just down the road and purchased all I needed. I certainly be never be going back to 99 bikes again. Especially when Trek and other local stores offer much better service and support.

Workshop were nothing short of exceptional. Great customer service. Walked in off the street to ask about my bike not changing gears, the technician said without hesitation, "let me have a look now, if i can help will do it straight away, if not we can do it after new year". 5 Min later he had sorted my problem. Dishonest – I brought my son a new bike through click and collect and it was only after I’d paid my money that 99bikes in Joondalup decided to email me telling me my bike won’t be ready for collection for 5 days because they are “busy”. Friendly, honest and a pleasure to deal with – Went in for browse on Ebikes, had no idea where to start. Chris was very helpful with all his knowledge and expertise.
