Trying to cancel my insurance, am forced to use a chatbot on the website which doesn't work, there's no email address listed to contact them, you have to download an app to message them - I absolutely will not do that. Then I find a way to email them by googling it, telling them to cancel my two policies. Someone replies demanding my ID details… Read more

and the policy numbers. First of all, contacting via email has always been considered adequate for instructing changes to insurance policies and should never require ID info. Secondly, I don't know my policy number and I don't want to have to look them up. It's too confusing as I have two policies. They are intentionally making it difficult to escape my policies. Then I try to call them, am forced to engage with a robo voice and then an AI bot which can't understand me even though I'm speaking extremely clearly. Followed by being put on hold. I followed the prompts to car insurance and yet the person answering says he has to transfer me to a different department, so I'm put on hold again. Disgraceful. I will never go with Aami again.

Don’t go with aami – I’ve spent all day on the phone with this company for nothing. First phone call the guy lodged the claim- I was involved in a car accident and the car behind hit mine and I did hit anyone. I had two cars in front and the first stopped suddenly, the second hit the back of the first I was the third car and I managed to stop in time, but the car… Read more

behind hit me. 0 excess to pay as it’s not my fault. Car given to replace mine while it get fixed, was a small car- I have a van. I realised later that with a small car I couldn’t fit all my things for work, so I called back to get a similar car/van. The lady took 45 minutes and I asked to stay on the same terms we had before-0 excess to pay. She finally found a van - for next week but I have to pay for the excess. Useless service, pay insurance for nothing. Don’t go with aami.

Terrible support service – I had comprehensive car insurance and had battery replaced two years ago later I realised that I don’t need comprehensive car insurance, so I change it to third-party now after two years. Wait time is terrible terrible I waited our hour and a half to connect with someone and then to someone one person to another person. Another 15 minutes another 20 minutes go for someone else .

Impossible to contact to cancel cover after sold car – I sold car and tried to cancel my cover with AAMI. Everytime I ring them it's impossible to get through. After holding for 30 minutes an automated voice says there is no capacity and to ring back at a later time. I tried to email but after 10 working days I have had no response. SUCH A DISGRACEFUL COMPANYY – It has been a horrific experience with them. I have a claim pending with them FOR 1 YEAR AND COUNTING. For a minor accident that I was not fault at, they asked me to pay the excess fee and promised me to fight on my behalf. Every time I call them, I have to be in at least 2-3 hours on the wait and every time they say "waiting for the dash cam… Read more

footage from the other party". What kind of company is this who makes you pay the excess fee and doesn't settle the claim for the whole 1 year??? Where is my money??? and now they increased my premium and I am not able to switch to the different insurance as my claim is still active with them. Such a SHAME!!! Hopefully no one joins them.

Stay away!!! – First of June my car was in a 3 car pile up with an aami insured driver at fault. By 10 business days I had not heard anything from aami. I called and had very long wait times. Finally spoke to someone who had no idea about anything. Could not even tell me where my car is. I had to phone the tow company to find out my car is still with them… Read more

and no report for photo requests from aami has even been emailed to them..

So phone aami again with long wait times..

Was told by aami to collect my car?. And hung up on.

Call again.

Put a complaint in.( done).

Still no one has contacted me.

Still calling and on hold for hours.

I just want to know what is going on aami?

Do better.

And stating your here to help is just a joke. How do you lose someone's car and then say don't get up set with us? Your kidding right!!

Stay away from aami!!

Very hard to get a hold of. I spent an entire day trying to make a claim – I was involved in a minor accident and tried to make a claim on Aami website but it said I had to call. There was no answer on the phone after 3 attempts. I only managed to contact them via the other parties insurance company who gave me an email address. Show details

the worst service to date – I have been on the phone with this insurer all day only to be cut off time and time again. After 8 calls finally gotten through and to be placed on hold because e they have no idea whats going on with the claim even after given them all the details ask for and even given the claim number itself. You are not lucky with AAMI! I would advise to go else where with a Australian Call Centre. Show details

Frauds! – I paid $650 excess amount of an accident I was involved in, i understand i was at fault. But i had the the car of other party, it was completely fine. And he gave his car on 28/04/2022. The incident happened on 07/4/2022. A clear 3 weeka GaP. I just don't understand why Aami is still holding my money and the lady named Kelie from claims team was so so rude. Worst claim handling I have ever encountered – The claim process is taking too long and after submitting required documents and calling twice to enquire about it and waiting on the line for nearly an hour each time they request more details and the process starts again. They do not bother to contact you and you have to follow up and waste your time on the phone because the claim chat on the website does not even work. Show details

You're unlucky with aami – Tried to call them to lodge a claim but ending up waiting more than two hours, the funny thing is the auto voice kept telling me to lodge it online instead because it's faster but when i went online to lodge it, guess what? "Sorry online claims are not yet available for this product, please call us" just wow. Stay away from this company if you don't want to waste your time trying to call them. Show details

Your commercials – In these uncertain times we are flooded from everywhere in regards to vaccinations and covid and the anxiety it causes us all. I just don't understand why AAMI would have a commercial about it, instead of your products. Telstra and other companies are following this trend. Devastating to hold 4 AAMI policies to be told no insurance 'on a technicality' – My car parked in my drive way was cleaned up at 3am by a stolen vehicle, left running on our property and deserted by the drivers. The police arrived confirming the running vehicle was stolen and the driver had had another accident in my suburb right before running into my car. My car was insured for third party with AAMI being three years old… Read more

but having slight hail damage so comprehensive insurance was not an option. I look up my policy and feel relief that AAMI will tow my car away and pay me up to $5000, even though I had just agreed to see the vehicle for $9000. My policy states AAMI will pay for damage incurred by an 'uninsured' driver. When I called AAMI wiht the police job number, and advising them that if a driver is 'uninsured' their policy says they will pay out, feeling relieved I will be offered some assistance. Apparently 'no'. Robyn at AAMI smugly tells me I need all the drivers details. If the driver is not identified, the policy won't pay even if clearly the 'driver' won't be insured, as they are engaging in a criminal act. Apparently she cannot even log a claim. She doesn't try and assist me in any way- ie talk to a manager. The Policy states 'uninsured driver', not 'uninsured car'. The stolen car's insurance should have no bearing on this.

So in the height of all this AAMI lets me down and badly. I have never made ac claim on any of my four AAMI policies. Last week AAMI called me continuously truing to sign me up to more insurance to the point I got irritated. I had just signed up for health insurance with them too. I am in covid lockdown alone with three children. My husband recently died (12 months ago) and last week I had a surgery for cancer. Thanks AMMI for the stress. Time to cancel my policies. Funny - I don't feel at all Lucky that I am with AAMI.

I would highly recommend – I have had car insurance with AAMI for quite a while, for the past 5+ years anyway. For me (not everyone admittedly) they have always had a very competitive premium. Very unhelpful team – 1, The total lost team is misleading me when they find out my car was not worth to be repaired after Ammi’s member crashed into my car last week. They didn’t tell me my options but just ask me how much do I value my car which does make sense as I am the owner of my car but I have no knowledge of valuation a car. 2, push the settlement amount very… Read more

low.

3, they even tried to take the balance of car registration from me that I paid for a year of period a month ago. That really is a rip off. I paid the car registration why they take the money? What about if my car registration was not paid yet, or expired will Ammi pay for it?

4, All their misleading behaviors caused me do not trust them. All the decision or discussion between Ammi and I are not in written which make me feel unsafe to give them my certificate of car registration. Because they even refused to put the decision of phone discussions in written when I requested they to email me the decisions as evidence.

5, Ammi didn’t want to help but use some kind of strategy to hassle me. They don’t extend the hiring car for me unless I give them the certificate of my car registration which is a risk that they will make decision of settlement without my agreement and close the case.

I felt sad that Ammi team refused to let me speak with their manager but transferred my phone call to total lost team- a very difficult team.( they are playing game)

One very important thing is that Ammi is not there to help!

They know I need a car to go to work but they refused to extend the car rental.

They know that I want to speak with their leader but they put it in their computer to lodge a complaint and let me wait for their manager to ring me back which I don’t know when will the manager will ring me . Ofcause the manager didn’t ring me today. How does it help as the car rent ends at tomorrow afternoon and I have full day work tomorrow? How can I deal with them when I am at work?

I don’t think their advertising is telling truth: “lucky you are with Ammi” Not at all!

Unlucky to be crashed by Ammi’s member. Unlucky to deal with Ammi team!
