ALDI Sewing Machines Questions & Answers
VerifiedI ran out of cotton on black thread got threaded nearly to the end and not sure where to go from here. I followed the diagram on machine.
I'm just using mine for the first time and the hand wheel won't move. So frustrating! Any suggestions?
I am having trouble with stitch length normal sewing. I place dial on 4 machine sews perfectly however, I would like a much longer stitch length . If anyone has any suggestion please reply.
i am having so much trouble with tension can anybody help
Does anyone know the model info for the supplied bobbins? The style/type of bobbin & the measurement info is not included in the manual. It only says that you should only use the supplied bobbins, but I want to work with more thread colours & be able to do so without having to unthread & refill the bobbins each time, which is a big pain! I want/need to buy more to do this, but it's risky to use incorrect bobbins in sewing machines cause you can break the machine, so I just want to know what is the correct one to buy!
(PS. I disagree with some of the review ratings. This machine is actually pretty loud, it doesn't sew in reverse (as advertised on the box (you have to manually rotate the fabric, which is not the same as a pedal reverse button/lever)), the "auto sew" feature is WAY too fast & difficult to control, but, I would actually rate it higher in "value for money" (however, I have only ever owned one other machine, which is a proper Singer).)
Hope I can get some info on the bobbin size from one of you loverly people though! :)
the number 1 thread keeps breaking. I cant get it to stay in position 9 without popping out and I cant see where to find position 10 - very frustrating as I cannot use this machine - please any suggestions would be appreciated
Rita, I don't have or use an overlocker. Please contact Janome they are Very helpful
Hi Rita, I’ve used the Stirling overlocker for the last 14yrs. They are a real workhorse. I would say that you have your tension dial too tight. Loosen all four dials to a 3 or 4 and run a piece of fabric under. Use the manual which will show you which threads correspond to which dial to tighten. In all honesty I’ve never gone past a 6 because it depends on the fabric. I hope this helps. The Stirling is based exactly on the Janome which I previously used for 10yrs.
I have a Sterling sewing machine purchased at Aldi it was my mother's, it was handed down to me but unfortunately the power cord & I'd say control pedal has been misplaced my mother can't tell me what has happened to it as she has lost her memory, I was wondering if you had one I could purchase as it's a shame that we have a near new machine & are unable to use it model MD 17329 serial number011792/20 thankyou lizzy.dicton@icloud.com

The overlocker is very very noisey, is this the norm?
Can the cutting blade be replaced
Yes, but you need to contact Medion directly to order a replacement. I could not find them anywhere else. I replaced mine, from memory around $35.
I have a sterling sewing machine but the thread gathers underneath the fabric and the machine struggles to stitch and finally gets stuck so much so that it is hard to wind the machine tip or down and when I pull the fabric away I can see a whole bunch od thread underneath the fabric. Can somebody please help. Regards, Con
Hi Con, Exactly I have similar issues, And it continuously breaks the needle machine of the device. And i don't know what should i to do.really I’m not happy whit my swing machin. Didi you find any answers for your you question?!
Try tightening or loosening the little screw on the bobbin itself only a fraction and adjust the stitch length. I can't remember how I fixed this as I was getting so many other faults, but I think it might resolve the issue. Aldi reps were not helpful as they were only interested in sales. The other thing is to make sure that the thread is conveyed thru all the different positions without missing any position. Now I happen to think that the problem might have to do with the thread not being guided thru the arm that bops up and down.
How do I engage the cutting blade
How do I change the needles
I am wondering what the two dials on the right hand side are for please
Can I get my stirling sewing machine replaced after 2yrs and no receipt. The tension no longer works
To remove the left needle for which side do I turn the nail?
You might need to loosen both screws if it doesn't come out just loosening one.
When will ALDI sell showing machines
Can I do a rolled hem on this overlooked?
