Adam Internet is now part of the iiNet Group.
DONT do it!!! – Terrible service from the get go. Spoke to a guy to get prices, he didn't even know about the Internet online deals. Asked him if I chose Adam, would I be connected with no loss of service, he said yeh it's fine, he was so 'I don't care' that I almost told him to stuff it but thought, they can't all be that bad, so I continued. Two days later, no… Read more
telephone, no internet. Called Adam and held for 30 minutes and gave up. Called again and opted for a call back. Got the call back and was on hold for 25 minutes...yes, they called me!!! When I finally spoke to someone, a guy in the background was mocking a customer saying in a sad voice "awww they have no internet hahaha" I was disgusted and told the person I spoke to, to cancel my agreement, because if this is the service I have received signing up, I do not want to be a customer of theirs. Absolutely disgusting service. Like the saying goes, "you pay peanuts, you get monkeys". DONT do it!!!
Adam let down by iinet – Have been with Adam for nearly 2 decades as only solution to very slow dial up was their WiMax. Had great local service and product - until iinet took over (TPG). Left us as legacy cases with no direct access to Adam, no interest in Adam clients, no offers to upgrade and had to ring them to finally get transferred to Adam personnel. WiMax is now… Read more
extremely slow. I'm swapping to Spintel as iinet and TPG not interested in keeping clients. Feel sorry for the Adam staff who get no funding or support from the owners
Do not go with Adam Internet for email hosting – Over the time we’ve been with poor Adam internet, we have lost thousands of dollars in lost business. On a regular basis we cannot send and receive emails, and when it happened one time it went for 6 days. Their customer service doesn’t give a damn, every time I have wanted a manager to call me and explain why this constantly happens, that has never happened. So over it, so bye bye useless Adam Internet. Show details

Good internet service but poor customer service – NBN connection has been smooth and mostly problem free. However we have had an issue with our billing as the sign-up incentive has not been applied and customer service has been very slow to rectify this. I am considering moving service as there are other providers offering more competitive rates for new customers. Show details
Appologies to Adam Internet - Update 8/05/2017 – Update - 8/05/2017 Had TELSTRA around this morning - Land line and all the connections in the house are all in perfect condition - getting over 6Mbps. It was the modem causing the problem. The Techie suggested, don't expect more that 5 years life out of a modem/router and he stated that modems don't necessarily go bang and die, they can start… Read more
degrading in performance over a surprisingly long time.
The old NetComm NB6Plus4W modem is now in the bin and rewriting this review aided with a new Netgear Nighthawk AC1900 Model D7000 router. Ready for anything the NBN can throw at me. A new review on this new modem to follow when things settle down.
NOTE - Adam Internet, Internode and iiNet are owned by TPG, so your choices for an ISP in Adelaide is limited.
I have left the original review in place. Adam, nor Telstra's old copper network - was not the problem - it was the modem - but will update again if anything changes.
old title.....Had enough - smoke signals would be faster.
Been with Adam Internet for about 8 years on a naked ADSL2+ service. The last 6 months the service has declined rapidly. Constant service drop-outs, very low data transfer rates and constantly having to reset WiFi router. Time to seriously look elsewhere for a reliable ISP.
Excuses have be made for aging (copper wire) infrastructure, the Exchange having insufficient outputs (or shared outputs???) failure to upgrade existing systems that cannot handle increasing data demands. Don't make excuses - just give me a service I am paying for.
This last week is typical - the service ceased to function, contacted Adam on Thursday before Easter, speed test checked the line and it was almost inoperative - to expect an investigation and a fix next week. The service was made good on the following Tuesday - followed by but another system outage on Thursday night and Friday night - today (Saturday morning and another router reset) it's working enough to use. On pubic holidays and 6pm to 10pm times the service declines to a crawl or totally melts down - looks like a Bandwidth issue.
Adam Internet - Spend the money to upgrade to match demand or lose many more customers.
It is ok, been happy with them for 8 yrs, northern Adelaide suburb, 500kbs – Not super pricey, not super speed - were very reliable, more often than not it is my equipment's fault if there is no internet. However, anything other than internet (phone, mobile...) seems too pricey and out of date. I was thinking to get a bundle of phone and internet, however they charge extra for 13/1300 #, which makes me think their infinite… Read more
talk over the phone has more hidden charges. Very impatient, pushy customer service.
My speed went down when iinet took over, however i have changed my speed setting on their website, and it is back to normal. I have recommended them to many people, however the budget is tight and they don't help with savings for customers, so I might have to change my isp.

Email account passwords stopped working – Email account passwords just stopped working one day. They don't provide technical support on weekends, numerous other promises from iinet that Adam would call back with one hour+ wait times and they never call back. Show details
stolen the account, charges, no help – my wife stopped using it more than 5 years. Suddenly account has been stolen and reopen, the company didnt help much to resolve the problem. money keep charged again again. I have no trust on this company Show details
Not keeping to what they say – Before I went onto the NBN I phoned up Adam to check if I could get the same sort of deal I was on at the time. When speaking to someone I was promised that nothing will change with the free overseas calls on my landline phone will not stop. When I tried to ring overseas on the NBN I was charged for it. When checking with Adam I was told that they… Read more
never said that nothing will change and that I will be charged for all overseas calls unless I pay extra. This did not happen. As I have just taken out another contract at the time I have another two years to find another supplier which I will do when my contract finishes. Unless you ask for a number when you phone up Adam for this type of question you have nothing to fall back onto or prove what they said. Unfortunately I did not.

Customer Service poor – Have been with Adam for many years (went with them because of being local), now iiNet and like others have been very frustrated dealing with support area since the change. person with any influence to change their behavior because they have locked comms to their email channel, and requesting escalation to talk to someone in authority is a waste of (much) time. Support people in Jo'burg appear to be nice people, but they are very difficult to understand and don't seem to grasp explanations of issues, making it time consuming and very frustrating to get the message through. Would not recommend, and I'll be reviewing my service when I get a chance - although they all now seem to have issues.
On a positive note, recently broke the incoming telstra line in the field on a Sunday (rural property) , knocking out all phone / internet. Reported to Support team via mobile and took ages to get them to understand the issue. However telstra technician turned up Monday morning and fixed the problem. Even got a refund from iiNet for the outage time, so not all bad.
How you kill a great Adelaide company – Such a pity, we were with Adam for 23 years and they were great. The service was excellent and they were helpful as technology changed and along with it so did our internet needs. But all good things come to an end and Adam came to an for us when they sold out to iiNet. Almost straight away we had issues if internet drop outs, slow speeds, no… Read more
service. We spent hours on the phone trying to resolve issues, we paid more, we waited, we tried everything suggested which was frustrating and disappointing. Through loyalty we wanted to make it work. But the service was terrible. Unusable most of the time and no fixed or compensated after months of trying. And we had to pay a fee to leave after 20+ years when they could see and admit we had no coverage and lots of drop outs.
Terrible, awful non-existent customer service and internet – Adam Internet are awful. The connection drops out multiple times a day. I have now been charged for extra data which I haven't received. Trying to get in touch with someone to sort out the problem is ridiculous. I keep getting put through to iiNet but it's nothing to do with them because my invoice is with Adam. Show details

No internet no help – Have no internet. Adam tells me it’s state wide. Have internet with Adam at home and it works. Call again told they will sort it up to 48hrs. So bad and we can't even contact them to get it fixed – Days of no connection and we can't even get to contact anyone to resolve. Numerous attempts via phone result in ringing out, Then tried an email message and the auto response is try to phone! We are paying for a service we can't receive. Think we have no choice but to change providers. Who runs this show - they should be made to resign. Show details
CONSTANT TROUBLE! SO ANNOYING – If they're are not debiting more money than you owe from your account then they're delivering horrible customer service. You'll find yourself constantly calling due to one problem or another. When your call is picked, even the service member places you on hold more times than can be counted. And don't even get me started on how faulty IT ALWAYS IS. I feel like at least twice a month I'm calling to complain about something. So annoying. Show details
Customer service comparable only to Faulty Towers and Monty Python – The CS is about as effective as a monkey with a telephone. In fact I'd rather speak to the monkey. Are is there actually anyone who knows English in this company? A clear example of the flaws of globalisation. Show details

All the other bad reviews are false.. IT IS WORSE than they say – Since install in 2015 we had continuous sporadic service. Now in 2017 the service everyday ( for months) from 3pm til late is useless. I suspect it is overloaded with customers streaming movies/gaming etc. So my as a sole trader, my business emails such as invoicing etc waits til 10pm.. or I don't get paid. Absolute joke – Should be applauded for how reliable the service is. - You can rely on it being absolute garbage. - You can rely on it dropping out at least 6 times a day. - You can rely on the dropouts and speeds to significantly worsen at peak times like ~7PM. congratulations! Your connection may become borderline usable (for a month or two, maximum, then it will revert to non-stop dropouts until you call again). Roll 9 or lower and that's just a shame, but your connection is going to continue being nigh unusable.
I don't know what Adam Internet customer support get paid, but I can guarantee it would not be enough. They must be hearing non-stop abuse from furious customers frothing at the mouth from their experience with this shoddy, pathetic service their company provides. I consider myself an empathetic, rational person in control of their emotions, but their absolutely revolting ""service"" fills me so utterly with seething, boiling RAGE that I find myself summoning the entire inner strength of my character just to stop myself from taking the router out onto the lawn and beating it into jagged plastic shards with my BARE HANDS like some kind of silverback gorilla.
Do you know the tale of King Sisyphus, who was sentenced by Zeus to roll a boulder up a hill for all eternity, only to have it roll back down when it reached near the top? Up, down, up, down, over and over, never ending. That is who you will become if you sign up to Adam Internet. Your internet will drop and refuse to come back until you grab that router and manually reset it. 25 minutes later, there it goes again, so reach for that router and reset it. 20 minutes later, it's gone, so reach for that router... You will do this AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN. And just like Sisyphus, you are doing this because you are being punished. You are being punished for signing up to Adam Internet.
Picking an ISP in Australia is like choosing between different flavours of turd, but Adam Internet is the most rancid, rheumy turd on the market. Do not give these brigands a single red cent.
Way too difficult since iiNet has been involved – If you're an Adam customer everything is difficult on the phone with iiNet. Only certain staff can assist Adam customers and 'Legacy' computer systems must be accessed by staff which takes time. In addition the 'Adam' staff work different hours than iiNet staff. With luck I will be moving away from Adam soon. Show details

Wasted hours of my life to get hung up on everytime – Got nbn connected via Foxtel, as they said we had too. Now our Foxtel and to doesn't work properly because they won't connect it properly. Constant drop out! such a crap services – On a daily, we get 5-10 drop out in an hour in walkley heights! Rang many times, they say they will call back but lucky if I get a call back! slow speeds and pages not loading. Had to log speeds and times over a weekend and send them through. Needless to say after weeks of back and forth and being told at first it was my none authorised router, then they send out a technician to be finally told on Tuesday that it is due to their signal for the tower being too weak as other towers in the area were stronger and knocking their signal out. They kindly said they will keep my account open until I find a new provider, but I said what is the point if it drops out every 5 minutes. So now I am no longer an adam/iinet customer. My advice to anyone who is having major dropouts, don't bother to keep on with them. Find a new provider asap. I have signed on with Nuskope as WiMAX is the only way i can go with a pair gained telephone line. Bring on 7th of June when i finally have home internet again.

after 2hrs so you leave your phone number to get called back, which funny enough happens at 1am. Any takers for this great service?? You give them the story about what's happening or more likely not happening, and not only once. Speed variations up and down and most periods download speeds were at one stage as low as 1kb/s - if at all. The friendly man from South Africa knows it all and changes my profile to the fastest - because that fixes everything he says, but it might take a moment. And he is not interested in the history of my previous issues, me trying to point out to him that profile causes more issues as it has been proven before. What would i know what data they can look actually look at to fix my problems? Needless to say, it didn't fix the issue. Called up again... and again... but this last time this guy looked a bit further into it, I think he was from New Zealand? He seemed to be a bit more knowledgeable than the others previously and said my upload speed is terrible, something is definitely wrong.
Jumping through all the hoops and yes if they find out the fault is on my side i will have to pay for the guys coming out checking everything. No problem at all, if the fault is mine that is.
My last invoice? I have been charged $130 for supposedly incorrect callout fee and labour.
Funny enough, since a while my download speed is back up to 600kb/s again and stable, no slowing down anymore, no interruptions whatsoever. HOW does that work Mr iinet??? And we haven't even seen a technician anywhere close to our door either!
The knowledge of most people in their call centres does not seem up to scratch, waiting times are so much worse than even telstra, but they do seem to have the newest technology invisible technicians. (sorry, couldn't help it)
iinet compared to what Adam WAS, they are lacking a LOT.
Sorry, but your company can NOT be recommended to anyone.
Same is with WiMax. My daughter has Adam WiMax, but if something goes wrong on a weekend she's on her own. Why? Because iinet does not support WiMax, that's still run by a few guys from Adam internet here in Adelaide. Which is a good thing, as long as you have a question during normal office hours that is.Otherwise there's nothing happening and the customer service of iinet gives you the runaround because they either don't seem to believe you they don't have access to any of that customer data or still think they can fix something they don't have the expertise for. Except something would have changed there just recently which i am not aware of.
iinet should start to take responsibility for their bad service, the grief they give their customers and finally start to learn from all the feedback.
Put some wheels in motion to change it the better, act on the feedback you are getting, and unless I'm wrong, isn't that what these product reviews are about?
Steve, not the only unhappy customer @adam.com.au
Most frustrating teeth aching customer service I have ever experienced after IInet buyout. Forget II – ADSL2, good Adam service for many years. Now iinet - every month they overcharge me, and zombie apocalypse call centre don't fix it month after month. Horrible since takeover – I have or should have adls2. Since iinet bought out Adam the quality of service has plunged to horrible depths. 10pm at night we cannot even watch Netflix with everything else shut off on our network. I hope everyone looking to sign a new contract look past any tpg/iinet owned company, read reviews before signing up to something they cannot deliver.
Thank God Nuskope offer a service outside of the NBN so I can avoid anything like this again.
Customer Service Technical Assistance Wait Times – Adam internet would not understand customer service if it was written in language a three year old could understand. I have been with Adam for many years and the customer service prior to the buy out by IINet was excellent. Now if I have a aproblem I wait for at least an hour for tech support, tonight I waited for 2 hours and 16 minutes only for the line to go dead after that time. 0 out of 5 for customer service. explained I did not have internet. Then he asked for my customer name, so I gave him, and he wanted the full spelling. Then he wanted the phone number (which I had already provided when I called half an hour earlier), and he said he could not find me in the system. Then he exclaimed "oh, you are an Adam customer", and asked me to hold on while he was forwarding the call to another colleague. I was put on hold for half an hour until the line dropped. I called back, and again I received the automatic reply saying they would call me back after half an hour. When I received the new call, I talked to a lady, had to explain her the problem again, then she asked me: "first, how are you doing today"? I mean, do they have a checklist of how to engage (not!) with their customers? Then I had to spell my user name, first name, family name, she had to retrieve my data, asked me to wait while in her background there were people shouting and singing, then she also asked me to hold on... I exploded and shouted her NOT to do it because I was not willing to have the line dropped again and waste another 30 minutes. Right at that moment, internet magically restarted after a 5-hour blackout. Thanks God. This is the most absurd, useless, time-wasting call to a customer service I have ever had. Sorry Adam, you are about to lose a very affectionate customer. Your new owner shall totally rethink customer service. As it is now, it's a real joke.
Can not reach support – I have for the last 2 nights tried to contact the so called support line (should be renamed NO SUPPORT) last night 3/5/17 was on hold just waiting to hopefully speak to someone, for just over an hour before I gave up.
