So unbelievably slow. I switched to Aussie Broadband and the speed increased 5x immediately, same hardware, same speed package. I can’t believe it took me so long to change. My god if you read this do not get agl internet… it’ll ruin your life Show details

We have been with AGL since July 2025 and have had nothing but issues. I work from home fairly often and have installed a dual band mesh system to help with coverage in our house. best I would get 3 bars, but it never lasted more than a couple of minutes before dropping out again. I have since shifted to Telstra and have had full bar WIFI non stop. Should have moved earlier.

to switch to AGL, which was the best decision we've made for our mobile/internet honestly. We found a plan with everything exactly how we wanted it in a bundle. Everything went soooo smoooootth and they were super quick to help us out. They switched us from our old provider to theirs quickly and with no fuss, we were able to keep our original numbers; they sent us the modem + new sims quickly too with a tracking number, arriving exactly on the day it was scheduled for arrival. Once we got the modem it took them around 48h (a bit less actually) to activate the internet service (as informed in their website) and we got really good speeds. The BIG plus? Everything can be done online without having to even leave the house. For their customer service (on top of having a phone number you can call) they have a message/chat function online, I actually used it this week to ask them to include my wife's name for our upcoming bills and it was done on the same day even though they're apparently busier than usual. So you don't need to call or anything, you can just send a message through the chat and they'll take care of it. I have to say I'm really happy with everything, I'd recommend 100%.

Frequent Dropouts – I am an AGL Elec customer and received an AGL NBN offer which I took up on 28/12/22. confirmed it wasn’t a NBN outage but an outage limited to AGL telecommunications.

Either AGL don’t have solid infrastructure to support their network or their team of engineers are performing trial and errors.

@AGL we did not signup for such a poor service. Should we have known that at a discounted price came frequent dropouts, we would have just stayed with our previous NBN service provider.

AGL Internet – Started off well, the had drop outs and reduced download speeds, nowhere near 50mbps. NBN said they had fixed a problem in the street, but never came to my house to check that the fix worked! Download speeds intermittently are reduced to 20mbps or below. Show details ·  1

Initially download speed was a bit slower than before but after power cycling modem and NBN box (had to do this from time to time with previous ISP) my speed was as good if not better than previous ISP. I would expect this to be a necessary step to reset connection after changing ISP to refresh the service. I’m on HFC.

While it’s early days I can’t say I have had any problems and the transition was easy and handled promptly. No complaints and more than happy. Not being locked in on a contract and is a big plus too as is AGL NBN being carbon neutral which was an important factor for me also.

This is by far the worst provider I have ever experienced in Australia and globally. They have had so many dropouts over the last 4 years I have been their customer and probably the sneakiest telco I've been with. Lets start with the issues: Overcharging for ongoing rates. price for any provider. they also made sure to charge me $10 compounded late fees when they do not accept my cards. I tried contacting them and they didnt bother to call me back saying their customer service team does "inbound queries" only. I threatened to take them to the ombudsman and then they were responsive.

Overall I have never been with a provider who charged late fees for 14 months without calling the customer even once. I did contact them 2 times regarding my bills. Beware!!! I would not have known until I checked my yearly bills.

about the service, dont even bother. Crappy modems and crappy signal throughout the year. Horibble during peak times.

already canned the internet, and will be doing the same with electricity, gas, and phone to tell them to shove it.

Avoid AGL internet like the plague and pick literally any other modern retailer: Aussie Broadband, Leaptel, Superloop, Spintel.

I really feel for the poor person who has the job of responding to disgruntled customers on here, not their fault their employer is shocking!

I would never recommend AGL (internet). I am not exaggerating when I say we had shortages every few days. In the past, we always had Telstra but we went with Agl when we moved house because it was a slightly cheaper. We have now gone back to Telstra because the small saving was definitely not worth the hassle. Don’t do it.

we signed up with a different internet provider (Leaptel) instead, they were able to send us the NBN box express immediately without any issues. We received the NBN box within 3 days and had our internet up and running within 4 days. AGL are time wasters. Don’t bother!

I urge AGL’s leadership team, including its board of directors, to reevaluate their priorities. Investing in service quality, customer satisfaction, and employee training should take precedence over aggressive marketing. Without meaningful changes, the company risks further alienating its client base.

To the leadership of AGL: This is not a request for a generic apology or a suggestion to contact your support team. Your team is clearly failing, and your company is becoming an example of poor management and service. If this continues, AGL will be seen as a cautionary tale in the industry, a company that other businesses laugh at rather than respect.

This experience has left me questioning the competence of AGL’s decision-makers. I hope the founders or current leadership will take these concerns seriously and implement improvements promptly.

internet is gone. After spending 4 hours on the phone where they asked me to get a qualified electrician to look at the connections. I had to get one on a Saturday as I WFH on Monday. He confirmed that there is no fault and then through my research I found that the connection was given to a wrong house. Facepalm! I call them again - 30 min later I advise the same to multiple people and spend another hour on the phone to finally get them to connect to my home. I called back about Credit and was advised that they can only give me one month credit. Which is still not given to me. Now I receive a bill which is higher than the plan cost!!

Internet has never worked, nothing they can do for me – I chose AGL as my NBN provider back in January, the service has NEVER worked, I haven't had internet for more than two months despite following all their instructions. I contacted them many times but they always say they are unable to help. I asked them to close my account and remove my unpaid bill (I won't pay for a service that's never worked), but even that seems to be extremely complicated. I would not recommend. Show details

nothing. They made so many mistakes along the way and then they would just blame it on the last person while making a new one. They told me I would get a refund. Still, no refund. I contacted customer service and they told me that I had internet the whole time so I don't get a refund. Go with literally any other company.

something wrong for our connection to be so poor. But when we said we will complain to fair trading, they suddenly admitted there's something wrong on their side and they are trying to fix it as soon as possible. Chatted with 1 and spoke to 2 of the CSRs of AGL, very bad customer service. They were like, "just do what we are saying." We would not call and ask for your help if there's nothing wrong with your service. I would not recommend AGL NBN to anyone and will never go back to AGL NBN even if they give it for free. Doesn't deserve even a star. Dear AGL Fix your internet service and hire some actual CSRs.

hopefully a class action case is taken against this sub par business, how do they deal with the issues? They act like you don't know how to use your modem or router, makes me laugh as I've had more IT experience than their call team combined who have no clue, obviously everyone has issues with ISP's from time to time but AGL suck at communicating anything, will have a new internet AND electricity provider Asap -ps I do not want an AGL damage control bot replying to this statement.. this is information for people looking to make a better choice not for you to act like your business cares

Slow and intermittent no confidence in AGL – FTTP fibre to the home and 50/20 plan but very slow. I had a lot of problems connecting originally took 3 modems and 3 months to sort out and now very slow again. YouTube on TV will not connect on AGL NBN but will connect when TV is connected to Mobile Hotspot!!! My experience appears to be typical after reading other reviews. So slow in the evening it can’t be used, had to switch to mobile hotspot – I got 50MBPs off peak, but from around 6pm-10pm every day it dropped to less than 5MBPS making it unusable. I had to hotspot off my phone and use data. AGL blamed the NBN, but as soon as I switched to a new provider I instantly got the full speed all through the day Show details

AGL is using a contact team from South-East Asia, India and you never know how you were understood on the other side and often can only guess what you were told. often rude, dismissive, and abrupt. Very unreliable. AGL twice sent us a modem and we did not receive it. Nobody contacted us to check. I am sure, that if we requested it again, the story would repeat itself a hundred times. Nobody cares. AGL blamed Australia Post and vice versa. Eventually, we simply, exhausted and changed the internet provider.
