Smelled bad from first use one month later it blew up emitting acrid smoke. It has now been recalled due to fire hazard – Smelled bad from first use one month later it blew up emitting acrid smoke had to throw out back door before it burned the house down This product has been recalled due to fire hazard https://www.aldi.com.au/fileadmin/fm-dam/pdf/product_recall/Multicyclonic_Vacuum_Cleaner.pdf Show details
Waste of time and $. No stars.n – 2000watt easy home cyclonic bought in bendigo 2020 and just found out they were dumping old stock from 2018. Loud as hell and lots of heat but wouldnt pull the cream off milk. No issues with anything getting stuck in it coz nothing would go in. I used it to suck up some plaster dust then chucked it on the rubbish heap. An insult to anyone who sells them. Show details
Ok I guess – Bought for <$100 and thought it was great to begin with. I found the suction to be fantastic in comparison to my old piece of junk but have noticed that it struggles recently. Cons hair is a killer and I'm just over six foot and find the handle too short Show details
High performance and low price – Vacuum timber floor, carpet, rug and tiles... Can adjust heads to suit smooth or porous surfaces. Also can adjust engine power depending on the heavy duty or not, save power. PRICE is good, reliable quality Show details
Yeah the vacuum cleaner works perfectly – I usually use vacuum cleaner in the rugs, carpet .Yeah it works perfectly and smoothly and does not take extra time for cleaning. No till now I haven’t got any issues with the vacuum cleaner. Show details
Good vacuum cleaner – Decent vacuum cleaner but it fills up quite quickly and doesn't have as much power as I'd like. This is our second one, the first one we had to return because the tube fell off but they happily replaced it for us. It was quick easy and most importantly cheap, would purchase again. Show details
Do not buy this item – Worst vacuum ive ever owned. Over heats after 5 minutes, weak plastic making, doesn't glide along at all, flimsy head and shaft, can't use it full stop, boxed and ready to return it today. Worst vacuum ive ever owned. Great value vaccuum – At $40, this is the best value money can buy for a vaccuum cleaner. I don't think there are any vaccuum cleaners in the market at this price point delivering the same quality. Vacuum itself has strong consistent suction and is easy to disassemble and clean. Have been using it for 5 months now and have not had any problems. Show details
Quality Machine Happy With It – We heard on the grapevine that these are particular good vacuums and when they became available again jumped right in. It is true! The quality is obvious as soon as you unpack it, It has metal wand and very good accessories. Suction is good and strong and emptying is a breeze. Another good thing is the long Aldi guarantee. We are well pleased with this, Show details
Good Vacuum Good Value – Heard that these are supposed to be good so I grabbed on when they came up in the Aldi special buys cycle. Well its pretty good! Suction isn't quite as powerful as I had hoped but its very good. I find it works best to regularly empty the bin and that helps keep it powerful. The construction is quite good quality but its also easy to maneuver.… Read more
Emptying the dust can be a bit messy but I appreciate not having to buy paper bags. Over all a good deal.
Great value for money – It is really portable. Easy to clean and holds a lot of debris before needing to empty. Suction is really strong. Not the quietest but that's ok. Works on all types of flooring like carpet, tiles and timber. Really easy to pack up and unfold for easy cleaning as well. Show details
Lightweight and easy – Like this a lot. Easy to empty and clean the filter. No bags. Easy to manoeuvre and works better than my old bulky heavy Miele. Takes less room to store and is great value for a cheap little machine. Highly recommend this vacuum cleaner. It is also lightweight and small. Can't remember the actual purchase date. Show details
Low Suction Returned It – This started very well and was cheap for what it is. A good quality cyclonic style vacuum. Within the first two days of using it it suction power dropped right away. I carefully emptied it but I couldn't see and obstructions, I think that after a little work, the central filter gets covered over and the suction is lost. Its a shame because I… Read more
really liked the design but the suction became quite useless. I had the receipt and Aldi accepted the return, no problems

check the cyclinuc part if fitted properly – Smooth floors. Got given this. It had the cyclonic part wasn't locked in properly meaning it dropped below the intake and was blocking up. Cleaned it out and put the cyclones and red plastic part back onto the core ( like a bayonet light fitting). Works fine now, great suction. Also amke sure the top filter is unblocked and in with the lip down. Show details
Suction Not Great – I had to return this vacuum cleaner. The moment I first started it, I could tell the suction was not up to standard. It was every well made with lots of accessories and a good bagless barrel design but it basically doesn't have the power to clean thoroughly at the start, it would get weaker as it filled. A no go-er unfortunately. The refund process was easy though. Show details
Had to return it to ALDI – Same power as our last one by Stirling (from ALDI) and at a great price, as we had anticipated, as regular ALDI shoppers, but had this Stirling vacuum a smaller brush- head so we had to go over & over the same areas more often to gather dirt and fur. This made vacuuming a lengthier and so, a much more exhausting experience. A shame, because we… Read more
were happy with the same brand when we bought it a couple of years ago and it was used often & only stopped working recently.
We love ALDI and buy many products from them so this is the first one that hasn’t lived up to their (usual) high standards nor to our expectations.
However, to be fair to ALDI, when we took it back they refunded it without argument & no questions asked so 10 out of 10 for customer service, ALDI.
This product really delivers easy to empty and great suction i personally loved this product and wou – It's light easy to manover with great suction I would recommend this to my family as it really delivers on price value for money my ndis ladies really like it to whilst hoovering the whole house IE all four carpet bedrooms and also the main flooring areas within the house Show details
After sales service terrlble – Was happy with vacuum. After sales service terrible. Emailed to find out about new filters, not in stock finally after 3 months can get one at $25, cannot say when the one in wheel will be available. Told me to try Godfreys, off course they don't have anything that will fit. So now will have to buy another vacuum, will not look at Aldi's again. Show details
Suck it up – Some good deals were up for grab and i decided to purchase this vacuum cleaner from Aldi which came with additional mini vac which worked out cheaper. So the dealer decided to provide bonus item since the product was new in the market. The suction power is so strong till today. I dont think i need branded items, sometimes other market products works better. Show details
Not that Bad – The suction is poor. probably ok for hard floor, but not good for carpet. The length of the rod may not be long enough for adult. The material is of poor quality. But for this price, you can't expect too much. it may be used as spare and for temporary use. Show details
Good Vaccum Cleaner – It is light. But the rod isn't long enough though I am already short. Sucking is OK. I only used it for wooden floor. Not sure about carpet. My house is small. But do find the wire is much shorter than my previous one. Overall, I am happy with the purchase. Show details
Awesome sucking power, when it works. :( – At the price point it was hard to beat as it comes with a 3 or 5 year warranty. The suction power is superb and really grabs a lot of stuff when combined with a Vax turbo brush. Sadly this suction power is short lived as the HEPA filter begins to clog up rapidly with fine dust particles. The only way to clean it is to... get another vacuum cleaner… Read more
or wash it under a blasting tap. It makes the whole chore of vacuuming even more of a chore. I wouldn't recommend this vacuum cleaner.

Can't kill it with a stick – Bought this as a dust extractor for spacking gyprock & sanding with random orbital - very fine dust that would kill most vacuum cleaners - but not this one - it's still going as strong as the day I bought it. Use it also on a mitre saw but the sucking power was not quite strong enough. I do clean it out doors with a needle gun. Show details
Bargain priced vacuum that actually sucks, in a good way – Waited for a month or two and saw a bargain Bagless worth a 2nd look. The Aldi store had a pallet of these Easy Home Bagless 2000w beauties. I read and looked and stood there undecided. I asked a store rep, about returns on this model. None that she knew of, and her two year old machine is still going well. Done, and purchased there and then.… Read more
Unpacked and read all the picture manuals and warranty info, scanned them and listed dates/serial details for future reference. Every page even has the support phone number visible.
I found the Manual & Quick Start Guide very informative and opened the various filter and barrel components to learn, test and ensure I could reassemble it easily. No dramas there. All the attachments were included, and easily attached. I even tried my older 'special' attachments that I will never see new again, and they fit also. A quality chromed metal extending tube is easy to use, as is the duel operation floor brush(hard/soft floor). The crevice device & fold out brush works but appears cheap. I placed them all in plastic again, in the box and in the roof as I will use my old faves for now. The hose handle has a 'vacuum power' valve as do most machines and is worth approx 30 % more or less suction.
The 5m (better or equal to avg in length) power cord extends easily, and the yellow safety stop tag is easy to see. The rewind is good to start with, but needed a little guidance for the last 0.5 meter. It is quite compact which is an absolute requirement for us, only taking the space of an average backpack.
The power lever is adjustable via a rotating dial on the handle, which had me worried it was a dud until I found it and upped the wattage to full tote. Impressive difference. The operational noise is there, as expected, and at full 200W power with hose end blocked, it is loud but not unbearable.
Test run on hard floor, no issues, and the felt floor protector functions well, and allows for easy glide. The swivel head and hose handle angle and length is good, was great into corners and under chairs, as expected. Onto the carpet, and a toe flick swapped the head over, and again, no dramas. One to two passes on our average sandy and fluffy mats and carpets had the looking good. If anything, the suction can be too good and a foot hold on the loose mats is required.
Remove the head and the hose is long enough to reach the ceiling, the fans and light fittings, so I was impressed there also. It is not light, at 6.8kg, and stands up on its end to give max hose reach and all is ok.
Now, the cleaning part. it collected so much so quickly, waiting a month to purchase a new vacuum was a mistake. The barrel was ok, 3.5 lit and still less the half full. But the filters, chocka block and needing a good wash, which is excellent. Washable filters are a must to make these economical in time and dollars. The machine has 3 filters, vortex cone and barrel, all cleanable, but the filters will require replacement when worn out or un-washable.
I expect to now use the vacuum once a week, and clean it only every 2-3 weeks. This is up to each individual situation, but I am very happy with that.
Plus to make it all worthwhile, this machine is on $49.99, with a 3 year warranty. I am logical, technical, and heard to please. I pay for quality and reliability, as well as serviceability and running costs. Names mean little, and to a point all these 'features' are going to be tested fairly over next three years, or until it dies a valiant death.
It has only been out of the cupboard twice for approx 45 minutes in total, has functioned exactly as described and so far I am quite impressed. My expectations and comparisons are with previous equipment, including $1000 Electrolux to Wet n Dry and $89 cheapies over last 20 years.
Take 2. 6 years on, still going strong. Used weekly for approx 15min plus the occasional emergency clean up. I simply can not fathom these machines costing hundreds and some over a thousand dollars. Ridiculous!
A lot of noise for very little action – I was kindly given it (new in box) by it's previous original owner who bought a different vacuum cleaner and never actually used this one. I list the Date Purchased as the date that it was given to me - it was made in 2014. The good points - I give it 2 stars: 1 for being cheap and bagless, 2. The second for it is still working (it is only 3… Read more
months old in use terms, factual but hardly amazing)
*It does suck up some dirt.
*It looks like a nice dyson-like vacuum cleaner
However the 3 missing stars are for:
1 for being Very Noisy. I'd forgive the noise somewhat if it actually managed suck up all the dirt. But it doesn't.
1 for the hose kinking regularly.
1 for the cable retractor only winds in the 1st metre under it's own power, the rest needs to be hand fed into the mechanism or left dangling.
*The barrel is fiddly to remove and empty and reinsert.
*It falls over easily whilst vacuuming
*It is an awkward shape and doesn't like to stay in the vacuum cupboard.
*It has a stupid adjustable speed switch that is bumped easily as it bumps into objects whilst being moved around the room- thus reducing power and requiring to be bumped up again or no dust at all gets collected. The simple fix is a bit of sticky tape (Why they bother to put these on vacuums in the first place I will never know. Who doesn't want full power when vacuuming???)
*It feel cheap and plasticy
*The cable is quite short
Summary: Some Aldi stuff is great. This however is a rather hateful appliance. It looks good but fails to perform. I will be buying a different vacuum in the not too distant future.
Edit 22/9 - I've discovered another hidden filter in the top of the dust collection bin which was chock-a-block full! I have since cleaned that and the suction levels have improved somewhat and it makes a little less noise. If anyone else is using the machine and can hear a intermittent flapping sound - this is probably the filter to check.
By the way, this review is for machine badged as "Aldi Lumina Bagless Vacuum Cleaner VC-001"
Piece of Junk!!! – I paid a lot of money for a piece of junk, it started to work intermittently after only 3 hours of use! I should have stuck to the top brands in vacuums, instead of risking in buying one from Aldi, I just sure hope they give me a refund, as I've lost my receipt.
Unlucky again – I thought I would give a cheaper vacuum cleaner a try after several more expensive ones,. but sadly I have been let down again. The wheel just snapped off from the front bottom of the cleaner so the cleaner is completely useless now, as I don't have my receipt I feel I cannot return it even though it looks brand-new as I have not had it long. Very disappointed
Great Buy – Used the Stirling 2000w vacuum cleaner for the first time today in my caravan on carpet and Lino. Best buy I've had in a long time. Suction great. I couldn't believe the amount of sand it picked up. I have a Dyson at home and it is far easier to empty barrel in this one. Very happy with my buy.
not worth it – I bought the $60 Stirling 2000w bagless vacuum cleaner, Orange and black colour. I thought I would give it a go because of the price. I opened it and it is very small, when I held it , it feels like cheap quality plastic. It picked up all the crumbsand things off the floor, but it was so weak, it just slid over the carpet, there was not really… Read more
any suction at all. So I would guess it probably wouldn't have pulled up anything deeper in the carpet like sand and dirt ect. Even my mother came over one day and used it and said it was rubbish. I have had it for 3 or 4 weeks now and today I am going to put it in the junk pile. I only ended up using it about 3 times over the month because I used my old one instead. Just not even worth keeping or giving away!
Not good - get something else – I've had to update my original review of this vacuum. I couldn't give it a raving review even given the cheaper cost for the unit. Long story short... we took it back before a year ran out - ***full marks to Aldi for no questions asked return***. The machine was: 1. NOISY... if it wasn't 'whistling' it was making a 'suctionous flubbering'… Read more
sound, I suspect this was coming from the rubber seal adjoining the machine to the collection container. (no - it wasn't a case of misalignment).
2. Have fun emptying the collection container... two separate halves ensure even more frustration. It's not very big so you will be emptying quite regularly.
3. Order of reassembly after emptying the dust container sections/filter - anything but obvious, certainly when compared to other more traditional machines.
It's a decent little vacuum for the price – Would be good for a flat with just adults I think. Our kids make quite a bit of mess and it was always getting blocked. But as I say I reckon it's the perfect vacuum for two people in a flat, not for sucking up papers popcorn and muesli bars on a daily basis.
