poorly sewn from the moment I opened the package. The most frustrating part is that this wasn't a single defective hook. Multiple hooks and closures throughout the dress were poorly attached. Anyone familiar with clothing construction knows that properly sewn hook-and-eye closures should withstand years of normal use. I own countless dresses, bras, and garments that use the exact same type of closures, and none of them have ever had this problem because they were actually sewn correctly. I immediately contacted the company and requested a return because the quality was nowhere near what was advertised or what anyone would expect for a $400 dress. The company approved the return, and I spent another $100 of my own money shipping it all the way back to Australia. Then came the real disappointment. After receiving the dress, instead of honoring the return and issuing a refund, they claimed the item was "damaged." The dress was NEVER worn and was returned with the tags still attached. The exact issue they are calling "damage" is the same manufacturing defect that existed when the dress arrived. So not only did I receive a poorly made dress, but after paying hundreds of dollars and expensive international return shipping, I was denied a refund for defects that were present from day one. The quality is unacceptable, the customer service is worse, and the way this situation was handled left me feeling completely taken advantage of as a customer. If you're considering spending your money here, I strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere. There are countless companies selling better-quality clothing that actually stand behind their products when something goes wrong.

ownership. After working with my local post, it was found that DHL, who Abyss by Abby works with - mislabeled and misdelivered my dress. Mind you, I pursued this all on my own without any support from the brand.

Still not having my dress, I emailed them asking them to refufill order as the wedding was approaching. They no longer had my size.

I asked them to send me a larger size and now I’d have to cover the costs of alterations on a short timeline.

Well I received the dress today. Tried it on before my alteration appointment and it REEKS on body odors. Cannot believe it and am beyond disappointed in their support, due diligence, and brand as a whole.

I personally like COMPLETELY different dresses for different occasions, whether it’s cut, colour, material, length, I genuinely browse Abyss everytime regardless, the quality is better than the majority of other luxury high street brands, and the designs are very similar to the styles I see in celebrities, so these guys have become my go to, I really don’t browse anywhere else for an event. The dress I bought feels like how I’ll feel about my wedding dress. The compliments I got continue to roll in, my mum literally almost cried when I walked out in it, (not kidding) and the weight highlighted that it was really well made, I went with full gold sequins and I am patiently waiting for my opportunity to wear it again. I don’t think I’ll feel like a legitimate princess again in my life…until I wear that dress again. 10/10

Perfect dress for any special occasion – I was ecstatic when I saw the dress online and ever more estatic when I received and tried it on. I couldn’t believe how fast it came in (being that I live in the United Stated and the site is based in Australia) and how perfect it fit on my body type. I’m 5’3 145 and I bought a small. apart with my hands if I tried. There is no way this is an almost $300 USD dress with these cheap materials. This dress can’t be worth more than $30 USD to make. I will never order again. On top of that, it costs $90 USD to return this dress, $90?! Why would that not be disclosed in detail on the website, I think that’s extremely shady. I’m so disappointed in this experience. The Perfect Black Tie Dress – I had a hard time finding the perfect dress for my engagement portraits. they had received the dress. I emailed them only to be told they would not be refunding me due to not sending removable straps back. In order for them to refund me I needed to send the strap back. Here is the kicker, they never sent straps with the dress. So how can I magically send something that was never received. Never mind that they sent me a cheap looking dress and certainly not $499 worth. Honestly the absolute worst quality. It’s been 20 days now and they’ve not responded to my emails. They have the dress and my money. I’ve never written a negative review, but this merchant truly deserves to be called out. I have now lodged a claim against them for their fraudulent dealings. You’re not even worthy of 1 star.
