Heya ! This is Zara Haris from Adelaide blair Athol ,I had an excellent experience with the internet service team. Two technicians came RYAN and INDY, they did a fantastic job improving our internet. They replaced the device, and their communication was really clear and soft-spoken. They were incredibly professional and provided top-notch service. power supply and its HOT, - must be defective, next door neighbor has the same unit lent us theirs while they are on holidays- Internet now working yea!, called the AGL internet service to get a new transformer unit & the girl does not understand what we are saying (cant understand her) , Offered to send her a photo of the unit and she hangs up!, Clearly does not know what a transformer is- not on her script! one guy sending me this text to "clarify". When I told the guy it didn't make sense he said "then ma'am I just cannot help you" and hung up on me but like whattt lol. Finally got on to a woman who was able to tell me they'll just mail the NBN box, no appointment necessary...but it shouldn't have been that hard. Don't even bother with the chat, it's useless.

blames AGL need to understand that NBN sets the specs for compatibility not AGL. And these change. So your modem may work now but not in 6 months due to incompatibility.

FROM THE NBN WEBSITE The wording below comes from NBN and explains why this “Some commonly used modems don’t fully support nbn’s requirements and may cause problems with your network connection. Here’s what you need to know.

The Fibre to the Node (FTTN) and Fibre to the Building (FTTB) networks use VDSL2 technology. While many modems include this technology, a number of them don’t fully meet nbn network requirements.

This means that while some model can initially connect to the network, there may be features missing that are necessary for your internet connection to remain stable. If your modem does not support all the requirements, your connection may be affected in the following ways: * Your connection may not run at its full speed or may drop out * nbn may block your modem from connecting to the network if it’s interfering with other users’ services * nbn may not accept fault reports for your service until the modem is changed and compatible.

work! I called to complain and try and resolve it and AGL told me that it was Telstra that was holding it up. I called Telstra who emphatically told me that all AGL had to do was call their porting section and it would be done. Another call to AGL and after informing them what Telstra said I was told would be done and I would be called next business day to confirm. Guess what, no call back, and when I called them, I was basically told bad luck wait until the previously advised connection date. NOT GOOD ENOUGH AGL!! SELLING A PRODUCT TO ELDERLY PEOPLE WITH HEALTH ISSUES AND NOT ADVISING THEM THAT THEY WOULD HAVE NO ACCESS TO A LANDLINE FOR ALMOST TWO WEEKS. DISGUSTING MISCONDUCT!!! AVOID AGL.

This isn't just an issue of simple billing errors; it's a complete failure of basic data management and customer verification. How does a company, supposedly operating in a highly regulated industry, manage to mess up customer information so badly? The level of negligence here is staggering.

Trying to resolve the issue has been nothing short of a nightmare. AGL Internet’s customer service is either completely clueless or willfully unhelpful. Attempts to contact them result in a frustrating loop of hold music, scripted responses, and empty assurances that "the issue will be investigated." Yet, the bills keep coming.

This raises a serious question: if AGL Internet can’t even get their billing records straight, how can anyone trust them with providing a stable internet connection? If their back-end systems are this broken, one can only imagine the frustration of dealing with their technical support when actual service issues arise.

AGL Internet's incompetence isn’t just an inconvenience—it’s a potential risk. If they’re this reckless with customer data, what’s stopping them from mishandling payment details or exposing private information? In an era where data security is paramount, this is a red flag that shouldn’t be ignored.

Verdict: Avoid at All Costs AGL Internet has proven itself to be not just unreliable but downright irresponsible. Whether it's their inability to verify customer identities, their blatant mismanagement of billing information, or their complete lack of accountability, this is a company that should be nowhere near your internet connection. Save yourself the headache—choose a provider that at least understands where its customers live.

AGL Internet nightmare – Just keep away they charge every month differently $75 then $85 recently $93, and if you don't pay on time another $10 on top of the bill. How they charge? no idea, I tried to call but to get through it is nightmare. My mistake i did not read the reviews before I joined otherwise I will not join this Joke AGL internet even for free. document from me to prove that I live in my new home before they can connect me. BUT (1) THEY DIDN'T TELL ME. It took me around 45 minutes to even find out. I have spent more than 2 hours today, 10 days after I moved in, to try to prove that I live in my new home. Until they get this proof they won't even start to set up my connection. Tragically funny, one way to prove that I live there is an electricity bill. I have an electricity plan at the new address with AGL but they won't accept that. They need a bill. But no bills have been issued yet since I just moved in, so that won't work. Their customer service team is almost comically slow: to get through security questions and get to the heart of the problem has taken me at least 30 minutes every time. Today I finally got lucky and after 45 minutes with the service person we found a document they would accept as proof that I live in my new home. Phew! Unfortunately this didn't solve my connection problems. AGL say they are now going to start provisioning with NBN and it will take another week until I can access the internet. This is for an existing property with an existing, fully functioning NBN connection. Facepalm. Update: 2 days later I missed a call from an unknown number then got a text asking me to call AGL. Excited that it might be confirmation of my connection to NBN I called back. The first call I went through 15 mins of security checks then was put on hold (no music) for 5 minutes then hung up on, the second call I was transferred to another team, went through 5 minutes of security checks, was put on hold then hung up on. The third call I got to speak to a person. He said they cancelled my order because I didn't answer the phone. So there is now NO ORDER. Unbelievable! And it took me 49 minutes, multiple call backs and so much call waiting time to find this out. Update: Another day later and the guy who said he'd set up a new order for me yesterday (from scratch) actually must have succeeded. Not sure why he needed to run a 15 minute credit check when the previous order didn't need one, but woo hoo I got confirmation today that my internet was live. and when I checked it actually was. Phew.

promises were made but not followed through, speeds were terrible, hardly ever reaching half of what was touted, internet always too slow to load pages, had to use my own mobile to gain access, WiFi continuously couldn't cope with an extra mobile on WiFi, always dropping out or timing out. Waited for over a week for my modem to arrive, also wanted a home phone which was a huge mistake, without a home phone for more than 10 days, despite numerous calls, in the end I gave up, and went back to Telstra, all sorted within a few minutes. Speeds were tested using speedtest.com, despite using AGL's suggested speed test, which always gave enormously higher figures. Should have done my due diligence and believed all the poor reviews, but in the hope of them over exaggerating, I mistakenly tried AGL. Never again! Telstra might be a little more expensive but consistently reliable, excellent understandable Support staff and a far better product.

Worst of worst internet customer service – - poor c/s called 10times and they seems like only read script not supporting my issue at all. - dealing with 3weeks with them decide to change other company and fixed in 20mins It wasn’t big issue if AGL has right tech team who knows what they are doing waste of money and time. Cheap if you have AGL energy but unreliable and long outages – Day 3 of no internet with AGL. Their outage page says there is an outage in SA that was posted 5 days ago but it still hasn't been updated. Just mind boggling that they can't provide any updates. Even when it was working, the internet was slow, with some strange routing going on and the occasional webpage that was unreachable. At one point even the AGL live chat would not load - on their own internet! Had to use my mobile data to access.

connected in 3 days. Naturally, I phoned AGL & said I didn't want it connected until I'd received the 'pack', & had time to compare services & plans. The woman I spoke to confirmed that my internet WOULDN'T be connected until/if I chose. Imagine my horror when, 3 days later I received a text saying my internet was now connected to AGL!!! I phoned them & politely but firmly told them that I HADN'T authorized the switch, & wanted it disconnected with them. I then phoned my provider to inform them. Within 24hrs AGL disconnected ...... but, left me with no home internet! They hadn't relinquished the line back to my original provider! I was then left with no home internet for approx 10 days, while my provider tried to reconnect me! AGL's Dispute Resolution Specialist (specialist??? Really?) provided an apology for my experience, but no clear apology for THEIR mistake, or why it happened! He offered a 'Goodwill Credit', but conditional on me taking up AGL Internet. Then, he finished the email with "We have now officially closed your complaint". I would NEVER use AGL Telecommunications for my internet, even if their service was half the cost, for the same plan! And I'm now considering changing my electricity provider too, to distance myself from the name.

hold track for another minute. Such poor customer service, they really need to hire more support staff. Have never spent this long waiting for technical support for any other provider. I had horrible nbn that wouldn't work, they said there was nothing they could do took 2 weeks of going in circles to get an mbn technician who ' fixed it and still didn't work for days and they blame a state wide outage which wasn't recorded on nbn site.. absolute scam worst internet I got it because my electricity is with agl but it does not work. they cancelled my account before I could even be connected, hilarious level of ineptitude – Tldr; not worth your time or money. It’d be easier to use your phone’s personal hotspot Took near 2months for AGL to arrange nbn connection set up after 2 rescheduled appointments. While arranging recheduling via phone, they managed to cancel my account (account which existed, but not yet in use due to rescheduling of nbn set up). Other providers with comparable pricing plans and less of a headache would be better to work with. Show details
