Terrible Quality; Zero Service; Significantly Overdue on Delivery – I purchased the Santa Monica Chaise from Adriatic with a 14-16 week delivery. Here are my observations: - Delivery was closer to 6 months with virtually zero communication from the store. - Upon delivery I immediately noticed various defects including: - significant leather indentation and creases - clear misalignment of the two modular… Read more

pieces and - large gaps between the back rest and cushions - An inspection was arranged with improvement (but not fixing) of the creasing. No improvement to gaps / misalignment - it took weeks to get an email response saying that the issues are within the guidelines of Adriatic's "quality" standards

I ask everyone who sees this to look at the pictures and consider whether you would find the below acceptable for a brand new (and expensive) couch. Because this is what you'll get and what Adriatic seemingly thinks is acceptable. Also consider whether you need it within half a year. I'm now left with what looks frankly second hand and of an unacceptably low quality and will need to take my own remediation steps.

High quality, very comfortable – We bought a couch, coffee table and bookshelf for our sitting room and they are all extremely high quality, look amazing and are very comfortable. Communication from team members was very professional and kept us up to date with delivery.

Warranty a disgrace – Bought the Bliss leather couch. After only 10 months The colour has started to wear off and looks hideous. They sent the leather doctor out to inspect. Which they have said it's "wear and tear" and not covered under warranty. 100% genuine leather should not have "wear and tear after such a short time. Absolutely disgusted in the customer service and claims department. Show details

Could give 0 stars if I could. My new delivered sofa has a cut in the leather and the company is not ready to replace it. This is against the Australian consumer laws. to the customer service for the past 2 weeks but no one is listening. Don't spend your hard earned money on Adriatic furniture, you will regret it. I will now report them to the Consumer affairs Victoria to take action against them.

19/03 - Ordered a couch in mid-March. - Was given an estimated date of April 5th. - Upon paying the deposit the estimate changes to April 10th. - No contact from Adriatic so I called on the 10th. Staff tell me it will be a further 2-3 weeks. - Express frustration to the Nunawading staff member: > Given multiple dates to which none are accurate.… Read more

> No communication from them until I called. > Inconvenience as now work must be taken off to be home for the couch. - She replies 'I will add the notes to the order' and hangs up abruptly.

22/04 - Delivery is upgraded and I'm told I'll be called to organise delivery for 24/04. - Paid the final balance of the couch and awaited a call. Received a receipt for the invoice.

23/04 - Didn't receive a call but got an email to say that I'm supposed to call them and now delivery is no longer available on 24/04. Attempted to call twice, no answer both times. - Finally got on the phone to someone. They tell me I haven't paid, I offer to send the invoice receipt via email and they decline it telling me again they haven’t got the payment. - They tell me the next delivery date is May 8th. - Call again and are told now the delivery date is May 11th. - I've asked to be put in contact with someone as I don't wish to continue business with them. This process has shown me that Adriatic don't truly care about their customers.

UPDATE: 24/04 - Receive a phone call from Laura from Head Office at 8am to say that if I pay, I can have the couch delivered that day. I explain that I have already paid and if I can send the receipt and invoice link they’ll see. I send the link and she says she can see the payment, the person who was supposed to process it had gone on leave. I tell Laura that it can’t be delivered as everyone had gone to work and nobody would be home. I explain the phone call on the 23rd and the frustration around this entire process. Laura says she’ll have it passed up the chain after delivery. Delivery booked for 29/04.

28/04 - I ask if I have to pay for delivery as compensation for this muck around and for someone to contact me today. No response.

29/04 - Received couch and paid delivery fee. - Laura from Head Office called to check in with how the delivery went. The payment issue was an oversight and will be taken into account going forward. Laura offered a refund to the delivery for the company making this mistake.

Out of 3 staff members I’d spoken to, Laura was seemingly the only one that was reasonable and wanted to help. The others didn’t really show the level of care or concern for anything I had to say.

Kudos to you Laura and thanks again for sorting all of this out. I hope the rest of the team learn to listen to your customers as you have.

I ordered a dining room table in late June 2024. It was told by the salesman the delivery would be a few days. To avoid further paperwork, I paid upfront... big mistake. I received the invoice but strangely with the delivery data omitted. Three weeks later I emailed the salesman to find out where my table was. He replied it would arrive in FOUR… Read more

MONTHS, without explanation or an apology. Four months later, I enquired again. I was told it would be another SIX WEEKS. Six weeks later I was told another SIX WEEKS. It arrived in February 2025. From order to delivery was about 7.5 MONTHS. After the four month mark, they said the shipping company from China had gone broke. I don't know the truth about what happened and I suspect there was a lot more to the story what happened that I was not told about.

A container ship from China to Australia can take between 12 and 62 days, depending on the shipping method and the ports of origin and destination. So why 230 days (7.5 months)!

The assemblers were excellent, and a table was reasonably good quality. Adriatic waived the shipping fee to my house. If the table was bad quality or they were going to charge for shipping, I would have given them zero stars if I could.

LESSONS LEARNT: 1. NEVER pay cash up front for anything. 2. Read the entire invoice and check there is a delivery date in writing. 3. If buying furniture, get it in writing the item is in stock.

On the last point, we went to a nearby competitor to Adriatic Furniture and purchased several more items of furniture. We got it in writing the items were in stock, and their service level was exemplary.

Would I buy from Adriatic Furniture again? No.

Very helpful staff, good advice given. I am disabled and I could access the store easily. There was a lift to take me to the first floor. The product range is extensive. I have ordered a sofa and chair to be made up in leather, so the dye lot is the same shade - advised to do this by the person who helped me. This has meant I have to wait.
