Hey Andy, it is 7 months, but this might help others. First, there's 2 ways to get to the Messages inbox: 1. Press any key to bring up main screen. Menu (bottom left of main screen, use top left button with white curved line) Select Messages (top left icon) by pressing centre of rounded square button, or 'OK' to some. Down button to Inbox (bottom edge of OK button) (shows new/old, e.g. 1/20) Select Inbox

2. Message 'widget' on main screen select Inbox

Options (bottom left) brings up Options menu View Call Sender Forward Delete Delete All Mark several Advanced> Copy to SIM Move to SIM Copy all Move all Details

1. You can select Delete All 2. If you want to keep some, but delete most/others, then select: Mark several then press centre button (rounded square), or 'OK" button to some, for each message you want to delete. A little check box shows to the left of each message. Then: Options (bottom left) select: Delete marked

Thanks David. I’m not able to test this easily and the original problem was fixed by multiple, manual deletions, but I’m very grateful for your suggestion.

Hey Lyn, this phone is very basic, even though it appears to have apps, they don't really work. These phones try to use MRE Java apps. The Facebook app on mine just has a loading page with 5 little squares. My phone is from 2016 so it might just have caught the end of the life of these type of apps. I wouldn't use this phone for anything but phone calls, and texts. I tried loading a Java app to mine (a timer), but it wouldn't run, so gave up. I noticed on the latest version of this phone (Optus X Lite 4G), the menu is just one page of 9 options, whereas my phone has 3 pages with a total of 27 options. There's no App option on the new version.

Hey Linda, it's been a year, so this info might help others. I have used bluetooth to transfer a MIDI ringtone from my old Huawei dumbphone to the Alcatel One Touch 20.45X, so it is possible, but finding the right menu options can be frustrating. So the other method of getting contacts to a new phone is copying them to the SIM in the old phone, and then just transferring the SIM to the new phone. If you have a new SIM (new number) and aren't using the old SIM anymore, you could still use the above method, but just put the old SIM in the new phone so you can copy your contacts to the new phone's memory. Remove the old SIM. Then put the new SIM back in the new phone, and either access the old contacts from the new phone's memory, or to be safe, copy them to your new SIM, as a backup, and so you can do the same thing next time.

Hey Norma, it's been a year, so this might help others. The centre (rounded square) buttton: press the top while on the main screen for volume up, and bottom for volume down.

The red button on the right side will hang up.

Hey Lilis, it's been a year, so this might help others. Yes, SMS/Text from other countries should come through with no problems, as long as the correct country code for the destination is entered before the mobile number.

Hey Pammie, it's been a year, so this might help others. Longer: you can transfer MIDI and MP3 ringtones to the phone via bluetooth. I did this from my old Huawei to the 20.45X as I liked the sound of the old one. So you could do that. I also transferred the alarm tone from the old phone. The ringtone I transferred has 3 rings in the file, so if the phone plays the file a set amount of times, e.g. 5, then it will ring 15 times, compared to if it was just a single ring times 5.

Louder: adjust the volume to maximum (top of centre button). Also, go to Profiles> General>Customize>Ring volume: 1 to 7

Hey John, it's been a year, so this might help others. You have to transfer any MIDI/MP3 ringtones via bluetooth to the 'My Files' section of the phone. It's probably easiest to download the ringtone to another phone first, then pair via bluetooth, and transfer across. The you goto Menu, and select the 'My Files' option. This has folders, like Audio, and there is one called Received. Select that folder and the files should be there. Selecting a MIDI/MP3 file there lets you play it, and other options, like 'Use as ringtone'.

Hey Wudhi, it's been 2 years, so this might help others. I find the easiest way is to use a fingernail to slightly pry the case apart at the bottom near the charge port. Once it's open slightly, just use the other hand (finger nail) to pull apart.

Hey Jan, it's been 2 years, so this might help others. I couldn't find a manufacture date on the phone itself, but I checked my battery, and it does. Mine is 01-31-2016.

Hey busybee, it's been 2 years, so this might help others. The icon on the 5 button is for the LED torch which shines from the top of the phone. You have to press and hold for 3 secs to turn on/off. There is also a torch on/off option in the menu.

Here's where you find it. menu (bottom left hand side), then settings (cog wheel icon), phone settings (top option), language (should be six down from the top), choose english (mine had the choice between english and chinese)
